LSD no days simply ISNT LSD

I disagree. It really depends on how it's been stored. Less potent, almost definitely, but not inactive!
  2. Brinkmann! That slipped under my radar somehow, thanks for the heads up!

    Cool, thanks for that!
  5. Second all the "dont worry about it" answers. I had a nice 5" cutting that did the same thing. It pupped, rooted and grew no probs. Do ensure that it's in an airy dry place though.

    trich dose

There have been posts on here and other places of reported 750g dosages with only threshold effects. I think it would strongly depend on the strain of cactus.

    Any real ravers here?

Torsten, I feel the same way. I was a late comer to the rave scene, getting into it around 1994 I guess...and drug free (the only one amongst my friends of the time). Raves conjured something up in my mind that was totally magical, and something I'd never experienced before. There was adventure and something crazy about the drive out to a warehouse in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, unsure of what lurked within. The massive sound systems, the lights, the people, and of course the lasers. Complete sensual overload. Interestingly, while I was immersed in the whole culture, I didn't go to raves anywhere near as often as many of my mates, and I was always the straight guy (the rare toke on a joint aside) Even without drugs, there was something incredibly mystical and psychedelic about it, though sometimes the actual experience didn't match up to the imagery that I'd form in my mind, thinking of the perfect rave that never was... I was very much into the German style "trance" and "hard-trance" of the time (both not resembling the same named genres at all these days), as well as the full on harder (Belgian) rave tunes. I wasn't a huge anthem fan. I see what you mean about the music and it's peaks, but I think at least in Sydney, the anthem (as well as happy hardcore!) was the undoing of the rave. You'd hear the latest track 6 times over the night, each dj just wanting to slam it, and not build up a set. There was no progression, and the music became dull. I really love outdoor parties, and enjoy the odd doof immensely, but psy trance isn't my favourite genre by far. I rarely listen to it outside of the doof environment. (downbeat psy stuff like Sphongle I do listen to on occasion). I progressed from the warehouse to the club, and with that came a transition from rave to house to techno music. This became the predominant style with everything else in between, and much more electronic listening since I seriously started getting into the music. I (still) DJ, I put on parties, I still go out and crave this stuff...and love warehouses and outdoor techno parties. I love the idea of the doof, and can really appreciate the culture, but I cant immerse myself in it like rave. I'm not swapping tapes, picking up fanzines, chasing down the latest mix tape from the international who played on the weekend and collecting flyers for every party I see and sticking them on my wall, buying baggy jeans, t-shirts and puma sneakers - like I was during my rave days. The Sydney rave scene died in a big way in 1995 with the death of Anna Wood, and the constant perscution of parties and promoters, including more fringe events such as the Vibe Tribe's Freequency. My last "real" rave was in 1996, and it sucked. The music was bad, the crowd was awful and I felt ripped off. I stopped going and took up clubbing. What happened? I got older, cynical, and I started giving a shit about the music to the point of being anal. Going out was often more about what was being played than having a good time. I look at photos of the big Sydney raves on sites like ITM and think "holy crap". So many fucked up people, such bad music and so commercial. Perhaps it was always like that? Occassionaly, I crave the feeling of the rave, and get bleary eyed. I think rather than it being more addictive than what's on offer now, it was just newer to me and it was special. It was the thing that I was doing at the time. Things post rave like clubs and the like were a natural progression. The first few years of that were amazing (and hold a special place, but that's another story). I'm not easily excited any more, though I still have my old pair of green puma suede sneakers, just in case [ 11. May 2005, 14:54: Message edited by: macro ]

Agreed. Emarcidum is quite pleasant. I suggest that that you eat it rather than insufflate it though. [ 29. April 2005, 13:59: Message edited by: macro ]

    new pope a hard liner

Torsten, I diasagree. Having a hardline pope in power is a bad thing, especially when he's following on from a hardliner, if lesser. You're right about people not wanting in on the church if it's restricting, but I really don't think this is going to happen in the countries where it matters. For example, African countries etc with the AIDS crisis and the church's thoughts on contraception. America, which appears to becoming more conservative, more conservative spiritual guidance cannot be a good thing.
  21. Hmm, the imagery "Songs for the Deaf" conjures in my imagination would place QOTSA, at least SftD, pretty high in my psych guitar/rock list.

    why were drugs initially prohibited

Perhaps as a threat to staying in power perhaps? Imagine how many votes from "majority Australia" Howard would lose if he legalised all psychedelics tomorrow? I don't know if they really think that usage will lead to revolution, though a lot of believers do, and as Creach pointed out already, is an oft cited reason for their initial prohibition.

    Qualia ?

Yeah, it's a concept that does your head in, but it can be described. From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualia "qualia are: 1. ineffable; that is, they cannot be communicated, or apprehended by any other means than direct experience. 2. intrinsic; that is, they are non-relational properties, which do not change depending on the experience's relation to other things. 3. private; that is, all interpersonal comparisons of qualia are systematically impossible. 4. directly or immediately apprehensible in consciousness; that is, to experience a quale is to know one experiences a quale, and to know all there is to know about that quale." That is, I think that they are personally experienced 'things' that can describe an experience consistently and definitevely, but cannot be qualitatively or quantitavely described. I think
  25. It probably means shit all in a legal sense, and as stupid as what they did was (if they did it), casting rumours from associates about their associations publically on the web isn't going to help their case. [ 20. April 2005, 15:28: Message edited by: macro ]
