In honour of Tim Payne Today we're sharing a video of Tim Payne, co-founder of the botanical charity Entheogenesis Australis (EGA). Tim passed away earlier this year after losing a battle with cancer. The video was recorded at the tenth anniversary EGA conference in 2014. Tim talks openly about his life, travels and growth through a long relationship with entheogens, LSD and MDMA. He discusses consciousness, psychology, neuroscience, martial arts, meditation, drugs, sex, addiction, ageing and the positive outcomes of intentional but sporadic drug use over his life. Tim will be eternally missed by his friends, family and the EGA crew. Without question, he lived a vibrant and inspirational life that many of us could only hope to achieve. Please enjoy Tim's talk and share it with any of your friends and family that may have known him.

Garden States - A Forum for Cultivating Ethnobotanical Plants, Knowledge and Community Get your Tickets now The Ethnobotany community will come together to honour the 'Mother Plants' this Mother's day @ Garden States 2019 Join us for a full day of ethnobotanical knowledge sharing and discussion on psychedelic plants and culture. The symposium will be an indoor community gathering comprised of keynote lectures, panel discussions, workshops and a market space all celebrating the sacred garden and value of the botanic world. Please let any like-minded friends know about the symposium and encourage them to join us on May 12 for a day of critical thinking about psychedelic plants and related compounds. Two international presenters Charly Bedrossian and David Nickles will join a host of botanically minded local talent for a full day of programming over two spaces. In keeping with the mother plants two Australian female elders, Aunty Fran Bodkin and Monica Gagliano will be presenting on the day. Scientist and D'harawal Elder Aunty Fran Bodkin will present a lecture on plant associations between medicinal native species from a holistic perspective incorporating both Western and Indigenous science. Fran is the author of the legendary 'Encyclopedia Botanica: The essential reference guide to native and exotic plants in Australia', which contains over 11,000 entries on Australian native plants. Scientist and author Monica Gagliano, PhD will speak on plant communication, sentience and the new field of bioacoustics. Monica is the author of the recent book 'Thus Spoke the Plant' and has travelled the globe speaking about the value of the botanic world with such luminaries of the botany scene as Michael Pollan. The Cannabis College (Amsterdam) head gardener Charly Bedrossian will be sharing his knowledge on the cannabis industry and cannabis law, the importance of education, and cultivation techniques gained from years of experience in the field. We will also be joined by one of the most outspoken representatives of the psychedelic underground, David Nickles (USA) of the DMT-Nexus, who will be giving both a keynote address on cutting edge ethnopharmacological research endeavours and hosting a discussion group on seed sharing and Psychedelic Sustainability. Meet in the main carpark where there is a structure with some info about the history of the park. The park is a stunning botanical location so aside from mushrooms there is much to see. Pack for all weather and it’s a park on a steep but stunning hillside. Synopsis: Join us for a stroll through the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges to find and learn about the fungi that reside there. Discover information about fungi identification, habitats, edibility, their role in the environment, and get practical, 'hands-on' tips. Please dress accordingly for the weather and wear appropriate footwear as we may head off tracks and into the woods. Greeting I am putting together the program for an up and coming EGA event on May 12th titled 'Garden States - A Forum for Cultivating Ethnobotanical Plants, Knowledge and Community'. Sadly in the many years of EGA (to my knowledge), we have never been able to make good connections going with first nations peoples and have an indigenous voice on bush foods and plant medicines. I know EGA would love to see this change. So I was hoping others in the community may have had more luck in this vital area and might be able to offer up some suggested indigenous presenters. I feel the nearer they are to Victoria the more relevant the talk might be to the state the event is taking place in; however, it's by not limited in the sense that any good suggestion at the moment would be appreciated. If PM works better for you, then be my guest. Thanks in advance ;-) PS, on a side note I am also interested to find a knowledgeable presenter on ritual or witching herbs in Australia.
