  1. I'm happy to hear that they have a good chance of surviving. I have seen an aquarium heater setup and I'm 99% sure thats the easiest and cheapest for me.

awesome - that is a big help. Thanks WT

  2. I need some help with understanding temperature influence on growing.

I have found information outlining optimal spawning and growth temperatures for various fungus but I can't find anywhere that says what happens outside the optimal range (on the lower end). Agaricus bisporus, for example states that the spawn tempertures are 25-30 degrees C.

Do spawn cultures just grow slower in lower temperatures or do they just not grow? I understand that if the temperature is on the lower end of the "optimal temperature" it will grow slower, but how about if it is more like 10 degrees lower?

If the spawn lays dormant, then can it later begin to grow when optimal temperatures are reached?

    Thanks

  3. I like them a lot and some of them remind me of the complexities of snow flakes. I especially like the last one (the green one).

What size are they? Are they digital images that can be blown up to any size?

I bet they look would very different if I where standing in front of them hanging on the wall on big 1 metre (or larger) sized prints. Also the medium they are on would make a huge difference in appearance.

I can see some flowers, plants and a pair of eyes. Also the 5th one looks like it has some writing in amongst it. Am I right?

  4. This is a very generous offer. Thank you watertrade. I've been dreaming of being successful at growing some Ganoderma luci. I would greatly appreciate one if you are able to.

Have you tried the antiseptic cream? Does it work?

Edit: My wife begged for Flammulina velutipes if it is not too much of course! :worship:

  5. I have heard through friends of friends (on multiple occasions) of experiencing whole body puffiness. Possibly oedema, but visually there was very distinct puffy fingers, arms, legs and even face.

The symptoms were concurrent with increased thirst and minimal urination which lasted from 1 hours into the trip to about 5 hours later. I am unsure of the dose.

There may have been a water/electrolyte balance interaction? Anyone else experienced this?

  6. Hi Hillbilly. Originally you mentioned you tried agar, birdseed and a liquid stock.

Did they all give results or was it just the agar? (after cutting some out again?)

    Thanks

  7. I saw a show on Japanese TV where each week they tried to scientifically assess whether a "superhuman" was for real or not. They looked at the Russian lady, Natalia Demkina. They set up all different sets to try to catch her out (as they thought she was reading their eyes and body language to read the person. After scrutinizing her in every possible way, they concluded that she was for real. She could see inside humans and detect illness.

Also you may have seen this guy>

There were two other guys too but I can't remember their names right now. If anybody knows, I'd like to know.

One was Chinese and could heal people with energy from his hands. The scientific panel concluded that the test subjects might have somehow known him and were acting, so he took them to the zoo. As they walked around he used energy from his hands and put the animals to sleep. It was amazing to watch. From one enclosure to the other, all of the animals just sat down and slept as he faced his palms at them.

The other was a guy who could send people's energy out of their body. The scientific crew set up two hotel rooms. One was a completely secure and secret room on a higher level. They fitted it with infrared cameras, heat sensors, sound senors, everything you could imagine. There were a few secret objects that needed to be identified by the "out-of-body" spirit, one being a bowling ball on a black coffee table.

In the other room was this superhero out-of-body traveller. He sends someone else's spirit to the room. The only object to detect it was the heat sensor and it detected miniscule changes in thermals at the exact time the guy attempted to launch the spirit. Finally when he came back he could visualise the room and knew the secret objects; the bowling ball on the coffee table.

I hope someone else has seen these guys too.

  8. i have ALOT of alovera plants to trade/ give away to anyone interested.

this aloe has been in my family for a LONG time, coming from a specimen collected by grandmother.

was going to turf them but they have special significance to me  so happy to give away should the person wanting pay postage.

they r a nice aloe vera.

My grandma had a lot of aloe and her name was Vera. We used to joke and say, "allo-allo vera"..

I found it so funny when I was 8 and still do now

  9. Happy birthday and get well soon.

I just saw a mention of Arnica montana. Don"t take Arnica internally as it causes the blood cells to burst. Also it is absorbed through open wounds so it is best externally around wounds but NOT on them.

Antioxidants are a good idea for healing and health. Maybe some good quality omega 3 oils too and rest.

    Take it easy

  10. What are your thoughts on people consuming the same dosage and experiencing different things. I mentioned before about friends having the same dosage but explaining different intensities. There has to be variations due to body weight (obvious), gut function, intestinal motility, diet, previous experience, liver function, metabolism, etc etc.

If you agree, then dosage is irrelevant, isn't it?

Also, I don't know why but if I take a dose after a long break the experience is stronger. If I am in Holland doing it everyday for 2 weeks, each day progressively gets weaker and I need more (maybe someone can explain the chemistry if that's what it is). If there is some physiological reason for this then optimal dosage would vary for a roomful of people.

  11. Dosage aside, that's a life changing experience. Thanks for sharing this experience.

Often in a group of friends all doing the same, there would be some friends that seemed to be more touched than others.

Hallucination or vision aside, Hunab has been on his own personal journey and his views have changed. As a result from here, he will be a different person.

I a lot of us have had similar experiences and they are hard to put into words. I had a similar one about 8 years ago and I know I changed from that day on. I tried to explain why, how, what. Was it god? What did it mean? and the worst was trying to explain to friends who couldn't connect with that experience

  12. I will put money on it that this one fizzles out.

Just as this article's title says, "Swine flu causing 'unnecessary panic'"ABC news article

    From the article>>

The suspected death toll in Mexico has not changed since yesterday. It stands at 176.

Mexico's Health Minister says 12 of those deaths can be officially blamed on swine flu.

Ok, ok. You might say the health minister is just trying not to make Mexico look bad. But still a lot of the deaths were from the lower-socioeconomic areas. AKA. can't afford to get medical help.

There are several obvious factors that need to be considered. Living in a country like Australia gives us a huge advantage for a number of reasons.

Firstly medical intervention is more advanced than Mexican slums. Most of Australia has direct and speedy access to a whole array of pharmaceuticals at the local supermarket, chemist, doctor, hospital. Panadol, cough syrup (I believe that most victims died of pneumonia??), throat gargles, etc. That is not to mention hospital equipment, access to specialists, etc. Sorry to those that live on the nullabor, but you probably won't get it anyhow!

Secondly we are more likely to have necessary nutrients in our diet. Vitamin C, the most commonly known immune system nutrient, is again available at our finger times. Vitamin C is essential for enzyme synthesis, Gut function and immunity, mucous membrane integrity, liver detoxification, blah, blah, blah. In a nut shell giving us a better chance of overcoming a virus. Sadly, but true, poorer communities are malnourished and lack essential building blocks to fight off a serious virus such as this one. Just eat your veges like your mum said.

I couldn't agree more with the herbalists. If you truely believe in the power of plants - forget about tamiflu. It has not been proven to anymore successful than several herbs.

Cheap, easily available and scientifically supported to be antiviral

Garlic - Allium sativum (raw and lots)

    Pleurisy root - Asclepias tuberosa

    Echinacea - Echinacea purporea/angustifolia

    Andrographis - andrographis paniculata

Elder - Sambuccus nigra (berry or flower)

St johns wort - Hypericum perforatum

    Golden seal - Hydrastis canadensis

    Mryhh - Commiphora molmol

    Licorice - Glycyrrhiza glabra

And lastly..don't under estimate the power of sleep.
