  1. Post entitled "Climate change predictions" made me think, what can we do about this?

    Bouncing ideas...

The biggest problem in the environment is the CO2 levels right?

If CO2 is a big problem in the ozone, and trees turn co2 into wood, then would it be possible to grow a huge huge huge amount of trees, dry the wood and store them until the ozone had cleared up a bit.Perhaps better than trees would be some sort organism that was a weed in the particular environments it was grown.

Then if we could make money off it there would be motivation. We have lots of space in the desert.

This would obviously be a global thing.

Most of the CO2 is dissolved in oceans via algae right? In that case, with increasing temps, would more algae be produced? Also less fish are around since we are eating them all so more time for algae to grow.

Increasing waters=death and strife. = Less people to pollute.

Additionally- higher temps is a problem for water levels, but this will increase rainfall due to evaporation-> more trees--> less evaporation+ less heat absorbed due to suns rays bouncing off clouds

    and greener earth

It will get better, but first it will get worse?

  2. Theres also longer term goals, such as a library ( in some as yet undetermined format), a resource list, social/legal awareness/change. Unfortunately im a hopeless disorganisation, still teh dream is alive. I don't think we should really think about it in terms of "needs" just yet, at the moment, i like the idea of meeting up with people who share similar interests as me and just chatting/socialising/relaxing etc. I know a lot of others in the group who feel the same way. Hence there is the desire and vague vague vague plan, which will naturally lead to more if its meant to. I think that this is a good way to sort of ground the group. This its got a strong "root system" whereby brizeb can eventually grow and flower!

A long way off but i can dream :P

  3. Thanks for the support from all you N/NSW bogans Even just coming along to meets and sharing knowledge is great, not to mention afsr and forum...

We had a list of activities made up that is not agreed upon neither legally or feasibly so it shouldnt go up here just yet...

I'm thinking making a kitty of some description, but then again, we have thought about this before and time after time the same issues arise. Why trust one or two to take all your money, and actually finding a time when enough people can make it... Any ideas?

Maybe user pays, but that gives us less degrees of freedom...

I suppose this meeting will be an important one in deciding the future of brizeb *cue thunder and lightning*

  4. I'll be more than happy to moderate the list, i dont think we really need someone hugely involved to organise this group. I think if everyone shows a little enthusiasm and will to help, then we can get regular meets back online, and who knows, maybe even those fabled excursions we have all dreamed of. Oh well we can discuss it at the meet, this thursday.

  5. I don't know, we decided to basically leave topica for the shaman australis hosted one. I posted one on that today, but i havent received anything and neither has anyone else ive spoken to, ill see what mesq has to say on the subject... Its all a mystery. If anyone can be bothered who is a member of EBA could you mention something on that? Otherwise i fear that no one will hear about it what with mailing lists down and all...

  6. Hey all, Salviador here.

Ive been running into random brizeb people all this week and everyone ive spoken to have told me that theyve been thinking about having a meeting in the near future. Plus Its been a big week for a lot of the brizeb crew, and i thought what better time to synchronise our paths, than now in this time of synchonicity :P

So would anyone object if i were to suggest a meeting on the 23rd of this month (september) on a thursday night at the three monkeys starting at say 7:30pm?

It would be great to catch up, and im sure weve all got a lot to say since we havent had a meet for so long

ps if you know anyone who hasnt got this let them know...

    Regards Salviador

  7. Update.

Feeling better, have started drinking more water and detoxing from the anandamide simulators.

But i think its perhaps a habit problem as well. I find the less i go out partying and the more i practice self control, the easier it is to control these feelings.

I eat fairly healthily, mind you i am a sucker for icecream, chocolate and red meat. Only thing that makes me doubt this is that i havent always felt this way, and if anything ive been eating more healthily of late.

I know we are slaves to our neurotransmitters, but at the same time i cant help but feel we have some sort of non-dietary control over this. For example, if i am feeling bad, its sometimes as simple as having a single thought or group of thoughts to make me feel better. What i mean by this is, perhaps by triggering the right pathways in my brain, inhibitory responses/ blood flow to areas etc are directly affecting the neurotransmitters. Some say buddhist monks in deep meditative states are simply controlling hormone/neurotransmitter release consciously, this is also true of biofeedback, where blood pressure, pain and heartrate to name a few can come somewhat under control of conscious systems...

Thanks for the suggestions, i have tried out a couple, non experimentally of course so i dont know what i can really put it down to, could all just be concerted effort

  8. To jack re ghb being potentially dangerous. You're right i do tend to balance out the radical claims of the anti-drug lobbies. However its sorta related to education as well... perhaps better for another thread :)

-To T re offensive ideals:to force people to ride bicycles more often and eat less meat, i spose thats what really irked me. It should be peoples choices who make their choices based on reliable information rather than adverts and general capitalistic mechanisms of info spreading, again maybe another topic :P

    MOST RELEVANTLY HOWEVER

Forgive me psychonauts for i have sinned; i saw a current affair on channel nine tonight!

