I agree there derk. i have a few shorts that get the long thin pups on them but even their pups usually end up being the little egg shaped tbm's we come to love!

i personally believe there maybe one other there gets lumped witht he tpm/ totem pole,,, that gets fuller ribs longer spines (occasionally) and never shows monstrose. its distributed by another large dist that altmans got there tpm from originally called CCC. i believe it is sold as a short spined peru. i got one by itsel and one in a pot of tpm, its pretty distinct- i refer to it as totem pole, not to same its the same as the totempole/ tpm, that others refered to on this thread.

So its been about a year since I started networking with other cacti growers, and am glad i did. I have met some incredible folks, and learned a TON of stuff. One of the most interesting dynamics of the networking tho, is meeting the ozzies! ...so 5 things I have learned in no particular order from observation: #1 Like humans, every new seedling can have a name! From Alko to Zeus, and Yowie to Bruce, these things got identity! #2 It is ok to occasionally give seeds and plants away to fellow growers and even to noobies. The generosity of the Australian growing community as a whole is refreshing. #3 its ok for men to be emotional... as long as its about cactus! There was one point back at the beginning of the year, that I was press ganged into 4 or 5 different Australian FB tricho groups. Its cool though. I dont pick sides, I just like looking at the pictures! #4 The words, 'cheers', 'mate', and 'legend' have a lot of use potential. Plus theyre fun to say! Go ahead, say it out loud... see?? #5 EVERYONE can care about cactus, even the politicians. Hey, I'd vote for this guy... Thanks for being such legends, all of you! Cheers mate!

yeah but it starts with 'Z'!! -
the Huntington Botannical Gardens is a NO miss! I promise you, you'll be glad you went! If you can make it down to San Diego there are miles of cactus nurseries around the fallbrook area. have fun! edit: i believe hbg is larger then disneyland even, and the cactus garden is the whole east side of it...

shhhhhh... thats your chance to order it twice! lol. maybe its two different fruits, same cross?? -
Got the 4 branched one from a grower in the Imperial Valley. ive assumed it was the altman's 'tru pach' which i have found before at home stores, none of mine are this big tho, nor do they look identical, neither do these two look identical. since the experts were talking about the clone that i recvd this as, i thought it would be fitting to get an opinion. i tend to agree tho with you on the 4 branched one tho, probably being the same clone which altman distributes---- which may be tpqc apparently. learned something new on this thread! my tpqc from zelly is just a crest and has yet to throw reverts btw, i got the sausage from the same guy and it has saussaged twice, and i said yes to pc as well,,, which,,, they are not.

-
i got both of these from seperate sources as 'colossus'. they look a little bit like y'all's zeus... what says the community?anyone ever heard of 'colossus'? im not even sure if these two are the same clone themselves :/
