I recently got this cacti from ebay and the seller named it as being a cereus which its obviously not... they also mentioned candelabra was in the name somehow.. despite it looking like one i doubt this... does anyone on this forum have any clue as to what this is? I'm thinking possibly a Euphorbia but haven't been able to narrow it down. Your help will be appreciated.. thanks

That is very sad and yeh I think I would go with jamacaru rather than peruvianus judging by the looks of it... that's ok bit just seeing that cacti photo was good enough for me I've told my mate its a kind of echinopsis so it's sorted well enough... i appreciate your input Do you have any cuttings left of that cacti or did they all find a nice new home?

Now that's one nice cactus!!! Bravo bit! I've just had a mate send me an MMS from Pt Pirie [approx 3hrs from Adelaide] asking me what this cactus is... my guess is a type of Echinopsis? Am i close? Possibly a hybrid perhaps there's some E. oxygona and/or E. eyriesii in the mix somewhere.? Any thoughts?

I found info on chocamine on a US website! Check it out... gives a pretty good explanation IMO and yes this stuff tastes great!!! I made a milkshake last night using a banana, a small amount of natural vanilla essence, bickfords ice coffee essence and ofcourse chocamine! WOW! It was a treat but it is a very effective stimulant and I didn't get to sleep for several hours afterwards. From some of the images I have seen on various websites I've actually only seen white flowers on C.peruvianus... Images of C.peruvianus @ cactiguide hence my doubts, however, I've just had a confirmation on cactiguide.com that it's a C.peruvianus. Cereus? I'm hoping it is, as I've got a cutting I took over 2 years ago in the ground that will hopefully flower soon... I read an article that C.peruvianus has a nice edible fruit and are being commercially grown in Israel and sold as exotic Israeli fruit. I'd be willing to sell/swap some... any offers/suggestions are welcome...

Hi, I'd just like to show you guys another pic of the Cereus cacti from my previous post as I have been given a shitload of offcuts from a very large mother plant [will get a photo of that asap] There are 36 in this photo.... I'd like to know what it is if anyone has any idea... Phosphene_Dream previously suggested C.peruvianus ? Any further comments on that.... it has a pink flower as seen in this photo. or perhaps it's a C. jamacaru ? Thanks guys, keep up the great work.

Well I've got to admit Torsten, I am sadly disappointed. Your doing some wonderful things for the community with SAB with products like this along with all the others, it's just sad that at the end of the day your still worried about the all mighty dollar. Kinda defeats the entire project doesn't it. I thought SAB was merely an aid to the community and not a profit based company. Kinda contradicted there mate.... What is the difference between a big evil corporation putting undisclosed ingredients into food items that people are unknowingly consuming and potentially becoming ill from and you sitting back in your corner unwilling to disclose the ingredients of your hash [that could potentially do the same] Try practicing what you preach... I kinda expected the response I got but didn't think you'd be such an arse about it. You must be such a nice bloke... ahh sorry... but you said it's legal and it's safe so I guess it doesn't matter what i am putting into my body and you just confirmed my entire point about wanting to know. The fact I don't know what is in all the food i eat, unless I make it myself, is indeed a big worry, which i am doing more and more, but the fact that your 'helping the community' with your products, that you choose to keep the ingredients from, changes everything i guess. But if i am going to be drug tested it's inevitable THC will come up anyway as it stays in your system for so long and there is nothing wrong with smoking a bit of green from time to time. Hi, I can respect you wanting to hold onto the recipe for this hashish so you can monopolise the market for it, however, i am sure i am not the only one who likes to know what he/she is putting into your body/mind. Atleast with real hash i know exactly what im consuming as i've usually made it myself... however... since this herbal hashish is claimed to be totally legal and safe... why not tell us what is in it? I am pretty sure there is a law somewhere that would force you into revealing these herbs as you are selling it for human consumption! "Made from a selection of special herbs and extracts, this is the closest thing to real Moroccan Hash that could possibly be legal. Does not contain cannabis. Legal in all Australian states and all other countries." "Please enjoy in moderation. 2g will pleasantly inebriate 2-3 people. Do not consume with alcohol. Do not consume if you have liver damage. Do not exceed 5g per person per week. Discontinue use if you develop undesirable side effects. Do not smoke through water." The biggest thing that jumps out at me here is the section saying "Do not consume if you have liver damage. Do not exceed 5g per person per week." What could possibly be in this preparation that could pose as a threat to someone with a damaged liver??? This is a concern to me [my liver is fine btw] and why the warning not to consume anymore than 5g per person, per week? Why? What is in this preparation that obviously have a heavy effect on the body if over-used [what is building up in the body or what is being depleted or both?] I'm not asking for the ingredients to be publicly displayed... PM me if you like if you know... I'm not out to destroy your monopoly, I just like to know what I am going to put into my body and I am well aware that just because something is labeled as being legal doesn't make it any safer than something that is illegal. Just one last thing, you have obviously marketed this product to be consumed but to my knowledge aren't you required to get the permission/approval of the TGA to sell something to be consumed by a human unless you put a warning on the product noting it isn't approved by the TGAso consume at your own risk. Thanks for all your helps guys! It's nice to know what I've got in my garden, even if they don't have any ethno-botanical significance I like to know what all the plants I'm growing are. I might do an assay one day and find out the alkaloid profile of the T.spachianus myself one day.... it will just have to be a day I can dare to dance with those prickles!!! It's definentely one of the most prickly cacti i've come across... took a few weeks to get all the prickles out haha Thanks once again
