  1. I will see what I can find.....plant originated from malo......many moons ago? I took some cuttings from mine when a windy day and some insecticidal soap did some damage! I was worried I would lose it! Should have been more patient and it would have recovered with a few more battle scars. Live and Learn..

  2. I Love this time of year....cactus growing and pupping.....Flowers! Had to share this pic. I made some cuts to my T. pachanoi cv. puquio (labeled from original grower) earlier this year and it went crazy pupping. It has something like 18 right now and they keep coming.

I'm sure that I will have to thin them out before they start damaging one another and allow from MORE growth.

  3. I agree with Smith, keep the label that came with the plant. You can always point out what you think it is, but don't change the identity that it originally had. I know one of the best parts of collecting cacti for me is the hunt! I love searching for and finding cactus online, big box stores, and/or little nurseries. Sometimes I agree with the label and other times I don't....but I always keep the original label (even when posting and getting help in the ID forum) and just make a notation that it has characteristics of another clone. The variability of Trichocereus can be a pain/confusing, but it also is what makes them so darn beautiful and UNIQUE. I also love to see cuttings change/adapt to their new environment.

  4. Yeah, that thing is a monster! I am sure getting LOTS of water from that orchard next to it.....looking back at the pic, the fence is five feet from the ground, but that bed is raised about 12". So really that is a 4' fence from the soil level of the BEAST!!!

  5. If I am not mistaken, that is what he labeled them (correct me if I am mistaken). Never seen an Altman plant labeled as huanucoensis or colossus. I am newer here, but have been collecting for about 15 years on and off. Most of the plants that Altman offer are either pc pachanoi or on that spectrum. By no means, am I an expert.....always learning something new here about IDing!

  6. Ok, here are the pics.....I took pics from two different clones about 30 Yards from each other.Mother plant has 15 ribs....early cutting pics that was posted came from clone 1. Both plants were roughly in the ground in the same year, but plants where planted at different sizes. They are labeled Terscheckii..

  7. Hello All,

This is my first post..........after being on for a while trying to gain knowledge from all of you. I have been on other forums and have traded with some of you. First, I will THANK all of you for my gained knowledge from reading the many posts and getting me back into collecting  I acquired this unlabeled Trichocereus some time ago without a label and am curious what you guys think?
