    True Hallucinations (The Movie)

I haven't read True Hallucinations yet, but I've seen Jim CArrey at a podium (youtube, not in real life unfortunately) and I think he could nail it, even with the age difference. I've always been attracted (in all ways) to Jim Carrey since seeing The Mask at the cinema. I think he's hugely charismatic although I get why some wouldn't like him (I usually can't stand Jason Segal on principle). More movies biopics relating to psychedelics need to be made. More than just Hunter S's. I'd love to watch a biopic about Shulgin or Hoffman or Wasson for eg. We gobble up narco-movies to satisfy the status-quo of Don't Do Drugs - But actually please Do Drugs so that this nice system we have of supplying then denying you those drugs while we take your money and your life, stays put.

What's the best thing that's ever happened to you

Both: Paralysed at 18. I had a more-or-less great childhood running around in the countryside/beaches/suburbia like a barefoot scrubber, so at least I didn't miss out on those memories of bushwalking, walking along the beach with sand between my toes, climbing trees and rooftops, riding horses and motorbikes. But I think the experience of what happened along with getting a payout (I won't be naive here, this is something many don't get) which has helped me have such an interesting life at times. The physical pain and emotional trauma of such things go hand-in-hand unfortunately but I think it makes the sweet parts sweeter. I'd never go back in time and change what happened, but you can bet your ass I'd give a lot up now to be able to have normal use of my legs. I wonder how my life would've turned out had it not happened but I imagine it would've been pretty boring by comparison, a personality like mine doesn't sit well with "normal." Besides that... Good: Using substances. More than just psychedelics, my first MDMA opened up my social self in a life changing way, in a way that previous alcohol binging just made worse. Also good, when I got plastic surgery on my face. I didn't ask anyone's opinion, I just waited until I was 24 and adult-enough to have already formed "who I was." I only really looked different from the profile which is the part that bugged me (understatement). I could then finally sit at traffic lights in my car and not be continuously turning my head so that people couldn't see my profile. It didn't help that before the accident my lower body was the only part of me I felt physically comfortable with - then that changed significantly and I was left with nothing I felt comfortable with. Another good thing is the bonds I've had with certain pets - probably the only things that stopped me giving up over the years. Bad: This renovation and legal nightmare we're still dealing with. Destroyed our trust in people and the legal system. Caused damage with my family. Has (hopefully) temporarily financially drained me. Nearly destroyed our relationship a few times. We're still waiting on the verdict and who knows how long then til we see any reimbursement (if any). I don't doubt this experience will lead to a growth I/we wouldn't have had otherwise, and it sure has made me a lot more understanding of financial stress, so I try to keep that in mind all the time but it gets hard. Especially since the vast majority of the time it's me trying to keep both our heads above water (he has depression which is totally not his fault and he'd change that in a heartbeat if he could but it's the truth), but lately I'm tasting salty water, and my feet can't touch the bottom.

    Loph help!

So I've only just been able to get around to looking at the plant, still never got to Bunnings for the sulphur, that's tomorrow. But I've cut all the heads off as carefully as possible with a sharp knife and with as small a surface area as possible so that they dry out better. I didn't see any mites, only a couple of small spiders and a moth, Christ on a Cruskit I hope I haven't destroyed it unnecessarily but I guess they needed de-grafting anyway. So considering I'm in a financial shitfit at the moment, I'm going to have to sell a couple of the heads if you guys think they're still OK. As I said I'll get the sulphur tomorrow to dust them, but currently they're in the driest spot I could find. The stock seems pretty solid now, and it doesn't look like there was any rot... doing this hurts... Are these OK? Sellable even though they're not dried/scabbed off yet?

    Loph help!

Help, this big headed monstrosity is leaning and failing in the graft. It's been a long ass time since I've looked how to graft and I'm terrified of destroying it! Should I carefully remove the heads individually or try to remove the base of the graft from the trich? I don't think I have a thick enough piece of trich to graft it back onto as a whole and not a lot of pieces left to graft the individual heads Anyone who is in the Coffs coast area who would be happy to come around and show us what to do, I would be hugely grateful and could offer a case of beer or something in lieu? I'm someone who learns better visually rather than just reading online too.

    Loph help!

Uuugghh my worst fears! Bunnings tomorrow for sharp blade, Sulfur and neem oil! I didn't really want to cut them up for that purpose but I'll try to salvage first. The poor things have been given a rough trot over the last few years and I was hoping another move soon (when we can finance the property we want) will be the final move and we could finally put them in the ground into the magic garden! Thanks guys!

    The Stratocaster,a personal history.

I've got a little Fender G-Dec 15watt amp that has a whole range of tones I can play with :D I'm not really into playing along with a playing song yet, I just love tweaking the amp to get different tones out of the guitars. Pink Swirl is psychedelically awesome, fills the notes and sounds lovely from the strat to the tele and even with my old cheapie sx semi acoustic.

