Righto mate don't mean to offend you, I don't know what you do. If you have some info on the matter please share it so we can know why white isn't actually white cause this what's written on the box of all these products. -

White light contains all the colors, just saying, so the whites are more varied then the red + blue from my experience it ends being cheaper to buy very intence white leds rather then less powerfull targeted spectrum leds. All the white leds are measured in Kelvin usually. If you have the cash the red and blue may give you better growth but I reckon you need some whites in there too. -
are men the new "gatherers"?

I reckon there is a case for gender roles, simply for efficency, in saying that I don't think any are better or worse. Most animals have clear gender roles. and it is probably a product of the circle I've been moving in, of which it includes my family. It seems to me not many people at all (actually no person) who are friends around my age could really give a shit about gardening at all... *sigh -
Have been using nutrifeild bricks. As far as I can tell they don't have anything added other than whatever buffers it to oh 7? This brick expands prity damn fast compared to others I've tried too. http://www.nutrifield.com.au/pdfs/Coco%20Bricks%20&%20Mega%20Bricks.pdf

I know loads of people in aus with legal registered guns, they are a tool like a knife. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. I'f your out in the scrub and you meet a big ass pig you are gonna be happy you have one. Don't think a bullet is worth using on a thief, survalence would catch the guy and is so cheap these days.

green house is a silver lining I really want one but it wouldn't be permanent so idk if its even worth doing. trouble with trichs is they sell fast and thieves love that.

BedOSpines replied to Evil Genius's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I can tell you garden lime definently burns them lol, everything went white and disintagrated, do not recommend. -
Have sown some more seed lately, most of these where sown on the the 9th of this month and alot of them have already started to pop Nitrogen LJ x TPM Nitrogen Psycho0 x TPM Nitrogen Psycho0 x SharkxxBlue Nitrogen Psycho0 x LJ Nitrogen LJ x SharkxxBlue Huarazensis x TPM Peru Clyde x SharkxxBlue Peru Clyde x Psycho0 Juuls x ss02xss01 Juuls x LJ Scopulicola x Huarazensis Red grandiflorus x yellow grandiflorus variegated red grandiflorus x Abricola Huarazensis x Peru Clyde Huarazensis x Psycho0 Juuls x Psycho0 Epithelantha micromeris harrisia jusbertii Matucana Madisionorum albiflora x Matucana Madisionorum red flower ( I love this cactus) Loph Caespitosa loph Texana selenicereus pteranthus LC scop x scop Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus My future self is going to be very busy haha, I crushed up some coral rubble with the mortar and pestle and added to my zeolite germination media for several lophs/arios, I think they are growing much more rapidly and with a different kind of green, still early days tho but i think they have over taken the strait zeolite and are 2 weeks younger, not making alot of sense to me but i shall monitor, same seed stock too. *shrug

Lmao thunder I couldn't help but laugh, I'm really not supprised tho sadly. Now I think about it hunting and gathering are kinda the same thing, you can hunt vegetables right? -
Aztekium graft attempt has been seemingly succesful it's been about two weeks and is feeling very solid.

BedOSpines replied to AbleKay's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
"modern women are all about war games and gardens are too much like peace" Shit... Lol, it's not looking good for me, hopefully there's still some old fassion girls around here, Lmao I wonder about the gatherer thing though, I don't garden to provide I only do so because the plants themselves fascinate me, how they can survive and weird behaviour at times. The women I know do not understand, they will grow veggies to eat or for the prettiness, but the men I know who garden, have collections of plants they find interesting and seem to study them more. Like how males seem to dominate technical jobs. My gardening is a technical thing for me. In saying that, I only talk with a few females day to day. -

Trichs & Gypsum? Lime? Avoiding Stretch When Rooting Cuts?
BedOSpines replied to Derkshaman's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Not very recent imo lol, you should look into Dr William Albrecht's work. but currently I think the high N ferts, and pesticide industry are making more profit lol. Is it the Brunnings coir? mostly i find they have time release ferts added. I've been using coir with great success (not Brunnings) . after you read some of his work you tend to stop caring about ph so much, just make the soil properly and it will self regulate. and usually coir is super high in sodium as its mostly grown near the ocean and washed in ocean water over in India, pays to wash it, super pain tho lol. certainly coir is calcium deficient though as is every other bagged product i seem to come across x.x -
Good to see your still at it. This guy is doing well, starting to go really blue thanks olive.

Trichs & Gypsum? Lime? Avoiding Stretch When Rooting Cuts?
BedOSpines replied to Derkshaman's topic in Cacti & Succulents
You should throw away dolomite lime, unless your sure you need magniesium, which is doubtfull. Ive had good results with calcium carbonate, gypsum and soft rock phosphate. Are they growing indoors? -
That's a shame thunder, those Pelecyphora are really cool. You know why it went bad?
-
I should really try etsy, they do have some good stuff.
-
Me thinks it's only this seller.
-
I'm betting this seller is getting lots of complaints or negative feedback from silly Australians who don't understand the risk.
