Gday
have a few spare plates of k03 and cl2 commercial king strains available for $15 at the moment if interested - both are crackers and will fruit and blow out lids off jars if left colonised too long.

Hi Matt - what type of sawdust as in wood type. Thanks
-
BTw the jars all went red and yellow on colonisation.
-
Mycelium teared after aging in plates but other species do that as well so who knows.
-
It basically grew out as a thin reishi type thing - long and skinny, red with a white tip. I chucked the bags and jars in the garden as I dont really know what it is other than fast.

Ive only ever eaten chants once outside Australia and it was in a restaurant in North west USA. Tasted amazing up there but being chef prepared you cant really tell how much was the mushroom and how much was the chef's skill. The aussie ones were much more subtle.

Well edibility seems untested according to online sources but the old guy from Emerald tells me he has been eating them for years and more recenlt I saw on the Emerald Victoria wikipedia page it states that 'mushroom hunters travel to Emerald to collect Chanterelles.'
Ive eaten them twice and suffered no ill effects, but then again Ive eaten Tricholoma terreum which according to one study may be poisonous and I slept awesomely after them every time

Pseudo - sorry typo

I guess just the puedogills that look like veins and van branch apart and rejoin. Smell of apricot and when ive found them they seem always in a semi circle around a host tree.
ive heard from an old guy that we have purple and pinkish ones that are very tasteless and yellow-orange like above which seem to me less flavoursome than the ones i tried in usa

Hey folks
Been messing with this weird culture someone sent me a while back that I think has been mislabeled. Mycelium is kind shiny white and very fast, linear then creating ridges, covers the plate then exudes volumes of liquid metabolite like ive never seen.
I ran a few bags of it and it was very quick - outpacing an oyster strain that is itself pretty damn fast. By this stage I was almost certain it was not the mushroom it had been labelled as.
Now cased it has started throwing up these rather odd structures that a friend tells me is probably Ganoderma of some description:
1. anyone agree - i guess its a little early to tell but just curious
2. is anyone interested in jars of spawn of this - i have about nine and I have no intention of growing this mushroom really. They would be at price of postage only (free to good home).

Awesome work - looks great. Im surprised more permis arent into oysters now days - they are just so easy to work with really.

In fact they didnt side pin until i cased them
-
All mine were cased and most still side pinned...
-
Synephrine is impressive - not supposed to effect central dopamine but I find that hard to believe. half life is short however.
-
Agrocybe aegerita likes to side pin. Sometimes they find their way to the top but I wont fruit them in a container again...

Hi - I just use millet mainly because Im used to it and can get it for very cheap. Its a pain with spawning outdoor beds though as even a tiny bit of birdseed attracts every rat in the southern hemisphere. Ive also used rye grass seed and similar when i can get that for very cheap as well.

Basically two cups of straw innoculatef with 1/2 a cup of millet spawn

Open air. Tasty suckers didnt last long

I can very much relate. I was offered a redundancy package (almost involuntary) that sounded great at the start until i looked into the detail. In the end I stayed but it is hard when your stuck in a job.
My advice - change before your mortgaged and have babies as once that happens its logistically more challenging to take on a new job (with an hours sleep)