    1) 76% trust howard over latham mind you there would be a fair deal of sampling error there...

2)They interviewed Bob, who informed people that what the herald said was mostly incorrect- briefly - no open door policy, only to those who are not trying to deceive the govt- as for farmers working with them to improve farming technology/efficiency

    3) Bob Challenged Howard on national tv to a debate !!!! Gosh I would like to see that

So it seems that at best the list was negatively geared and a worst some was of it was outright creative writing

Politics has never excited me quite like this before, I'm much more partial to good ol' Bob now :P

  9. ITS A CURSE FROM THE INCAS, THEY WILL SMITE US FOR OUR INSOLENCE

Yeah, Rev mentioned something about other cultures using it for similar purposes as we use cigars, like with a close friend or to celebrate something rather than chaining. I think its usable but too easily abusable.

I find that my lungs start hurting when i either smoke really heavily or dont smoke at all for a couple of days. Not sure why...

    - cant remember where i heard it, but youve got about a ten percent chance of getting lung cancer if you smoke all your life. (Not including other smoking related diseases of course)

As for positives of quitting, admittedly its only been for about 10 days, but even after ten days, deep breathing exercises are easier, you get a certain amount of pleasure just breathing and smelling. My concentration levels are arguably better, and yeah amazing increase in fitness, i believe this is due to the lack of carbon monoxide which gets in the way of oxygen.

    - This might explain the angina, maybe not since there is carbon monoxide in all burning material...

  10. Pity about the rest of their civil liberty renouncing campaign, some of those policies looked really good...

Additionally contrary to the greens I think that utilised correctly ghb could be the safest of all drugs seeing as its a neurotransmitter and all (http://www.idmu.co.uk/ghb2003.htm , http://www.qhi.co.uk/features/feat_003.asp)

It just seems like they are really going for the fringe/psycho vote, dissapointing really.

Which means ill be voting for them

    :D

  11. It must be trocadderos! at infected mushroom, after dancing for a while i got a geometric overlay over my vision, my head was tingling, and my smile was ear to ear. I also felt really connected to everything and everyone. Reading over this now it seems similar to what people say about empathogens like ecstacy, but there was nothing like that in me at the time. I can't say what i felt was as intense as you, however i felt myself overheating and decided to stop.

I think the """technique""" i used was just really getting into the music, not thinking about anything else except the music, and yeah heating up and being in a generally good mood...

  12. Yeah solid advice guys, muchly appreciated. So 5htp/more salmon/milk/bananas, I can do that

Mescalito; I find myself nodding to many things on that list... but i wasnt sure what contradictive drugs tolerances implies.

I think the metaphysics thing might work actually in that I think maybe i need more exercise. Increasing exercise would lower the amount of adrenaline perhaps? Additionally if ive got this thing with too much energy but no ability to focus it then I should go with it do what my body tells me to.

T, Why would there be too much adrenaline, is it a lifestyle stress thing making too much adrenaline or a lack of serotonin?

  13. Hey all currently pondering self control and the lack thereof and i think a lot of it stems from these "moods" for lack of a better mood where concentration lasts for about 20 seconds and sitting still is impossible, the only cure seems to be socialising and smoking cigarettes with friends/ highly stimulating events.

Symptoms include lack of self control + concentration, restlessness etc

Any fellow sufferers?Any ideas what this could be due to?!

    - Going insane :P

  14. So smoking = bad,

    chimo= effort and dirty pans

If i get some strong tobacco, like rustica or even whiteox, what would be a safeish dose if i was going to cap. I was thinking of just making one 00 cap, but at the same time i hear speak of 1 cigarette eaten being enough to kill you. Any ideas?

  15. Update on person from parks and wildlife. If you plant trees that look like natives or are natives but arent what has been trained to identify, chances are they wont poison it just in case they get in trouble.

Also! look for places with long grass, ie signs of ill maintenance, or a bunch of trees that have branches lower than 4 foot or so.

  16. After reading your post again i was remionded by mild sleep dep problems i had, that were more due to spiritual/mental than brain phisiology. Personally, when im feeling a bit nocturnal, and i cant get to sleep, its because ive spent all day to mindless chores/ assignments which havent allowed my internal monologue to get everything out and rehash over events, so when i go to sleep it takes ages to rehash and then clear my mind and then sleep. My solution was to practice meditation before sleeping, that way my mind isnt saying much and my body is relaxed.

Best of luck with any solutions!
