Yeah i check em out, always nice to see what peeps have up for grabs, mostly use them to list stuff though ;) Would be nice if it was easier to relist stuff I asked Torsten about this & he said he would look into it but the relist item feature still does not work. The edit feature could be tweaked aswell I feel, after a day or 2 you can no longer edit the ad so it makes ads with multiple items impossible to update whats sold so the seed & plant exchange works better for that sort of thing. For some things its good to do both a classified ad & a seed & plant exchange thread, people can discuss stuff in a seed & plant exchange thread & a classified has good visibilty, maybe even put a link to one another aswell. I miss the old SnS, that was a ripper but it did need at least one seller with listings up all the time & when Gom boycotted it it just turned to a ghost town unfortunately but the setup was great. Overall I do like the feature

    crazy looking, labeled loph sp

Looks like mealy george. With such a rare & gorgeous plant whatever you do please don't go dumping anything on it without comprehensive research 1st wether it maybe good for controlling your pest it might not necessarily be good for your plant. Check out what other people have used successfully on the same species/genus/family & then test a very small section of your plant. Stunning flowers BTW

Legal Weed: Is it really legal?

They get their ducks all in a line, "people have plead guilty", "death of a man in NSW', "man seriosly injured his leg", "anyone can buy it online", "schoolies week" & bam they have justification. Damn journalists suck, such weak fucking questions we really don't have any alternative media. Legal till they bust ya...

    Help: synthetic powder

Probably a research chemical, possibly A-PVP, no way to know unless they analyse what they have. Should be treated like any other possible research chemical if used at all. Educate themselves about Research Chemicals & A-PVP as theres a good possibility it is that. Start with an insanely small dose (sub milligram{extremely good scales or dilution is necessary}) & carefully titrate up until effects are found. May not be what some people want to hear but if they are gonna do it thats WWSD (What Would Sasha Do).
  16. "Trichocereus bertramianus synonym of Echinopsis bertramiana Trichocereus bertramianus Backeberg, Kaktus-ABC 200, 1935" Helianthocereus bertramianus. Ok so its probly just a spelling mistake.
  17. "Trout does mentions them as a "recognised Hybrid" and they are in the SS catalogue. I mean is T bertramineus a species/ recognised cv or not, what are its defining characteristics? If its not it IS a scam. An unstable hybrid x with a stable cv (in this case SS02 which may or may not be stable but from pics of offspring do seem to produce fairly true ) might as well be Trichocereus sp? x SSO2 which produce say 1:100 of desired genetics from SS02 popping up in any or all the offspring, but as it has been used as a male element of this cross?? Who knows lol. Which goes back to the other thread your inferring. edit to simplify what I am saying. Growing Cacti from seed is a roll of the dice at best. In my opinion hybridised seed of 2 stable cultivars would most likely produce more consistently uniform offspring. However if you account for hybrid vigour you again have to get your dice out. lol How to start an augment about nothing on an internet forum 101. lol" Bugger & blast your questions are making my head hurt... in a good way. As Trichocereus are by & large self infertile any SS02 offspring should be a hybrid with something else so the offspring should not be a cultivar until they are propagated via cutting making them a cultivar. As SS02 appears to be & apparently is a hybrid it is only a cultivar because it has been propagated by cuttings. Wether it's traits (I guess you mean morphological?) are dominant is an issue aside from it being a cultivar, I think? Its folly to think an apparent hybrid like SS02 that is only a cultivar because it has been clonaly propagated could be a cultivar in the same way that Icaro's is a cultivar ie producing stable progeny through seeds as you cannot breed it with another SS02 but you can breed 2 seed grown Icaro's. Head is still hurting...
  18. Yeah I was only taking the piss about your previous comments on hybrids being a profiteering scam. It was supposed to be a laugh hopefully with you (judging by your LOL's it was) if not once again I put my foot right in it. "Trichocereus bertramianus (=Helianthocereus bertramianus) Columnar monster with stems up to 10" in diameter and 6'–8' tall. The numerous ribs are completely covered with many 2–3" white and yellow bristly spines giving the plant the appearance of having golden hair. Creamy white diurnal flowers. Grows at 12,000' La Paz, Bolivia. Z7b–8a" http://pastebin.com/AAjXt2Xn From the description sounds like something I have that I nicknamed 'Bertha', have no idea what Bertha is & noones been able to help me with an ID, but that description is better than any I can find for it especialy the diurnal white flower bit. Pics here: http://www.shaman-au...ha&fromsearch=1 I wonder where that description came from? How do you define an unstable cultivar stillman?, most cactus cultivars are propagated through cuttings so a hybrid is a hybrid until its mass propagated via cutting making it a cultivar, my understanding of it anyway? I was under the impression diurnal flowers were quite rare for Trichocereus but apparently this was a key delineating feature for the now superfluous Helianthocereus. Which reminds me that EG did try to help with an ID on Bertha suggesting possibly Helianthocereus poco which apparently does have a var alba as opposed to the usual pink flowers. I took the suggestio on board but felt differently as I have what I was told was a poco that apparently has pink floers & appears quite different. "At one time the Helianthocereus species also were included in Trichocereus—the tall-growing species despite their uniformly divergent habit, and the lower-growing ones irrespective of the fact that, like all members of Helianthocereus, they have diurnal flowers which are also brightly coloured; consequently there was continuing uncertainty as to where they should be referred. But here again, segregation has proved beneficial; and a similar delimitation can usefully be carried out within the Genus Trichocereus, since the flowers of the Chilean species, which in some cases remain open for several days, are also more bellshaped-funnelform" http://www.shaman-au...h=1

