Seeking sources for show on drugs

I'm not sure of the bias of the program, all I know about it at this stage is what I've posted above. If anyone is interested in finding more about the show, I can put you in touch with the the person looking for the contacts and you can discuss with them further. If I happen to find more I'll post here too. I believe it's a Sydney based opportunity. [ 07. August 2004, 16:10: Message edited by: macro ]

Hehe, any improvement would be wasted on me, my coordination goes out the door, especially if I've had a beer or two..

    shrooms popular in the U.K.

It seems that Australia often follows the UK in drug taking trends (though on a smaller scale), especially in the dance music scene. It will be interesting to see if follows here..(with respect to obvious legal traps and also existing use) Reminds me of being in Amsterdam. 25 guilders for 25g of Thai, Mexican, Hawaiian or these ones called "Philosopher's stones". Not quite sure what these ones were...

Popping a party pill is not so abnormal

Originally posted by Chemical Shaman: "In the past, drug use was a way of enhancing another cultural experience, such as dancing or being at a party. "It's almost the case that drug use itself has become the leisure activity," Dr Duff said. That statement is obvious when you hear most of the music being played in clubs these days

Mushroom Psychos!s !s gripping our young!!

As Reville said, the main dangers are psychological. On the physical side of things, Psilocybin, the major active substance (along with Psilocin) in what most refer to as 'shrooms' is very safe in a toxic sense. "Psilocybin is one of the least toxic of all hallucinogens. While a full effective dose is 10 mg., its LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of the sample) in the mouse is 280 mg./kg. of body weight." (Schultes & Hofmann, 1973). That said, there are many mushrooms out there in the wild that are highly toxic, so (legal issues aside) you'd want to be very, very careful eating anything at all wild unless you knew precisily what you were doing. In regards to scientific material on psychedelics and disorders, I don't have anything concrete, but here might be a good start to look - http://www.maps.org/

Nice site, very simple and to the point. How do the varieties differ from the normal l.williamsii in both physical and in traditional use, potency?

    EBA down....

Maybe Eccles and Torsten could each respectively set up a PayPal donation accounts? I'd happily donate, and it is minimum effort from both site owners and community. The calendar is a great idea though, we did a similar for our faculty social group at uni years back, and it wasn't too expensive to get them done. The problem was though getting it organised, then marking the calendar up enough to cover costs, and realise a profit. You also need to sell them all for it to be successful.

    EBA down....

It's still down, but looks like it may be back soon.. I have no connection with EBA, just hypothesising, but if you do a lookup based on the registered name servers for the domain, then go to the returned IP address, you get a message saying "It will take 2-3 days from the time your domain was set up on our system for it to start working fully." So yeah, still looks like a DNS propogation issue..
  15. Definitely interesting news. Thanks for chucking that up..it does your head in, it was hard enough to accept light behaves that way, let alone something 'more physical.'

    EBA down....

Yes, it certainly was lonely last night. I was concerned when this site was down last night and looked up the EBA records. It looks like the domain expired over the weekend and was only updated yesterday, thus there are some changes that are yet to propogate through the internet. This makes sense because I know some people could see it still, when I couldn't. I guess it may or may not work for the next 48 hours depending on how your ISP's route to the domain, well that's what I reckon, could be wrong tho!
