  2. In September 2007, Reznor continued his attack on Universal Music Group at a concert in Australia, urging fans there to "steal" his music online instead of purchasing it legally. Reznor went on to encourage the crowd to "steal and steal and steal some more and give it to all your friends and keep on stealin.’”

The man is a god — covered by Johnny Cash (and it’s the final song on that album, worked with David Bowie..)

Get into them if you haven’t already :)

  3. This is becoming my theme song

Some people might say my life is in a rut
But I'm quite happy with what I got
People might say that I should strive for more
But I'm so happy I can't see the point
    Somethings happening here today
A show of strength with your boys brigade
And I'm so happy and you're so kind
You want more money of course I don't mind
To buy nuclear textbooks for atomic crimes
And the public gets what the public wants
But I want nothing this society’s got

    I'm going underground (going underground)
Well the brass bands play and feet start to pound
    Going underground (going underground)
Well let the boys all sing and the boys all shout for tomorrow

Some people might get some pleasure out of hate
Me, I've enough already on my plate
People might need some tension to relax
Me, I'm too busy dodging between the flak
What you see is what you get
You've made your bed, you better lie in it
You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies wash you down and their promises rust
You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns
And the public wants what the public gets
But I don't get what this society wants

    I'm going underground (going underground)
Well the brass bands play and feet start to pound
    Going underground (going underground)
So let the boys all sing and the boys all shout for tomorrow
We talk and talk until my head explodes
I turned on the news and my body froze
The braying sheep on my TV screen
Make this boy shout, make this boy scream!

    Going underground
    Going underground!
    I'm going underground!
    I'm going underground!
These braying sheep on my TV screen
Make this boy shout, make this boy scream!
    Going underground (going underground)
Well, let the brass bands play and feet start to pound
    Going underground (going underground)
Well, let the boys all sing and let the boys all shout
    Going underground (going underground)
Well, let the brass bands play and feet go pow, pow, pow
    Going underground (going underground)
So let the boys all sing and let the boys all shout for tomorrow

    Lol yeah no worries

Nice to see others familiar with some of carls work, i didnt know about his work on anxitety disorders tho but must say he hit the personality groups right on the head.

Its a pretty full on movie. Seen it a couple of times

Carl Jung is the man. I think it’s a disaster he isn’t taken more seriously. I mean things like the archetype of The Wounded Healer (Chiron the Centaur).. So badly needed but Jung is generally dismissed as a mystic.

Im sorry to hear about marriage. I hope things improve for you both..i doubt it was either of your faults, it more so reflects on a insecure society if you look at the bigger picture. ..not happing to just you.

I feel things like anxiety, depression ext are primitive survival functions if you get me. Back in cave man days if you were feeling depressed it was probably due to poor conditions no food ect it was motivation to change the situation, same with anxiety back in neanderthal days it probably due to a dangerous unstable environment it was motivation to get the fuck out of there.

Now days we get locked into life situations the fears that trigger these feelings have change were now in a position were you cant escape

The reason behind my original question was to try understand what gose on in proples minds, ill try to explain it better.

Sometimes i cross paths  with people, seems like they got there shit together job house car kids ect but they dont know why they feel miserable. I explain to them the bigger picture on whats going on how essentialy there slaves to system there not free, there basically caught up in the lie that this road to happyness.

Then i get hit with with irrational anger.

Wich in turn makes me feel why bother trying to explain it to them, to me knowing sad truths opens choices on if you wanna play that game or walk that path or go naaa fuck that i dont want any part of that an then walk your direction. Im not out to ruin people's lifes but fuck if they ask me my thoughts im gonna tell them. Im wanna give them choices not piss em off

But i guess its part of the parcel

Oh the marriage thing was 15 years ago, but thanks.

Carl Jung said pretty much what you said :)

Anger is one of the various primal emotions our culture represses. The movie Once Were Warriors is good in showing that..

(Very violent if you haven’t seen it)

sab is a cool place and it's not dying, slowing down for sure but it'll never die

even if all that remains just me talking to myself it'll never die

Haha! Sounds like me. I have entire threads (it has “diaries”) on another forum where I post stuff I find and write about it.

Australian forums are always slower than international. I’ve been on and off this for nearly 20 years, so it seems pretty hardy. Social media is the pits and is really a huge market research data collection tool.

