    T. Pachanoi/Huanucoensis Growth

Is this another suspected huanucoensis from Altman? Looks very similar to plants from Altman post and I noticed that it was labeled pachanoi/huanucoensis? Either way, nice plants with good growth.....
  2. Thanks Katu......no worries about your French, I speak it also from time to time! I think taking the cuttings after the wind drift spray incident really caused it to pup out so much. Big root system and the need for new growth.....
  3. Smith, here is a link to photobucket....for mother plant picture. There is a few shots of it if you scroll pics. http://s607.photobucket.com/user/malo-/media/puquio.jpg.html?sort=3&o=8
  4. I will see what I can find.....plant originated from malo......many moons ago? I took some cuttings from mine when a windy day and some insecticidal soap did some damage! I was worried I would lose it! Should have been more patient and it would have recovered with a few more battle scars. Live and Learn..
  5. Oops.....meant to post this in Cacti & Succulents forum. Not sure how to relocate it?

    Trichocereus - Altman Nursery Strains

I agree with Smith, keep the label that came with the plant. You can always point out what you think it is, but don't change the identity that it originally had. I know one of the best parts of collecting cacti for me is the hunt! I love searching for and finding cactus online, big box stores, and/or little nurseries. Sometimes I agree with the label and other times I don't....but I always keep the original label (even when posting and getting help in the ID forum) and just make a notation that it has characteristics of another clone. The variability of Trichocereus can be a pain/confusing, but it also is what makes them so darn beautiful and UNIQUE. I also love to see cuttings change/adapt to their new environment.

    Trichocereus - Altman Nursery Strains

Out of curiosity, what did Altman label the plants? Was that ever stated?

    Trichocereus ?

Yeah, that thing is a monster! I am sure getting LOTS of water from that orchard next to it.....looking back at the pic, the fence is five feet from the ground, but that bed is raised about 12". So really that is a 4' fence from the soil level of the BEAST!!!

    Trichocereus ?

Thanks Evil Genius for clarifying for me.

    Trichocereus - Altman Nursery Strains

If I am not mistaken, that is what he labeled them (correct me if I am mistaken). Never seen an Altman plant labeled as huanucoensis or colossus. I am newer here, but have been collecting for about 15 years on and off. Most of the plants that Altman offer are either pc pachanoi or on that spectrum. By no means, am I an expert.....always learning something new here about IDing!

    Trichocereus ?

Ok, here are the pics.....I took pics from two different clones about 30 Yards from each other.Mother plant has 15 ribs....early cutting pics that was posted came from clone 1. Both plants were roughly in the ground in the same year, but plants where planted at different sizes. They are labeled Terscheckii.. Clone 1 ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Clone 2 For scale....fence is five feet tall! Better pic of flowers from clone 2...

    Trichocereus ?

Sorry to keep everyone in suspense, I wasn't able to make it over to get pics of the mother today but will first thing in the morning and post them ASAP. Evil Genius, flowers are white.....
