shruman replied to poisonshroom's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
Good stuff pshroom, great to see these getting about. Herbalistics also have another dwarf mutant called enano which looks like another great candidate for bonsai: http://herbalistics....a6a613af3bfc773 Apparently he got alot of variation among the tucanaca seed. -

"In NSW, unless it's a fixed roadside camera, I think they still need to pull you over and issue a ticket. So you should be fine. Other states (territories) however like ACT have mobile cameras that can ping you, then send the bill later. But I haven't heard of that happening in NSW" NSW too, I got pinged that way, I just bought the car & when i saw the flash i knew i was fucked almost convinced myself it somehow got lost in the system but it eventualy came in the mail. If you did'nt see the flash I doubt yuo will get a ticket.

I think it is in OZ I have seen either it or something that looks very similiar on silver birch trees here in Aus. Dunno how birch would go in the daintree though... Probly not your cup o tea but anyway: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SIBERIAN-CHAGA-MUSHROOM-IMMORTALITY-ORIYEN-BIO-CHAGA-/251102924708?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3a76e68fa4 Maybe you could share more on your enthusiasm for this mushroom if you wish to encourage more serious discussion.

Awesome peoples sounds like we have a meet. "If people aren't too sure about arrival times - maybe we could arrange to meet somewhere inside? In the herb garden or cactus garden - nice place to lurk for half an hour or so while people trickle in?" Yeah I think that is a good idea, herb garden 11 ok?, I'll probly get there 10ish myself but the herb garden looks pretty central & easy enought to swing by. Legal till they bust ya... "A SIPPY Downs man has become possibly the first person on the Sunshine Coast to be charged with drug possession for a satchel of "potpourri" that up until nine months ago was legal. Potpourri traditionally refers to sweet smelling satchels of dried leaves, herbs and flower petals, but Christopher Peter Jack faced court for simply possessing a "smokeable" version of it and also a "bong" with which it had been used. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paula Murphy told the court that when police pulled Jack over, he assured them he had no illegal cannabis in his car and willingly revealed two satchels of the dried leafy substance, which he believed was legal. However, a certificate of analysis was returned in mid July which confirmed the items included "synthetic cannabinoids", which was declared illegal last year. Sgt Murphy told the court Jack had bought the satchels after being approached by a man in the street. "He thought it was legal because he had previously bought it from the Off Ya Tree shop in Brisbane," she said. Defence lawyer Michael Robinson noted that Jack worked in the mines and smoked the potpourri because "it doesn't reflect negatively in urine tests". It had the "same packaging and had a website address on it, so he bought it in the belief that it was legal," Mr Robinson said. In a bizarre twist, if the substance was cannabis Jack may have qualified for a non-monetary penalty. "If it had been the actual drug itself, I could have sent you to a program to teach you about the dangers of drugs, but that's not possible," acting Magistrate Andrew Walker said. Jack was fined $350. The previous state government added about 19 new chemicals to the Drugs Misuse Regulations 1987 Act last November. Among them were those previously regarded as providing "a legal high" but could nonetheless be toxic. A staffer at Off Ya Tree in Brisbane yesterday said the store sold only items that were legal." http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/potpourri-has-man-on-drug-charge-sunshine-coast/1521115/

Ahh yes the bong sucking, nang chugging, trout clubing, top hat wearing type of gentleman... I wish you two well Its been very hot for spring here & bees seem quite plentiful, I kept having to tell my daughter to watch her step the other day when we were out bush.
-
"I was planning on just wearing skinny jeans with a few potatoes in my jocks. ( just gotta make sure the taters are at the front, not the back)" & if you want a hot potato you can just slip them in her jocks... Nice one Bro, all the best to both of you, theres something about spring, maybe all those brids & bees.

Yeah I tend to agree now, it seems obvious my sense of scale was way off Hemans legs should have sparked me to the fact that plant does not have enough girth to be a Super Pedro. Interesting PD says J2 is so variable because mine looks like 2 totaly different plants from the original growth & the growth since rooting up & looks somewhat different to all the pics in this thread "they are all san pedro, that one there, thats a hybrid, but they are all san pedro" "that ones the short spine hybrid, that ones the long spine hybrid"

Another one, I still find this fascinating. http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=31487&st=0&p=356826&hl=+flower%20+pup*&fromsearch=1entry356826

Its more the temperature than the hours of light they get that will send your cactus into dormancy. Not exactly sure what temperature is needed to make them go dormant but if your house is comfortable they probly will not go dormant. If they are warm with little/no light they will etiolate ( grow tall & skinny searching for light & may lack chlorophyll). I overwinter in the shed ;)

I'll be there. I'll be spending the saturday 20th at the botanic gardens, so if anyone else is keen to have a wander & a chat... I could bring some seeds to giveaway if anyones interested.

NEW ADHD guidelines approve the use of ritalin in children younger than seven
shruman replied to IndianDreaming's topic in Chill Space
"ritalin is methylphenidate, adderall is dextroamphetamine " Adderall is a mixture of dex & racemic amphetamine salts. The only good thing about it is that the kids rarely get the drugs because their parents are the ones taking them or selling them. In alot of cases it seems like a natural progression, sugar, coke, redbull, ritalin, meth... -
Nice plant. To me this plant seems to have more in common with the Super Pedro/cordo/Lance than wht gets around as scop in Aus but wether Super Pedro etc is a hybrid or just a phenotype of scopulicola or perhaps a naturaly occurring intermediate is still unclear. How does it feel?, scops have that very distinct bumpy/pimpley skin while Super Pedro has it also its not as pronounced. I think the flowers are more similir to Super pedro than to scop aswell, not the best pics but I dug out a couple for comparison. Super Pedro scopulicola From what I have seen of scopulicola in Aus & even pictures like Zelly's what we call scopulicola is either a very stable species with little phenotypic variation or possibly even all the same clone. Someone realy needs to goto Bolivia & sort out wether scop is a very stable species & super Pedro etc are hybrids or is a species with similiar phenotypic variations as seen in other Tricho species & that what we call Super Pedro etc are just phenotypes of scopulicola. On the weird skin thing Sausage Plant does the same thing alot for me & I have seen others post pics of theirs that did the same.
