Burned some piles today. I dunno how much charcoal I have but it is a lot and still have over 20 trees to cut and burn. Excited to get this garden going next spring. It'll be about .25 acres in 2018 and hoping to expand from there each year. -

I have a bunch of seedlings I need to get pictures. I bought a master grow pack from Australia and I've been buying from from misplant. As well as other sources, thousands of seed. Those big spiders are all over the property as are smaller ones that patrol the cactus pots keeping bugs away -

Anyone have any interest in native texas plants? If so post up what you want and if I come across any seeds I'll let you know. I can get tons of yaupon holly seeds when the time is right. Makes a good caffeine tea. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilex_vomitoria 'Seabeans' wash up on the local beach quite often I have hundreds. I have not tried to grow any yet but will try soon. The girlfriend is prettt attached to our bean collection but I'm sure I could persuade her to let me trade some off (I found most of them..but don't tell her that) http://www.seabean.com/locations/tEXAS/Desirable-Sea-Beans-Texas.asp Looking forward to doing some trades with the guys and gals down under. Love the site even donated to server costs, I'd hate to see the wealth of information dissappear here.

Here's what I'm doing to the property I just bought. It is covered in trees, mostly cedar elms and hack berry but I do have a few pecan trees. I'm cutting down the hack berry trees because they have the tendency of falling over without much warning. Green and thriving one day fallen over the next. Plus I need the space for the veggies, fruit tree, cactus, and other medicinal plants/trees. I've been piling up the trees to burn(hopefully saturday) I'm not goin to burn them all the way to ash that way I have plenty of charcoal to till into the soil along with some ash. I fish a lot and the harbor has fish cleaning stations so I'm going to start tilling in fish scraps. My mom has horses and a few buddies have cows so i can get all the poo I could possibly ever need. I'll be composting all the leafs that drop this fall as well. The soil is already pretty darn fertile being close to the river but in hoping it will be supercharged by the time I am finished amending it. I plan on building up and tilling in a bunch of coarse sand, perlite, and small rocks for all my cactus that will border the property lines so I have some good drainage(we get a lot of rain on the mid Texas coast). Do yall think these plans are good? What would you do different? Love me some home grown veggies. This year my dad has tomato plants that were 8ft+ tall in his organic garden. He loves his tomatoes. -
Thanks!

Today I opened up two boxes one containing a spineless scop. The other containing a no name peruvianus, and two different bridgesii 'space man's cut' and a 'loopicus'. Never heard the bridgesii but they were healthy and needed a home. I'll get some pictures tomorrow. -

Psychotria carthagenensis (fresh berries giveaway)
Matagordamudskipper replied to Justin Credible's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
Nope not in Australia. But thanks for considering if I was! -
Surf and offshore fishing are my favorite past time. Jack crevalle on top water(shark bait). The shark was a 7'7" sandbar shark and successfully released. My local beach is definitely one of the top bull redfish spots in Texas. This year I've caught a lot over 44" up to 47 1/4", majority of them 45". I release all of them.

Have any more? I plan on donating to the server and will be listing up some seeds to break the ice as a new member. -
What is yalls favorite cactus in your collection? What is a cactus that you would like to add to your collection? Tough decision but I really like the TPQC x TPM my buddy gave me. It's uniqueness is something else. As far as one I'd like to get would be Blue Sharxx or CSD. But so many others I hope to grow someday.

Yeah man a top 10 would be better! Ss02 x serra blue Mallacht cut Taz Psycho0 x n1 Ohlone Just to name a few that I like in my collection(I actually love them all). An older guy I worked for in college gave me one of the lophs he collected from the peyote garden of texas back in the day. It's definitely mu most prized cacti. It was in rough shape from neglect so I grafted it to a pedro. I expect it to start pupping any day. I'm eager to get some pollen from it too.
