Are the spots spidermites ? Have you been experiencing some near zero overnight temperatures ?

I have now, a batch of very fresh Nicotiana alata seeds. Not a lot, but obviously they are small. If anyone wants to swap something, email me, or if PMs are working, do that. I also have a few Hakea orthorrhyncha seeds for general interest. Don't forget, my............ TRADE LIST [ 29. June 2003, 01:22: Message edited by: Skulking Lurker ]

Dragibus Curiousa Alkaloid isolated.
Skulking Lurker replied to Thelema's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
I must be appropriately alcoholised tonight,........ I was trying to edit a previous post, when, all of a sudden, a new post appeared! Anyway, it might now be a good time to ask for any rare, bio-assay reports, on the somewhat elusive, sub-tropical, Harkenaceous dexteriosis (false weeping sun-orchid) My specimen flowered on numerous occasions, over the last several years, but never seeded. ......It has now gone the way of the dinosaurs, and I'd very much like to replace it, if anyone has viable seed or cuttings. I never attained enough material to perform a proper extraction. A gnome, down the road, suggests that a solid handful of wet material, diffused in hot water for several minutes, presents an uplifting, almost nervous system rebirthing experience. [ 07. Is that what I've got ? I can't remember what you called them.

Man, I remembered about it when I had just pulled into Brookton. All the way out there, I kept thinking I had forgotten something. By then it was waaaay too late to do anything about it. .......Kicking myself. There will have to be a 'next time' organised soon.

Proposed Federal legislation for 10c bottle and Can deposits

Only problem is, that your carton's price is going up by about $2.40, to require you to take back the packaging. Start stockpiling now, to benefit from the decision. -
Ficus religiosa ? Rauvolfia verticillata? [ 17. May 2003, 19:07: Message edited by: Skulking Lurker ]

Starting to sprout at 8 weeks. Soaked seeds in water for 3 days before planting out. Purely experimental technique, but seems to have worked for me.

Pineapples are nearly always fertile, but highly self-incompatible. So as long as you only have one plant, or a whole field of a single variety, they are generally seedless. But if you have 2 plants of different varieties, and they happen to flower at the same time, they will make large numbers of seeds. The seeds are viable and fairly easy to grow, although slow. I wonder, though, if yours are the size of apple seeds, they may not be good. I'd say they should be more navy bean size.

I would not stuff around. Just get some powdered imidacloprid, mix it up with water to the appropriate strength, and do a complete soil drench of each pot.

Proving that god doesn't exist

I've got some good news, and some bad news for you......... The good news is, that there is no hell. The bad news is, that there is no heaven either. ADVICE: Make the most of your consiousness now. This is no dress rehearsal. When you are dead....... you are dead. People who believe in an afterlife, IMO, give too much regard to the animal, Homo sapien. We are not that much different to other mammals. Certainly not different enough to consider ourselves, all of a sudden, capable of existing beyond our 'physical' machine, the body. Hey, I'd love to be proven wrong !!! I'd even be happy burning in hell for all eternity, if it existed. Sure would be interesting. But, I'm not going to save myself for it, in this life. No way. I'm going to continue experiencing as much as I can, while I can. -
I agree with Darklight. Darwin Awards for the idiots.

Christian Rätsch on shamanism, religion and orgasms ;)
Skulking Lurker replied to Torsten's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Quote...... Like the skeptical mystic Susan Blackmore, he does not believe in ghosts or life after death. He rejects the notion of enlightenment as a state of final knowledge, contending that if the search for knowledge ends, life ends. The point of visionary experiences is the experiences themselves, Ratsch suggests, not the knowledge or beliefs that might be gleaned from them. In the same way, the aim of life is to understand that there is no aim. Actually, Ratsch qualified that principle somewhat at the end of our conversation. After he yawned pointedly, I said I had just one more question: What is the secret of life? "Get high. Heh heh heh." I would have to say, that this basically sums up the view that has evolved through my life experience. -

Ficus religiosa - Bo tree, Bodhi tree - New Strain (Moraceae) I want to grow one of these if anyone has seeds. Also, does anyone have any knowledge or experience regarding this tree ?

The tiny maggot that eventually turns into the fly, eats the roots right at the base of the stem. They help to initiate fungus rot of the roots. From my experience that is. Once controlled, the root problems usually heal themselves with no further treatment.

The effect you are all describing sounds like the opening of your eustation tubes, that connect the throat and inner ear. You have to equalize the pressure difference sometimes when changing altitude, or when scuba diving.

Acacia plebophyllia (sp?) is one such species, but you may find it hard to find and propagate.

Anything like this........ Or......... Musgraveia sulciventris, or Biprorulus bibax, respectively.

Chew a bit, and swallow. They actually taste pretty good.

I did the scout around of the usual haunts in Balingup on Easter Sunday. I think Perth has had more rain than Balingup so far this season. Very little fungus of any description. The ground mulch layer was damp, but sub-surface moisture was basically non-existent. I think another 6 weeks will pass before I try again.