7 Tragic Truths Of Quitting Weed

Forgetting the whole convoluted & ambiguos way he uses the word 'addiction'. I have personaly experienced alot of what he says but I also aknowledge others like nab have little or none of these issues so I think its a bit irresponsible in telling people you will experience these symptoms as opposed to telling them they may experience these symptoms seems like his setting some people up for a hard time they may otherwise not encounter. Otherwise some decent advice but seems like the commonsense advice most people here would & have given maybe we are all 'addiction specialists' & never even knew it.

Just watched the doco & I thought it was OK. I don't understand why if they had such clear cut evidence such as highly elevated aluminium levels why they did not have a sit down interview with the EPA? Or why they did not have any sit down interviews with any of the representatives they spoke to & instead just chased them down a hallway? Why did they fail at such basics of investiagtive jounalism unless sensationalism was their goal?
  22. Hmmmm, sounds like you got scammed, please dispose of your seedlings & grafts before you perpetuate the scam any further ;)
  23. Its now at 32%, like always stoners are just late to the party. I think its realy heartening even at its current level, its a big ask going from illegal in every state & being the same schedule as heroin with no recognised medical value & a harmful drug to being legal. Colarado was alot different where they had legal medical use in other states than legal medical use in their state & now legal recreational use. I think that gradual transition makes it much easier for most people to accept so keep in mind the question they are asking. Check out this poll its on the same page if you scroll down a bit. 24. "The Filter Is Dead: Australian Government Dumps Controversial Filtering Project Almost three years ago now, Senator Stephen Conroy stepped up to the plate to deliver a bold new vision. A vision of a filtered, “safer” internet. The plan was met by hostility from internet rights activists, poiticians, internet users, internet service providers and interest groups alike. Tonight, however, the Labor government’s proposed mandatory internet filter is dead. From the get-go, we made our feelings known about the government’s plan to filter the internet, and neither was the broader population of Australia’s internet users. The original filter proposition, aired in a 2007 paper on how Labor would ensure the safety of kids online, would have seen the government impose a mandatory “clean feed” on Austraian internet users: Way back when Kevin Rudd was the Prime Minister, this was the plan: A Rudd Labor Government will require ISPs to offer a ‘clean feed’ internet service to all homes, schools and public internet points accessible by children, such as public libraries. Labor’s ISP policy will prevent Australian children from accessing any content that has been identified as prohibited by ACMA, including sites such as those containing child pornography and X-rated material. Labor will also ensure that the ACMA black list is more comprehensive. It will do so, for example, by liaising with international agencies such as Interpol, Europol, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre and ISPs to ensure that adequate online protection is provided to Australian children and families. That ACMA blacklist turned out to contain some of the worst of the worst sites on the internet, including but not restricted to child pornography sites and other high-impact content. The list was leaked in 2009, although the government never admitted that it was the actual list. The most concerning thing about the leaked list was the presence of several sites not pertaining to high-impact content that would offend children. A dentist website, for example, was one of the results. That gave way to suspicions that the blacklist wasn’t entirely unfallible. Add to that the fact that the content set to be filtered was constantly under debate. Would the filter block gambling sites? BDSM or bondage material or so-called “golden showers” as Senator Conroy himself discussed during the filter back-and-forth? We’ll never really know for sure. Never missing a chance to leap on a popular issue, the Federal Opposition said that they would oppose the filter and everything that it stood for. High-profile members of the IT and business community came out to oppose the filter. In August 2010, Conroy admitted to ARN that the filter would likely never make it through the parliament. All had been quiet on the filter front for a few months, as Conroy continued to promise “surprises” when it came to the clean feed proposal. As Conroy and the government quietly worked away on a carefully calculated retreat plan, three internet service providers were working to implement a filter of their own. The ISPs, including Optus and Telstra, worked to deploy a filter that would block the Interpol blacklist — a list containing the very worst and most objectionable material ever to hit the internet. And yet as the deployment of the Interpol filter came and went, nobody made a sound, nor a protest, nor an angry letter. Nobody cared that child porn was going to be blocked, people cared when they thought it might be more. Snap back to present day, and Conroy’s office has just issued a statement saying that it will walk away from mandatory internet filtering, and instead urge ISPs to implement the same Interpol filter that ISPs like Telstra and Optus are already running. The statement isn’t live online just yet, but according to the outlets Conroy gave it to ahead of time, the new filtering regime will cover 90 per cent of the population, based on the ISPs that have already agreed to come on board with the plan. The government isn’t giving ISPs a choice, either. It’s using a section of the Telecommunications Act to compel ISPs to comply with the Interpol blacklist. According to ZDNet, iiNet is one of the ISPs that is already on board. So that’s it. Australia’s mandatory internet filter is finally — as the Coalition put it — dead, buried and cremated.