For shits an giggles out of interest,

Would you rather live life as one big happy lie or a series of sad truth?

The latter. Of course I try to avoid pain, but at the end of the day I don’t see the point of living a big happy lie.. I also can’t avoid the truth for long because my anxiety eventually gets really bad eg. I had to leave my marriage because things were very wrong. Whether those things were his fault or mine (most likely a combination) is hard to say, but my anxiety is like this mechanism which pretty much forces me out of toxic situations.

I think this is a good representation of “happy lie” vs “sad truth”. People argue about whether Fight Club is Nihilistic or Existentialist. I say Existentialist.. Similar to Nietzsche, who I’d say was very existentialist

    You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame;

how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?

Sorry to hear about your condition Zefside95.

You would be a good candidate for such a treatment but I would err on the side of caution if those alkaloids made you feel weird or unwell in the past.

Unfortunately I don't have any flowers or leaves at the moment but I do have some seeds I could send you so you could grow your own. Let me know if you'd like some.

On a side note, heavily increasing your intake of fresh bananas, avocados, ginger and ginko biloba would also be greatly beneficial for such a condition but I guess you probably already knew that. And yes ciggies don't help with their vein narrowing side-effects.

If you are in serious pain right you could head to a chemist and ask for Xylocaine 10% Spray 50ml or Xylocaine 5% Cream 30g. There are others as well. No prescription required. No point in suffering if temporary pain relief is easily available over the counter. Hope that helps.

Thank you :) I was talking to this guy last night who is also having trouble with doctors. He made a good point — that a lot of doctors are too scared to do anything that goes “outside the square” because there are more and more legal issues they face if something goes wrong. But it isn’t just us, he said, people are suffering and need help. I’m really not sure what the answer is, but yeah I’m guessing this thing with my hands is pretty moderate compared with some of the problems people must be having.

Although this is an old post, Datura Wrightii is used as a topical preparation to relieve moderate to severe pain. A sun tea made from 7x leaves and 7x flowers is used. The patient soaks the feet or hands in the preparation until pain relief occurs, usually about 20 min. This traditional preparation is used by patients suffering from abrasions and bruises, arthritis pain, muscle pain from over exertion, moderate back and neck pain, bursitis, gastrointestinal pain, joint pain, foot pain and other types of pain. It would most likely work on tattoo pain as well. This topical preparation is relatively safe, effective and has used for many years. This plant delivers small amounts of active ingredient to the skin, disrupts the pain cycle and avoids systemic toxicity.

The plant contains the water soluble alkaloids, Hyoscyamine and Scopolamine. Scopolamine crosses the skin very effectively and inhibits pain. Hyoscyamine and Atropine do not efficiently cross the skin. It is not known if Scopolamine inhibits these pain interactions. Scopolamine potentiates the analgesic effects of Enkephalin and Morphine which may have long term effects in pain treatment. Scopolamine is also a very effective antidepressant. It is known that antidepressants are useful in chronic pain treatment.

    Heya

They use that in travel sickness pills.. It makes me feel really weird (in a not-good way). I need a painkiller for my hands though. It seems to be Raynaud’s Syndrome (runs in the family) but it’s come on fast & it can get really really bad. I saw a doctor a few days ago & of course I have to get a blood test then see her in a fortnight. I asked for advice/relief in the meantime and was told “quit smoking”. Pharmacists have given me equally helpful suggestions like “Panadol”.

Do you think that’d help? How could I get some of the topical stuff? Help!!

(Sorry OP for hijacking.. My brother grew poppies which came in handy when he got a 6 hour tattoo).

    Hi all,

I've been lazily swapping plants and info over the Facebook group for sometime but thought I'd become a proper member here.

    My interests include:

    Ecological conservation

    Plant identification

    Fungi identification

    Photography

    Harm reduction

Gifting of seeds and propagation material

I'd like to become quite active with plant and fungi identification on this forum and hope it helps towards harm reduction.

I've met a few of you already through an Acacia giveaway and hope to meet more at the Sydney meetup next month.

    Thanks for having me!

Hello :) I’m new/old.. I’m the Shaman-Australis groupie haha. Joined back in around 2000 because my husband was into ethnobotany and I just thought the people here were cool. I do have an interest in the whole scene (especially the “shaman” side) and people here are way more progressive/interesting than most.

    See you around :innocent_n:
