    Meet up: Perth

Big ups to everyone who came down! Nice turnout of around 15-20 people!! Was absolutely surprised at that many people showing up just because Perth events seem to have been small in the past and the crappy weather didn't help! If there is that much interest, perhaps we could do an early spring meet? Until next time...

What did you do in your sacred garden today?

In the past few weeks I've received a number of clones from a local member, including Anna, Ben, Bendigo, Bruce, Buddhist Monastery, Eileen, Mum & Dad, Sir Jeans, Bogan, Fields Pachanoi, MG Red Spine. Sir Jeans Mum & Dad Removing more dead jam trees from the plantation. I hope everyone can smell this at least once in their life! Caterpillars doing some funky ceremonial dance?! Put some more of my seed grown jams in the ground down the back. High density? Probably. Do I care? Not really. I have 12 in the ground here in metro Perth. Planning to guerilla garden a heap into local parks and median strips during winter I got this from @Psiphi a few years back as a tiny seedling, maybe 1-2cm Little 'El Lanzon' stump I got from a local member. By stump, I mean a seedling no bigger than 3-4cm that was decapitated! Throwing 2 pups so quite chuffed at its resilience Repotting some Viridis 'Luna' from takeaway to 100mm pot and into humidity box.

    Grafts -Photos & Updates

Bum graft of the Rosei #1 x Scop above.. both appear to have taken. Been told it might take longer for an upside down graft to take off? Did these 2 on 1/3/18 - now firm and pupping Potted up some grafting stock for next season (Middle and right trays). Mostly pach, some cuzco. Tersch x Tersch -> bridgesii, done tonight, 1/4/18. Playing around with this method as I seem to be failing with tricho <-> pere. I'll come back to it sometime. Hopefully I can get away with no humidity for these I have 9 lophs which have taken. Might be chump change compared to the hundreds some members have but I'm super happy Thanks to all who've posted their experiences and tips on this forum - true treasure trove! <3

  10. Oh right, I forgot - I have a million things on my mind at any time. I found out that someone did it only recently, with about 30 or so species. I'll have to find the link to published results.

    Datura flowering

A SAB member sent me 4 very young seedlings late last year. For the last few months they have been pumping out flowers (over 40) exactly like this as far as the double corolla and the messy thing in the middle? Until this morning, when one plant did this It looks like this is the first flower that might actually go to fruit. Is it an environmental reason for this stark difference or do some plants flower even if not sexually mature? Is that even possible? (sorry if this is a stupid question) Thanks! Edit: plants are all well watered, never seen any sign of wilting, sunburn, deficiencies and no change in ferts etc Edit 2: all 4 plants have been producing flowers like the first photo and 1 of them (obviously) produced the flower in the second photo.
  13. No, I have not. 99% of the hosts we have are Acacia acuminata broad phyllode. A handful of Allocasurina spp and a single A acuminata narrow phyllode. No experiments here - fully working plantation!

  21. Looking for photos of members brugs and daturas, as big as possible in the smallest pot. Got some brugs and daturas I need to pot up but unsure if I really need to buy 50cm pots for them. Itching to see what I can get away with for decent height on the brugs especially and still keep them mobile should I end up moving house in 6 months time Hit me with photos Thanks in advance!
