hopefully this is the last post I make in this thread ;-p
looking to choose between the above place (40 acres) or the below (150) which also backs onto Yengo along the Mount Simpson Road which is private and locked (good security ,) also a major fire trail which can take a semi (good for railway carriages .-)
This place is pretty steep but has a bit more magic about it.
Also has what looks like a fairly serious underground telstra cable?

so it turns out the neighbour of that place above has made an offer which the seller has accepted... good for him and his 10 kids ,-)
have shortlisted 2 more places, this one's on Boree Track, about half a km from the NP

There are fresh Australian seed sellers on ebay in northern NSW, i'd ask there for some advice... you never know ,)
I've bought from here before > http://stores.ebay.com.au/mullumbimbybotanicals/
theres at least one other seller I've seen recently, looks like nothing available atm but add to a watch list or you could contact the shop above

I live near Central Station, pm me if you need or want a ride from there... I like to be early (and weekend traffic sucks) so around 9ish is preferable. can drop off too

wish I could remember the philosopher or author, but years ago I read parts of a book that was claiming that ego was only a few thousand years old - basically as old as modern religion and the male gods that represented them.
it suggested that prior to the male dominator religions (all of them) there were only female and agricutural/ plant gods and a distinct lack of what we would call 'ego'.
not sure how this is relevant except for the words "western" and "consciousness" ,-)
also the tree looks much better without it.

thanks for the reply,
yes, it's perhaps the most inspiring place within a thousand miles of where I've spent most of my life, shamed to say I had never heard of Yengo before a few months ago but it pretty much consumes both my wife and I full-time atm. This is a good thing.
we've been up looking at places every saturday for the past 6 weeks or so and still have a few more to tick off. missed out on that one I posted but not all bad. I really want to check out Howes Valley and the Putty rd side of things but that may be a tad isolated for everyone's needs ,)
spent last weekend up the Boree Track. no NP adjacency and was lacking in the magic department but it did have a building entitlement. We'd do the converted shed thing either way, but something legit is beneficial on paper at least...
look forward to catching up at the Cemetary and planning something thereafter, thanks again

posted this in Chill Space as the only result for 'Mt Yengo' on the forums was hidden in an old post here and it is a chill space that I'm looking for...
just wanted to post some pics of a property my wife and fat looked at yesterday... seeking a weekender of sorts <2hrs from sydney adjoining a national park on the cheap side (no building site permit/ RU2 etc)
also curious if there are any other members with knowledge or a presence in this region (bucketty laguna wollombi paynes crossing etc)
anyways, i loved this place, but did have a through road, but also crazy sandstone escarpments, dry sclerophyll forest, ironbark and grey gums (I think ,) a few cleared acres and western boundary adjoins yengo np

Assuming the capacity to walk is a prerequisite I'm guessing the cemetery walk would be family friendly? I'm keen either way as is my wife. Unsure about the kids though?
also I'm happy to have a minor shindig at my place (10 min walk from Central) afterwards if nothing better comes up. Have a fire keg (and turntables for those inclined...) kids wouldn't be home for that one ,-)

Have been thinking the same thing... Along the lines of a plant/ Spring seedling swap meet. Not sure if sept is too early for that idea and if it's better suited to October but happy to put it out there for September if others are interested :-)
was as also thinking September 24? I think a member or 2 is booked out for the following weekend already.

Just wanted to share that I recently learned that the rabbit intestines were most likely left by a Powerful Owl. Apparently fairly common (also explains how they got into a rabbit proof yard (which I hadn't previously mentioned ,-)
