There's an area of my garden I"m going to need a revamped retaining wall and I love the look of gabions - particularly with spotted gum covering the top like seating, but don't want to futz around too much or pay too much. I also very much love the look of galvanised corrugated iron which I'd imagine would be cheaper and also imagine it'd keep the soil behind it warmer. I'd assume the gabions would give better drainage though, so maybe it depends on your soil and what you want grown on top of it? After they've been dried properly (most of read is that UV suns rays work the best), they're a delicious additive to a hearty herbal tea. I don't remember what else besides the chopped amanita I'd put in a tea years ago along with some caapi leaf, but it gave a mouth watering flavour (which I can't quite put my finger on exactly) which went perfectly alongside a smoked herb of a different kind to counteract drymouth. Also smoking a small amount of dried cap (about as much as fits in a cone) will also have the same benefits of crappy ol' drymouth. So personally, when I FINALLY get a chance to go back to canada and find some of these beauties and dry them, I don't want to be boiling the hell out of them. and don't drink carbonated soft drinks with them!!

Hiya all, My partner and I are renovating our house and the whole landscaping needs to be done. Given that the builder is taking his sweet ass time to even finish the inside work, let alone the landscaper he's recommended (who failed to show up twice already), we would love it if there's someone on the forum in the Sydney (north west) area who would like some work? We have pretty much all the ideas in mind for all the separate areas, but someone with a knowledge of ethnos would be perfect. We've room for natives, cacti/succulents, herb/veg, tropical-themed courtyard, indoor+verandah plants... We'd love someone with some vision and creativity, but also the know-how and the elbow grease (both of us have rooted backs so can't get as hands-on as we'd like to). It would ease our minds to not have to worry about the collectors items also... It would be a really fun project and learning curve for us, but also a genuine paid job. We'd love to get started with what we're able to do ASAP, working around the reno's still being done. If anyone knows of someone highly recommended too, it would be appreciated muchly Cheers

What do you plant-head types think of the greater Coffs Harbour region? I've got a strong connection to there, and know most of it like the back of my hand, but besides a young cousin (who's just shaved his dreads to become a loving dad), there's not much I know by the way of local ethno life for someone not in their twenties anymore. My partner and I want to move up north between 2-5 yrs time but need to establish our newfounded careers in Syd first. We love the Byron area too, but it's a helluva lot more expensive for land and a semi-decent house. And also we found that a lot of Byron locals stared at us (the pale cripple and the non-surfie woggy dude) like we had two heads or some shit. Open-minded people?? But having said that it WAS around NYE and festival time... I think we were the oldest people around by an average decade lol. The land around inland Mullum/Federal/Main Arm is awesomely beautiful, but then so is parts of coffs again... I couldn't handle living in Tweed; if those doddling oldies' hair were on fire, I'd piss on their grey shoes. No hypocrisy or intolerance here... ;-/

ROFL If you like chocolate, you'll dig this. I'm sure I've seen Nutella in a store in the States. I'll figure a way to send you some, maybe via amazon or something ;-)

Holy crap dude just read this post! So glad to see you're home and that you didn't end up with a huge bill! Do you like Nutella, Zelly? :D

Well done, I'd have been terrified to speak to a crowd Just a thought though, RC made a good point about the jargon coming with the territory, but I also agree with Seldom "Your verbosity obscures, rather than illuminates". Also given that your talk was about Aya in Aus, I don't think I heard much about all there is to talk about the consumption of Aya in Aus? I would've loved to hear of the varied usage here. I want to know what else is going on in this bigass country

^^^ A recent accidental acacia inhalation gave me the idea what far-evolved beings think of the human race in this current place in Space/Time; the image of a monkey in a tree exploring it's B-hole, examing the mined contents, sniffed, then ate the contents thereof. "They" were so benevolently confounded/amused that I was in HYSTERICS of laughter tears that I could hardly breathe for about ten minutes. So is it "merciful", Lovecraft? Or should we wallow in spiritual retardation for another few million years?

ROFL at all ^^^ There was a russian guy who died from shafting vodka after he'd been told if he DRANK alcohol again he'd die. Maybe he had cervical varices in his throat. Butt-chugging purging Brew? Cactus soup? more guard-your-rear than avant-gard
-
http://www.palcohol.com Uhhh... just wow. The maker said it burns when snorted, ergo nobody's going to snort it. This has more holes than swiss cheese. On the other hand this may be what tips the ridiculousness of not comparing alcohol with other drugs over the edge.

Sorry can't copy paste the abstract (fucking ipad)... http://www.researchgate.net/profile/Ede_Frecska/publication/236339046_A_possibly_sigma-1_receptor_mediated_role_of_dimethyltryptamine_in_tissue_protection_regeneration_and_immunity/links/02e7e52c6816e599bd000000.pdf Very interesting stuff as I've had a lot of health issues regarding immune response (allergies/asthma); spinal cord injury from ischaemia on the anterior horn; severe hypoxia (medically induced opiate overdose). The latter inducing an event which could be explained by endogenous dmt release.

Dmt with potential role in tissue protection, regeneration, and immunity - via sigma-1 receptor

Would something like quinidine be bad news for those with opiate dependancy? Given the P450 inhibition? I seriously have NO real understanding, and the more I think I'm vaguely getting something, the more I realise I know shit about squat. And if dextromethorphan were administered with an inhibitor which allowed it more therapeutic applicable levels, would that mean the risks associated with NMDA overstimulation (eg olney's lesions) were still as high? Also thanks heaps to all for the input -
will it have to be re-grafted, or should it throw some roots?
-
DCHIW you've got a shittonne of stuff to get done, hungry as hell, waiting for tradies to turn up for TWO HOURS and you feel like you're being jerked around like a 14yr old boys willy???
