  1. Hi growers.

Can you help me? A couple of years back I purchased a bunch of seed with labels either Pach or Peru. I do not remember the seller or origin of the seed. More than one supplier involved (probably from ebay). What are your thoughts on the IDs?

So the first one the seed was sold to me as T. pachanoi obviously it isn't. I have had someone with a lot more experience tell me it could be cuzcoensis?

The second plant was labelled peru, which I agree with but would like to know your thoughts and I havnt seen any plants that look the same as yet. The aereols stick out with no V notches. I also have another that looks the same but the spines are not as red.

Now most of the seed grew to look like the third pic but half are labelled pach and half peru, and of course some labels got lost. Could it be that all of these that look like the third plant be peru? Or is it possible that some are pach with long spines?

    Thank you

  2. So have you made it yet? Like many people here I came for a holiday or some different scenery and 8 years later im still here. I found a love for mushrooms, cacti and the locals are such nice loving wholesome people.  I already had a love for the coast, the rainforest and the warm whether.

its like I have a big family here. Its a great place to live and everything grows here really well

  3. Noticed my stock (pereskiopsis) which I acquired last week has grown roots. So thought id graft some Lw to them, its my first time grafting so I hope it goes alright. I used the cling wrap with a peg tek and the plants are in a tub to stay moist, located outside in the shade. They will be wrapped up for a week as I go away for work. do you think I need to remove the cling wrap sooner?

Also rearranged seedlings and plants and realized I need a shelf for my seedlings. So I went and picked up some pallets and started pulling them apart. See how I go, I have not built anything from timber since I made a step ladder in high school.

  4. Hi everyone

Im new at growing cacti and I live in the wet tropics of north queensland. I have had some success with sprouting seeds both button and Trich's using the plastic bag method. Also I acquired some cuttings of T. pachanoi. I keep all plants under cover and inside a mini green house to protect from the rain.

It would be great to hear any tips or advice from more experienced growers. It is quiet dry at the moment and I would like to know how often I should water during the dry and if at all during the wet season as it gets very humid. Also when and how much I should feed them.

Any other advice would be great.

    Thank you
