  1. One of my all time favourite movies is "Donnie Darko." Others have been mentioned already. "Into the Wild" is amazing.

Donnie Darko is about a guy that has schizophrenia, and has recently started taking med for the condition. He is sort of in another world all the time, makes friends with an imaginary guy in a giant horror themed rabbit suit and believes the world is going to end very soon. Haha, sounds a bit hectic when you say it like that.

Anyway, it's a really great movie. Very emotional IMO.

  2. i believe glass pipes are outright illegal now in qld, they are illegal to sell, as is a complete functioning bong.. so possibly yes. ordinary pipes should be okay.

I had thought that as well. I was in brisbane a while ago and bought a small glass pipe though. I asked the seller about illegality and they said that it was sweet. (This could just be due to the seller wanting to get a sale and not caring about what may happen to me though). But I also flew from Brisbane to Sydney and the bagage check didn't question it at all. It was clean, but I thought they would. They were actually more concerned about a hard drive and an empty water bottle.

That doesn't really answer your question. Lol.

To my knowledge there are laws agains "drug utensils" in QLD, even if clean. But they might not be very enforced.

  3. Yeah it's new to me and I'm still working it all out. I'm still working one the depth of field but what do you mean by best colour? Do you mean by the content or something I've done with the camera.

Yeah, I've only just got a new camera myself and I'm in the same boat. Still working shit out.

Maybe it's just personal preference with the colour. I think it might be the contrast, or white balance maybe? And I was referring to your earlier posts more so. Just a little bit of extra white in the mix. It's nothing major though, they are all great shots. The later posts are really spot on!

  5. i wonder how much penis the film will have.
well i thought it was a cartoon but anyway

    HAHAHAHA!!

I thought that was fuckin gold!

I haven't seen the movie, but apparently a lot of the predatory animals have their scenes toned down (assuming for kids, seeing as it's disney). That's a bit of a downer 'cause they are always really interesting parts of nature docos. And David Attenborough doesn't narrate it like he did for the series = FAIL!!

  6. Ok - I selected the top 5 entries and put them through a random number generator.

    And the winner is..........

    COMPOST MENTIS!!!!

Please PM me your postal address and I will post it off early next week.

I'll just add that Stitches entry was an EPIC WIN!!

  7. oh & they smell like a dead wombat too.

The "dead wombat" smell attracts insects, which get trapped inside the deep flower for some time (the inside of the flower is slippery in the early stages of blooming, so they can't get out). Then, once the bugs have walked around in the pollen for a while, the inside of the flower turns rough. The insects can then climb out and are likely attracted to the next Amorphophallus. They also seem to bloom in some sort of succession, not all at once. So the bugs from one that has finished blooming, will have a brand new one to go to when they escape.

I hope all of the above is actually about this plant, I saw a doco aboot a pretty similar looking plant. If I'm wrong then just disregard everything I said. :D

  9. Just to let everyone know, the competition will close next FRIDAY 8th of May. It doesn't seem like many more people are going to enter, but I'll give some leeway for stragglers.

I'll post the pup out to the winner the following week (probably Tuesday).

  10. I have one decent sized Eileen pup to give away to one person. The pup is around 26cm tall.

This can only be entered by noob SAB members with more than 15 posts and less than 100.

The pup up for grabs is the middle one in the first picture

All you need to do is post a CAPTIONED funny picture to enter. I think this idea has been done a few times before, but I couldn't think of anything else.

You can either make the picture yourself or just get one off a funny site.

Each Member can only enter once. And ONLY AUS Members can enter. I'll leave the comp open for a week or 2 depending on how quickly people enter.

When it comes time to pick a winner, I will pick the top 5 pictures and draw the names out of a hat.

ALL POSTAGE AND HANDLING WILL BE PAID FOR AS WELL

Most of my current ethnobotanical collection is made up of free or cheap deals from this forum. I thought I'd continue the tradition to help a newbie get up and running.
