I have found my pringlei to be very sensitive. Had great growth the first three years then stalled for the next two. I took it out of its pot and found the roots were not doing real well with only the odd healthy root so have repotted in a very mineral mix and will see how that goes this year.

I got my cutting from cactus country, where they make ice cream with it as a bit of a novelty. This plant is more user friendly than others, with smaller spines, produced large almost tennis ball sized fruit. Was told to keep pruning it also, to keep it low to get at the fruit easier. He was also saying it would be great for commercial growing.

I actually tried a few different cereus fruit from different plants on the weekend and was amazed at how good it was and the variation in taste. One was so good I had to buy a cutting to produce my own! Have also tried myrtillio fruit which was nice but they are only small

Don't plan on de grafting it. I guess as long as it is healthy it can stay there for decades

Go to Aisenen cactus nursery. They sell seeds and nice ariocarpus cv seeds as well. Make sure you bring back enough for everyone though, or at least me

Very cool, a tricho scion would have more chance of handling the growth without splitting