I moved to Nrth NSW from Goldy

Guys! Are we up for a MEETUP?? I'm still looking for work - no surprise there, i havne't had a job in a long time so my resume looks shit as hell. My partner moved up but now he hasn't been able to get work and he's been actively applying since I moved here. Him not getting work IS a big surprise though, and extremely disappointing. Looks like he's going to have to move back to Sydney for a job he's been 99.9% offered unless he gets one here by miracle before the other one starts. If the place which offered him a job down there has a position for me too, I'll probably have to move back down for a year so that we can hopefully relocate back up to Coffs after 12 months - otherwise we'll be doing the long distance thing My great grandparents' house we're living in has some cool aspects, but some very frustrating downsides being in a wheelchair. I'm now cash poor as FUCK and STILL waiting for the court decision (so angry I'm not going into it) so that I can sell my Sydney home and be able to pay the bills and buy a house up here. I've got a friend coming to visit from the 3/5 - 6/5 so after that would be good for us. We don't have a BBQ or enough seating though so can't host at ours. There's a shittonne of BBQ areas anywhere from Bello to Corindi if nobody else has a BBQ either? (Also I'll admit to being selfish here, I've been meaning to organise a catchup for ages but we've been too stressed or busy, but now that a couple of our peyotes are in dire need of help we need some expert assistance!) Would love to hear how you others who moved recently have fared!

    The Stratocaster,a personal history.

I wish I hadn't put off learning ot play electric earlier than last year, but better late than never! Always thought I'd be a Les Paul girl but the strat (well, squier classic vibes 50s - couldn't justify the price of a Fender for a beginner) sat so nicely! It's so much fun to noodle on and make cool sounds with. My partner has a luthier friend who replaced a few bits for me and sanded down the neck so now it plays and sounds even better :D I've got lurid day-glo orange 9 gauge strings on it so it really looks and feels like a toy now and that's how i like it. I ended up buying a custom shop Tele too which I also love to death. Occassionally it's fun to play my partner's Hagstrom, too. Also fun making grooves on the basses :D I never realised making cool sounds was relatively accessible for a noob! I LOVE MUSIC. Love to hear your sounds, Horus!

    The Random Thread.

Heh glad I'm not the only one then... I'm definitely not the same person I was a few years ago. Wouldn't expect to be and hope not, so much has happened! I need to reconnect with my plantie-plants, it's weird not having a decent garden. Random, puppy update! She's sweet, she's VERY intelligent, pretty obedient, a chow-hound which makes training with treats easy as piss, she's extremely quiet, rarely barks just does the funny whinge-whine-groan, she's entertaining, she's pretty good around the cats for an excitable pup, she's been pretty good with potty, loves carrides with mummy, very friendly and submissive (not neurotic), great with other dogs including the big guard dog next door, very devoted, very funny... total character.

    Pet dogs.

Meet Freya! My gorgeous little girl only 4 weeks old as yet so still with mum and the sibs. Mum is my parent's dog who got out during a storm on heat - they were always going to let her have one litter then desex because they knew they would have takers for the pups, mum being such a good stumpy tail. This little girl is one of the ones I saw being born from litter of 8 (lost one pre-birth), and I instantly just knew she was the one. Ideally we all would've preferred if mum hadn't had her pregnancy yet with being so busy, but it is what it is. Freya's absolutely the pick to me, pretty quiet (mum being stumpy hardly ever barks), but perky and alert, happy waggy stump tail, big smile, recognises my voice/smell/wheelchair already, has no problems being picked up and held, loves chest scritches! Just gorgeous. I got her a little harness to get used to but she's too chubbs for it and fell asleep with it half done around her lol. Biggest issue I think I'm going to have is with the cats - my black Peanut hates dogs after being chased by a big bluey. So I'll be desensitising Freya to short car trips down home to acclimatise the cats while she's still very young. She'll be desexed when old enough (as I do all my pets), and I'll be training her carefully. I grew up with cattle dogs and love them to pieces, even trained one of our newborn pups when I was 15 (beautiful Tia who ran off in a storm after she was given to an uncle). I haven't had a dog since my hairless crested Amber passed away 3 years ago, and she was a completely different dog, so I'm hoping I don't screw up - cattle dogs are unforgiving with training and exercise. Partner will have walkies duties when he moves up here until I find a second hand cripple bike to ride around (fuck those things are expensive!). Nervous but very excited! Can't wait to take her to the beach and bush (and horse riding) which is why I'm getting her used to a harness.

Is this site dying out ?

Funny the original post; I'd been thinking of SAB a lot more over the last week, although I think of the forum every time I water the plants. For some reason the last four years or so of my life suddenly got very busy and different - not always in good ways. I moved from Syd to Coffs just less than four weeks ago - head far less stressed but still insanely busy. I totally agree with what others have said. This site will never die 8-)
