  1. Yeah, I can see in those photos that the xanthodermus have a square appearance. I went off and checked what differences exist between it and campestris after I made the above post. The cap on the campestris go a reddish brown immediately when you scrape the top to remove a bit of dirt etc. I know the campestris because it is from a patch that we have picked from for many years.


  2. How do you test if they are xanthodermus? Do you rub them to see if they turn yellow?

     

    I found a patch of nice big campestris on the farm a couple of days ago. The campestris were good eating, and I took a culture as well. :)

  3. Has anyone got a viable culture of Hericium erinaceus (lions mane) in Australia ?

    Or if it's possible to get a print from something like that, maybe a US based member could help ?

    Hi, I'm new here, this is my first post.

    I actually started 5 agar cultures of Lion's Mane on the 21st at almost the same time or slightly before you posted looking for Lion's Mane. I am hoping to swap for some Agrocybe aegerita.
