Cacti theft general discussion- incidents,prevention
nrivers replied to nut's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I actually have my hole collection out the front of my house and was in the dark about the properties of my trichs, till a passer by told me more information about them. So in over 2 and a half years i have had a small bridgesii pinched and one barrel cacti stabbed with a stick. Recently though i have install sensor lights and have a cattle dog who sleeps under the front of the house and lets me know if any one walks past. I just hope people can appreciate the garden and leave it alone, which is very naive but time will tell. By having my cacti out the front i have had many more plants given to me by fellow collectors than stolen so there is positives and negatives i guess. -
Any help would be great, need some pereskiopsis to start my grafting journey.

My only tip is, for a better look place your rocks in, with desirable face to the front and wedge rocks behind to keep in place. Just throwing them in is quick, but you end up with large voids. It is a patience game

For the path i was thinking railway sleepers but the price is excessive. So i have just pulled down my old hardwood fence and it looks nice and rustic. So i will lay down some joists and run them on top. Would you believe those big barrels were at a friends house she was leasing, and wanted them gone, as for kids, and the landlord said she could get rid of them so i generously help them out
