Dude, I'm very interested. PMs are down at the mo though.I'll wait a couple of days, see if things get back in order.

Hi all,
I recently got a new Epson Stylus Photo 1410 A3+ printer and work in the IT sales industry so have access to many types of photo paper. It can print from regular photo 4x6 paper up to A3+.
I've printed a few plant pics that look more than good enough to frame, so if anyone is interested in getting their plant photos (or anything else) printed on quality paper, shoot me a PM.
Currently I've tested out the Ilford "Smooth Pearl" paper, which looks awesome.
PM for some pricing if you're interested.
Peace,
KlUe

What do you use to kill the scales? I've just tried using beneficial nematodes. Still too soon to tell if it worked. Any anti-scale advice would be much appreciated...I use my pocket knife and gently scrape them off with the blade. Be concise though because if you miss any they'll come back again in numbers.
Also I've heard white oil/water can help very well once u've scraped off.

Dunno if this has been posted before..

Yeah that Debco stuff is not bad hey.Only problem is, its pretty darn expensive - but I'll say its worth the extra dollars than the cheaper brands, from my experience
-
EDIT: What potting media mix are you using?Debco Cacti & Succulent mix; its the only commercial brand I'll touch. I've found with other brands such as Amgrow contain lots of bark and other crap in them, which cacti don't like.

Thanks mateHow old are ur grafts? & where did u get the ss's?
Grafts are various ages mate, the first loph with spidermite damage is about 2 yrs old, second one was done late last year and the TBM about 6 months ago I think.
SS's came from Herbalistics
Lookin great Klue! I just cant get enough of that beautiful clump of buttons!! Your range of trichs is expanding very rapidly - and they are all putting out some fantastic growth Will be good to see them a couple years down the track - you'll have to shift them into a proper garden then!Shame about the spidermite damage - them little buggers certainly know how to do some damage Have you tried spraying them off with the veg oil/water? I tried it on my infestation (much smaller, thankfully!) and it worked a treat. I might have to hit it again to make sure I got them all, but at this point my damaged loph graft has already put out normal areoles and is starting to look a hell of a lot better (thanks for your tips!).
Keep up the good work and keep them awesome pix coming
Cheers mate Yeah, running out of room!
I sprayed my loph with diluted detergent/water - Worked first time, but was too late to stop dmg.. 2 days worth
Hey KlUe,Nice photos mate, but I'm curious what the first couple of succulents are with the white flowers?
Hi KanJe, they're sceletium tortuosum 'T3'
Nice work, I have both the SS01 X SS02 and the SS02 X Juul's Giant, probably got them at the same time possibly the same batch? Mine went completely dormant over the winter, so your ones look heaps bigger and better at this point. How big would you say they were when you got them?Really keen to get mine pumping.
Hey dude, yeah they probably were if you got them from Herbalistics? I love the SS2xJuul's, she's an extremely quick grower; my quickest by far. Not only is she reaching for the sky, her pups are almost as quick They were around 15cm when I got them, now both are close to 30cm - planted them earlier this year. Let me know how yours go during the growing season
Peace,
KlUe

Nice cacti KlUe. I am interested to know how long you have been growing the SS01 X SS02 and the SS02 X Juul's Giant and under what types of conditions?Hi Phosphene - I've had these guys for around 6 months, grown in mainly afternoon direct sunlight. Quite exposed to the regular coastal winds too, they seem to like these conditions - even during the winter.

Hi all,
Just finished scraping off the scale that recently infested (again) my Viridis, and noticed this strange looking bug which was hanging around the ants and scale infestations.
Just taken a macro pic of it for closeup viewing, and was surprised at how intricate the red markings were on it (however detrimental it is to my plants I don't know), but thought it'd be worth posting up here
Anyone know what its called and what it does exactly? Probably feeds the ants or something.
Peace,
Klue

Hey mate, lovely clean setup. Might invest in doing something similar in the future since my cardboard box version is much dodgier.. lol.
Just quick one, thought it might be worth considering replacing the incandescents with warm white fluoros (28w+) which can also create a fair bit of heat if you wanna save some $ on electricity bills.
Cheers

Orissas went wellthinking cambos or syzygy, perhaps cambo to start with...
Cambo's were FOAFs first... and most successful. He reported numerous fat shrooms with good potency
Gluck!

Panda Film = Mylar = incorrectMylar is a shiney silver film similar to auto-tinting film and Panda Film is the one side black, one side white type of plastic sheet
I hear that mirrors are the worst..
I've also heard mylar is quite difficult to find - Only place i've seen it is the local hydro shop who said its not worth the price when compared to panda film.

Any guess on the ages? 2-3 for the penis and 30-40 for the caes??TBM: ~5yrs
Caes: ~5-7yrs (if it was a graft) or ~10-20 (if on own roots)
Do you know the history of the caes? Was it grown from cuttings/seed/poached from the wild? I wouldnt think it'd be much over 20yrs cos the main heads arent big enough (or the smaller heads). Still a gorgeous specimen - would be well worth asking the seller its history (always nice to know their stories )
That massive caes would be over 20 years from seed, even in ideal conditions... IMO

Looking good so far watertrade, look forward to seeing your final results!

Hey KlUe,Looks like your'e in the Sydney area too. I've been looking for some prop sand for ages now and to no avail [was hard enough to get the perlite which had to be ordered from Qld]. Really annoying as I just want some decent prop sand for my cuttings and seeds, can't find any. If you know a good place to get some from can you maybe PM me with the details, would be appreciated.
Might just wait till spring anyway now as I am getting bugger all sun now till spring anyway.
Cheers mate.
Just got the sand from the local nursery mate, its in with all the ferts and stuff. They should be able to get it in for you, if your local one doesn't stock
