    DXM ..... getting phased out??

The Employees actually said that they don't stock it because its used as a substitute for heroin? Damn, I wish I had your caring chemists who are saying they would rather people go and use unregulated and dangerous drugs rather then be seen as someone who stocks a substitute for heroin. -Bumpy

    Conspiracy buffs look here

hmm, that sees alot like the Clinton Body count people send around in e-mails. I mean, apart from being scientists who die (yes, believe or not, bad things happen to everyone...even furry kittens...esp if CS feels the need to lather up and spank his monkey what connection do they have to each other...and what is the big conspiracy that their deaths are hiding? It makes as much sense as finding some conspiracy theory behind some dude in Australia who's ancestry can be traced back to some poor catholic family from Ulster and the apparent suicide of a stockbroker who went bankrupt and who's wife left him in america....the connection...THEY BOTH WATCHED SOUTHPARK...coincidence? I think not. http://www.snopes2.com/inboxer/inboxer/out...ge/clinton.html for a chuckle -Mr "yeah, I may be a bit cynical" Bumpy

    WOW!!!

Anyone ever tried using quicklime to get near 100% alcohol? I read about it in my chemistry text while I really should have been studying...but you know how other things in the book grab your attention, well, anyway. I'm guessing if you distilled/tripled distilled your alcohol...but still that doesn't get you 100% alcohol...you could add quick lime (CaO). The quicklime reacts with the water and forms calcium hydroxide I think, which is a solid. This can then be filtered out and you would be left with just the ethanol. -bumpy

    calling all gnomes

  11. Would it still be possible for drug companies and such to use the plant to see if they could make any new spiffy wonder drugs to cure the world of all illnesses and make a patent that will give them big bucks? -bumpy
  12. Peas-pipe : I don't really care if they could get you for ingesting a poison, What I'm saying is that at the moment there is nothing (to my knowledge anyway) to say that you cannot grow Salvia divinorum in your Garden. At the moment I am guessing that it is in the same tree as Hawiian Baby Woodrose, Morning Glory, various acacias ect. With these plants, they are legal to grow, sell and so on UNLESS they are intended for human consumption. Its my understanding that this law just means that we will have to start asking the gnomes and telling the everybody about the Dwarves experiences with regarding salvia, otherwise we would be confessing to an illegal activity, just like if we were to say one night we had X number of Hawiian baby woodrose seeds and then followed it off with Y number of cones Lobelia while performing an acid base extraction on a Z of Maiden's Wattle Bark. -bumpy

    SalDiv scheduling unconstitutional

DragonFyre : the thing is though, we aen't exactly sure if the plant is illegal or if it is just salvorin A that is illegal. If it is just salvorin A specifically, then having 2 grams of SD plant material since the amount of Salvorin A in 2 grams of plant material would be a lot less then 2 grams. -bumpy
  14. all queensland legislation can be found on www.legislation.qld.gov.au
  15. after doing a quick flick through the bills from 01 and 02, there is nothing to do with salvia divinorum in the drugs misuse act. Also, when I did a search on the site, there were no matches for the word salvia either. So, hopefully this means that the plant is legal in Qld. -bumpy
  16. so, if this is a TGA thingyamebob...this should only apply to products being produced and sold to others, not for personal use isn't it? For Salvia Divinorum (the plant)to be illegal in all states, it would need to be included in each states legislation for drugs. TGA don't have any say in whats legal to grow in your garden as an ornamental do they? -bumpy

    A nitrous oxide question

saucer-like : you sure he wasn't just rolling on something he was allergic too? or if his dog/cat/mother has fleas? I've never heard or seen of anyone having any noticeable side effects from nitrous about from the passing out and or dying....but nothing to do with rashes or stuff. Apart from saucer-like, has anyone else had/heard of any experiences of people getting physical side effects from nitrous? And how come it was phased out as an anesthetic? is there something wrong with it or is there just better gear out there? -bumpy
  19. Anyone else see the story about the proposed ban on bikini's on beaches on the Sunshine Coast during CHOGM? I think I heard it was put forward so as to not offend Muslim patrons. anyone else think this is a bit of a joke?

    STRONG pain relievers?

psycho0 : you should really go to a GP if you get really bad migraines, cause then you can get scripted for the actual migraine medicines they have. Does anyone know what the migraine medicine (like sumatriptan) actually does? like, are they just really strong pain relievers or what?

    STRONG pain relievers?

psychoo : if you look at some herbal companies like GoldenGlow or whatever, they usually sell FeverFew tablets.....feverfew is a remedy for migraines. If you want pain relief, go to a doctor..there are plenty of pills, inhalers and injections for migraine sufferers...trust me, I am one. Depending on the severity and frequency of your migraines, will depend on what you get subscribed
