    Shrooms in South East Queensland

from this post, do you mean locations of growing spots? or the specific mushrooms?. I personally, could not tell a magic mushroom from their toxic friends, but I have heard rumours of Magic Mushrooms in Different areas. To start off with. In Magic Mushrooms of aus and NZ which was mentioned by rkundalini, there is a picture of a specimen that was found in Indooroopilly by the river. I think I know a few spots that could quite possibly have them growing, two of them being right near the Walter Taylor bridge. Also, there are meant to be shrooms growing in the cow paddocks out near Pullenvale, Bellbowrie and Brookfield. Hope this helps you. I coudl do a bit more asking around for more info if you want.

    Guarana

Now, I'm sure you've all heard of Guarana from those adds for V and Red bull and all those energy drinks. Now, I'm jsut wanting something confirmed of falsified. I hear alot of people saying that those drinks give them heaps of energy and such, I'm jsut wodnering if that could be a placebo effect? From my reading I thought the Guarana only contained caffine. Is that true? if not, could anyone tell me what else Guarana contains? -bumpy

Would Aloe Vera be classed as a cactus?

    Guarana

This may be straying off-topic, but... does pseudoephidrine effect the body the same way ephidrine does? just curious -bumpy

    Guarana

ok, I found the Guarana Vault on Erowid. FAMILY : Sapindaceae GENUS : Paullinia SPECIES : cupana COMMON NAMES : Guarana, Fruits of Youth (seeds) IDENTIFICATION : The Guarana plant has a few pinnate leaves and yellow racemes. The chestnutlike red fruits with two to three white and black seeds which look like eyes. RANGE : The humid and hot tropical rain forests of the Amazon. USES : The seeds contain 5% caffeine. It is traditionally used as a stimulant and as an aphrodesiac I knew I'd read it somewhere. -bumpy

    Guarana

ok, I should probably explain what I was meaning when I said placebo, I had a conversation with someone who said that caffiene didn't give them energy or anything, but the Guarana did. I can remember reading that Guarana only contained caffiene, but in higher amounts then coffee or tea. Could they jsut be thinking that the Guarana effects them differently? -bumpy

    Mescal Beans

I'm not intending to consime the beans if i find them, as I've read reports that the experience is similar to that of Datura or belladonna, which has scared me off a quite a bit. I'm looking for them for decorative purposes like the bead necklace reville mentioned. thanks for the help -bumpy

I was wondering if anyone knew of sources to get mescal beans from. Also, are there any restrictions regarding the plant? -bumpy

    Alternative Smokes

well, a FOF of mine used to regularly spin peppermint with his pot, but he said it was jsut because it made it taste better. Alot of people are interested in alternatives because they do not carry the same consequences if your (for some reason) frowned upon habit is discoverd, unlike marijuana, where people can get into quite alot of crap for it.

    Alternative Smokes

alot of the herbal high smoking mixes sell Hops mixed with Scotch Broom. Broom is ment to have a synergy with 'the weed with roots in hell` ( I love that term) and hops (aren't the two plants related somehow?). I've also seen catnip and and skullcap and diamiana (sp?) in smoking blends. These are all reported to be alot weaker then pot, the only one that has claimed that it is as strong that I've seen was on the alphaware site. They called Weede

    Khat

I was reading an article in an old National Geographic on Yemen, it mentioned several times the use of the drug called qat. I'm assuming this is the same as Khat, whos botanical name escapes me. I then remembered a topic on a forum, I think it was lycaeum, that was inquiring about khat, and the user got the reply "if of course, you live in a country where chewing khat is legal". So that question arised in my mind Is chewing Khat illegal in Australia? anyone know? -bumpy

    Solvents etc

Having never performed an extraction, I can't really be sure, but I've gotten the impression that the improvised solvents do jsut as good a job as the more expensive pure solvents. As for PH paper, I think that is readily available at places like Poolmart. but again, liek always, I'm not completely sure -bumpy

    Salvia Tincture

While I was reading an articel on how some New Zealand guy has figured out how to get high yeilds of gold by growing lettuce on old gold mine tailings. A thought hit me about how the emerald essence might possibly be derived. Since, when you vapourise the salvia extract, the Salvorin is vapours and you inhale its vapour, no? Well, wouldn't it be feasible to suggest that instead of inhaling the vapour, you somehow collect and condense it, so it forms a liquid/solid. Then, in theory, I'm thinking you would probably have a high yeild of Salvorin. Then, as with the Emerald essence, you add some alcohol and water, either as a filler or to aid absorbtion by the body. Anyone else think this process may be correct?

    HELP NEEDED!

I don't know, I could be wrong or misinformed(quite possibly both) but all species are only illegal in NSW aren't they? E. coca is the only illegal plant in the other states and territories. Please, if I am wrong, correct me, cause I wouldn't want anyoen doing anything illegal based on the thought it was legal because of what I have said

    Erythroxylum australe

Torsten : is there any chance that I could veiw a copy of the pictures you have? I can remember hearing a rumor from someone (back when I wasn't interested in plants) that the australian cocaine shrub was growing at one of the local high schools. At the time I shrugged it off, but now that the converstaion has started, I remember it. so, any chance you could put them up somewhere?

    Erythroxylum australe

just wondering, whats E. australis legality in Qld? What I've read, all species are illegal in NSW, but other states haven't been mentioned, and in the same book E. australis was classed as an ornamental plant. so, does anyone know any thing about its legal status in states outside of NSW?
