Melbourne meet- Hope to see you there

Good work Sharxx for picking such a fine day for it!! -great turn out, well done guys-
  2. Keep at it ps, it may take more attempts than you originally thought to get the position you desire. As mentioned above though you may have to expect a few years of hard physical work before you are given any sort of desicion making roles within this industry. For 3 years during my hort apprenticeship i rarely got 2 consectutive days off ( i was lucky just to get one ) many "10 day's without time off" were done. But i made it through. So get ready for the hard yards, its tough at the moment, it really feels like an employers market, but you have to keep at it!, its the only thing that will set yourself aside from other prospective apprentices. Also, in these tough times, think wisely and be sceptical about signing with a "group training" apprenticeship, you will get no real value in on job training, and likley be moved around from job to job with weeks off in between. I'm shifting career at the moment ( trying construction) and its tough, no doubt about it, there is hardly any work going on. Iv manged to get work experience at two different places and got 1 job offer but didnt think it was for me. It may take a dozen more potential employer's before i find a position i like!! So maybe offer your services for a week or two's work experience, you never know how shit a job can be until you have too get up at 4.45Am for it. Get some work experience, it will help fill up your resume and give you references. , The pig flu hasn't hit Aus , no need to become a vagabond yet!! Good luck

They stole my idea - I thought of this a while ago My idea was a bit different, it was a sit in arcade machine just like the old "After Burner" (sega game) With cool green and purple geometric screen savers played on the screen, music aswell I like the "Automatic Respiratory Monitoring System"- ARMS,

    ID Me!

Viola odorata, the flower should have a sweet smell The others are right about its habbit, it can sustain itself in pretty poor soils quite well, so if your in a temparate climate which you are, plant with a bit of caution, ( if you dont mind it of course)

    How to kick the habit

As far as my experience with 'the erb' goes, i find nothing can really help, no plants or catus or fungus i know about can help with this habbit - sometimes a really really good dose of subs can seem to make you take a look at your self in a positive way reagarding smoking weed and kik'n the habbit ( smoking weed all the time seems wrong when i'm in a psylo therapy session) but as soon as it wears off my hunger begins again for weed, i'v heard / read on erowid that LSD has had positive effects with some smokers also Ayahuasca, but not with me, every thing except soberness makes me want to smoke joints or pipes, why because i used to love and still love getting blazed. I used to be cronic - hard core, but have smoked about a gram over the last month and dont plan on doing anything/ nothing more until i get this job i'm going for, (medical coming up real soon), thats what you need in order to give up weed, (if you love to smoke) a real reason outside the mind, not an ethno, as no ethno product will cure this habbit, its like trying to give up smack with methadone - when you love smack. Weed is a seriously under rated powerful herb, its addidctiveness is seriously underated, aswell as its withdrawl symptom's when i started to stop smoking and started my first few sobernight's it felt like i was staring at the gates of insanity and deppression, i'm glad i had a reason to look forward, i got some strange lonley feelings and felt really abnormal for a little bit there. i sigh now knowing that most of that terrible shit is over, looking forward to getting started in new work , but also looking forward to getting stoned again one day in the future, ( its hard to really consider myself a non stoner after all those years) i wont ever smoke more than once a week ever again!! Too sum all my 'dribble' up in one try-hard phrase, ~ you need a reason, not another substance ~ Cheers bro

Caapi Kyle Thinks Growing Botanicals is Easy!

Proper gardenig within a style is more like a trade or skill, To master it ( the style) one needs to fuck a few things up, near kill a few plants to see what went wromg , learn from the masters. You must live through at least 3years with your style ( 3 x 4! thats actually 12 seasons) see a few wierd weather patterns. Now heres the catch, if you speacialize in one area or style ( two or three maybe) you can focus more attention on this particular style - become a bit more specialized. I have foung that swapping from my shade house giving it to much attention all the time , i let to many weeds get too big outside, like wise planting vegies all the time, looking after my stressed out citrus and cacti in summer, my orchids and lillys get neglected, ( i have cut down on my orchid obbssesion). I suppose if you spend all your time play "unreal tournament" and honing your skills on 1st person shooters, your "warcraft" skills get a bit dull - Fuck VIDEO games ( not chess though) as a legitimate pastime, what kind of sad case would actually see PLAYING and mastering video games as a real skill, i mean i dont mind a bit of NBA 09, Colin mcrae or WWF but only when there is absolutley nothing else worth while doing a particular hour or two.

    trichocereus cuzcoensis

^^ Umm, can i ask this - i thought kk242 was realating to an area that Karel Knize collected specimens from, now catophyle is actually calling it a cactus variety as in "KK242 Is Cuzcoensinoid" I thought by previous posts that you could have many different species of trichs which fall under the tittle of KK242trichocereus whatever, AS THEY WERE COLLECTED FROM A SPECIFIC AREA, or is that wrong??
  17. ~shameless~

    Serious question

^^ Hmm...... actually all the cacti i'v bought from folk from this site have been tips and cuts and have all been reasonably priced at about the $25-30$ per foot, (cheap actually) they have been tip or mid cuts and have come from really old and mature flowering plants. maybe specify what you want better, let people know what you really want At collectors corner (retail nursery) in sth east melbourne I recently brought a blueish peruvian that wasnt quite a foot actually, it taperd off at about half a foot maybe a bit more, it was in a six inch pot with not a huge amount of root growth either and i paid $70!! It depends where you live,..... If your in melbourne the prices that people sell there stuff for on this forum are REALLY FAIR to say the least, and ussually varieties that cant be brought in nurseries, most dopey nursery staff could even tell you what a trich is let alone a J2 long spined pedro or bridget "eilleen". People that i'v brought from so far have been REALLY KIND and REALLY HELPFUL- be nice and it will come back to u in due course man.

    about cactus potency

Any trich that has that really nice powdery blue appearance and uniform, neat and tall upright growth is what appeals mostly to me and also seems to appeal to most other plant lovers who know nothing of potency either, Nice blue bridgesii and peruvian x pachonoi hybrids really get alot attention from most of the public i have noticed Although nothing beats the picture of fully blooming matured scopilcola, this overrides and surpasses potency any day, hands down!!

    trichocereus cuzcoensis

Well just wondering peeps in the US does this look like the standard US cuzcoensis clone that teotz was talking about. Hey teotz have u ever tried to get close with one, are you just saying that they are ineffective because you have seen it on the web?? I'm considering taking it to the next level with this one right here, nice old piece, regardless i'll post what happens anyway, good night eastern seaboarders I hate Monday's
  24. ^^^ Thanks man, i thought so too!!!^^^ have a good one
  25. Hello friends!! After seeing a topic start today about cuzcoensis it reminded me to ask for a piece off this absolutely huge plant i'v been admiring for a couple of years now around the corner from me. Rather nice young bloke answered the door, i actually thought for a while that i would'v come across as a crazy desperate guy casing the place out! hahaha He told me he got it from a demo site along with some small Pachonot's and stuff, but this plant is too die for!!, ( took five people to plant the thing, massive woody trunk ( balls and all) He was a real nice guy and led me through his house i met his partner and showed me the bits that fall off it from time too time and said i could take this rooted cutting, i was soooo greatfull i came back with about 5 potted various succulents and cycads and yuccas i propagetd at home- check it out WHAT IS IT THOUGH??? mother plant must be about 50 years old... Its one whole meter tall!! Never hurts to introduce yourself sometimes!! -EDIT- the pups have got this nice blueish look sort of
