    The therapists chair.

The best thing to do IMO Sonny Jim is to go and talk to the place/authority of the place about what happened, talk it over rationally, get your point across and get a solid answer out of them, i assume it would have to be a formal complaint, i've no experience in it, but i'd imagine if you took it verbally to them, they'd be obliged to turn it into a formal complaint, don't let these things slide, get your story straight and take it to them. Ideally you probably should have started moving to prove you are fully mobile, give them no option than to not start the procedure in the first place, but honestly take the complaint to them.

"alcohol costs us 36 billion a year"

a culture to be proud of! what frustrates me are all the know it all media presenters on the idiot box, scratching their head in disbelief saying, oh, do you think it's time to think about the way we look at alcohol?? whilst all their previous chatter throughout the years has been making snide remarks about any illegal substance and how fucked up and addicted any user of them are, and how we must be fearful of these people and substances for our children, but gloat that alcohol is this great social tool and it's just not australia without a bbq and a beer, fucking dickheads. Then when some external person from shows gets interviewed and finally brings up a rational argument about the reality of illegal substances, and their safety compared to legal substances, they make some smart arse joke and ignore the rational issue raised and move on

    Unknown Psilocybe

great photos PD! found what i thought was a sub in Yarra Bend Park years ago, looked like the stamets photo of P. zapotecorum, even if it was a different species, dynamic little buggers within single species all the same. haha just noticed the happiest winter pooch.

    Help moderating my pot intake

glad someone said it!! people need to take responsibility for themselves and learn self discipline! it's a complex issue, yet people always blame something else and never take a good hard look at themselves and their own choices.

    Bizarre Blueing of Amanita muscaria

Get in touch with the managers of the plantation and ask them about their management re: herbicide use. Am not totally up on (private or public) plantation management, avoid them like the plague, I assume public ones are still managed for timber use in the long term, people access and somewhat fire maintained. Most herbicide use in plantations are done in the first few years, during thinning later in life as well as post (and potential pre) harvest. If competition increases in mature stands i'd assume it would be used then as well. Since it looks like the obvious choice, i'd say get in touch with the managers (which may span a few diff. authorities and shitkickers underneath those few i.e. private contractors, at least that can make the equation easier... lol awesome? if herbicide, I can't really see the excitement, but each to their own.

    Bizarre Blueing of Amanita muscaria

Does looks quite herbicide-y / dye like. Immediate surrounding vegetation information would be of use, but long gone now given these are old photos, if not off target damage from weed control, you can get dickheads spraying them deliberately. good to see ya ramon!

    historic tree ring barked

To me if it's not a disgruntled person, or the rich fuck view issue, the other people i've had experience with were just mindless teenagers who didn't really know any better, educated people yet it's just a bit of fun for them, something to do, those people reflected the status of society to me imo, they didn't mean to do stupid shit, it was just them senselessly doing what they do in a lost society. I've done stupid environmental shit even in my apparent highly educated and conscious late school years, can't fathom why, we just didn't think and our broader societal upbringing just didn't instill the values that would make us not do the shit we did, there's a reason why psychedelics are used in 'adult' initiation in the environmentally conscious peoples of the globe, and there's a reason why western society tries to crush that initiation and essentially has! I don't really think the old growth logging issue is really relevant in this thread, most people if not all here think it's fucked and would prefer a different approach to our resources, and while that argument is relevant for people complaining about this but support or ignore habitat loss issues etc, it really doesn't have much of a place here imo, not saying not to mention it, but it's preaching to the converted, well not converted, don't think many were ever on the other side and if so just a societal, generational or environmental upbringing.

    Cactus pics

glad they are appreciated, really needed something to brighten my morning today, so took heaps, most turned out real blurry but a few made it okay I have taken pictures of the hard grown stunted 'peruvianus' seedlings a few months back, but just not happy with them and hard to get representation, think i'll get them up when they are potted up when the weather comes good, very wet at the moment, but not far off. Old Teds macrogonus (?), very interesting watching the seed 'pachs' grow along side this cut, you can see so many characteristics in each other. The favourite is starting to show traits similar to the other ones in my eyes, haven't really seen that until i had a good look today, maturity is starting, but still different. The later ground planting, can't wait for it's spination to start up from the planting damage, dormancy breaking.

    Acacia Maidenii

IMO boiling water soak, sow swollen ones approx 1cm in a fine compost coarse sharp sand mix (have also used plain seed raising mix), water in well, give them good light and warmth, don't keep watering them or they'll rot (within reason, if it gets very dry moisten them up), done and done, if you stuff with the roots imo esp. acacia you will never get them to their full genetic potential, sure you can get huge fantastic plants, but not what they are fully capable of, direct seeding in favorable conditions is always preferable. Species to species differ of course, but general rules are good for general species.

    Seeking Lophophora williamsii -

afaik that's a really decent price for them in Australia. The site is run by a good member here and afaik he would be trying to do the best price he can.

    Acacia spp

with the limited info A. melanoxylon Hard to tell, could do easy in person, possibly decurrens, if not mearnsii or dealbata, can't remember flowering times or colours, piece of piss in the field though..generally. Looks more decurrens A. baileyana A. longifolia complex, either longifolia or sophorae.

    Please Find the Time

That really sucks mesc, hope he recovers to as pain free as possible, not nice for anyone to have to live in pain; and a terrible way for his family to find out. With the media, well we can't expect much more off them, most are savage arseholes imo. Best wishes to him and family.

    Antiquity of Entheogens and Ethnobotanicals

Seems not, but if interested in the booze line, seem to recall a brewery being uncovered in peru or ecuador or somewhere near there, memory says it was from national geographic, and again memory thinks it was an annual thing where people would gather from great distance, huge amounts of chicha or something similar were made, then once a year a massive intoxication for days/weeks until it was exhausted, same time next year yeah?

    Disposable Petries, PC'able??

Don't PC them lol melty melty. maybe there are different grades, i remember one fella talking through a tek and he was pc-ing them from memory, i was a bit confused but thought i'd give it a go, and with my plates it wasn't good ;) Re-using is a good idea if you want to get the most out of the resource, if you do clean them up and go to re-use, h202 in the agar can be a help, as well as aggressive cultures. I've never used them, am sorta interested, maybe one day, might be worth looking into glass plates if you want to constantly re-use :D I don't re-use them, i don't really like wasting resources, but i've been running from a single box for many years and still have a fair few sleeve left, the cultures go a long way and I only start new sleeves for mass prop, re-invigorating cultures or starting new lines.
