Happyconcacti replied to sagiXsagi's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Have ya'll seen the gigantic form of myrtillocactus geometrizans? It gets abnormally thick branches, like 5" (12cm) to 8" (20cm). I've only seem them at 2 nurseries in Arizona. Will get a pic or two when I stop by next. -

Hi All. Brief summary: OZ --> USA clones that are 2.5cm - 5cm tips preferred, mid-cuts work as well pachanoi 'Yowie' 'Super Pach' pachanoi 'fields' bridgesii "psycho0" rosei #1 Longer Explanation: Any chance you want to help out the USA growers get some OZ clones going? I know that shipping is terribly expensive for large cuts so I'm requesting small ones. I've done a lot of grafting in the past, especially of small cuttings. The cuttings are usually 2.5cm - 5cm in length. Tip cuttings are the best for small grafts but mid-sections work well too as long as they're well-hydrated. See the pictures below for some examples. Once established years down the road, I'd love to get larger cuts of these to people like zelly, solar_tea, and AZS for seed production. Of course that'll take a good while. I'm most interested in clones (reiterate clones, not seed-grown). The list is in order of my interest: pachanoi 'Yowie' 'Super Pach' pachanoi 'fields' bridgesii "psycho0" rosei #1 HB02 HB03 -->Or any other Aussie clone that you think should be propagated. I'm particularly keen on pachanoi. I'm happy to pay for the cuttings and shipping costs. I also have seed crosses that I'm willing to trade. I have too many to list, so please inquire if you're interested. There are some crosses that are not available anymore. If you have most or all of the clones listed above and want to do this, please send me a PM and I'll get back to you as quickly as I can. Cheers, Hcc And here are pictures of small grafts I've done in the past:

Hi Everyone, I'd like to close this request. Thank you all for the various offers and replies. I'll be working out some details in the near future. @Sagi: Indeed, it is cheaper. I tend to graft small pups and tips to get them a head start. After a year or two, I de-graft them and get them on their own roots. Thanks Again, Hcc

Oreocereus celcianus and trolli and what not ID
Happyconcacti replied to sagiXsagi's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
In case it's difficult to see in the photos, the celsianus columns are much fatter than the pseudofossulatus. @Sagi, In my opinion you have the correct label on the O. celsianus. These are all slow growing and supposedly O. celsianus is one of the more cold-tolerant plants that can handle USDA zone 7b weather. Peace, Hcc -

Acacia maidenii troubles, bright red leaves
Happyconcacti replied to Happyconcacti's topic in Ethnobotany
Hi everyone, thank you for all the replies and information! I'll get pictures posted in the next day or so. Thanks, Hcc -
Hi All, I have 2 Acacia maidenii in the ground, they're about 1.5 meters tall now. Trouble is that the leaves are bright red. I thought it was a Phosphorous deficiency so I added a bit to the soil. It hasn't seemed to help much. Right next to the maidenii I have 2 Acacia acuminata v. narrow phyllode and they're doing great, bright green growth even with the cooler temps recently. Any suggestions? I don't know what to do. Thanks,

White spines pasacana? ID help
Happyconcacti replied to sagiXsagi's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
I'd guess T. poco or some variant of pascana. I don't think it's a chilensis. Chilensis spines are very tough, like you cant really move them around at all. They're fixed in place and don't bend. Plus they're sharp as hell, like abnormally sharp, they go right through leather gloves. -
this is the 3rd cacti robbery I've heard about this week. 2 in the US and this one. Really upsetting. It might be too soon to offer, but I'd happily send ya some US Trich seed if you want to get going again. No need to reply now, just keep this in mind for the future. Best Wishes, Hcc

Mystery Big Trichocereus, has the grower confused....
Happyconcacti posted a question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
Hi All, I went to cacti farm lately and the grower showed me a couple of these. He's fairly certain they're not terscheckii or pascana, but he's not 100% sure about that. Anyway, these are about 3 feet (90cm) tall and about 8" (20cm) across. Any thoughts as to what they are? EDIT: well crap, i forgot to take a photo of the whole plant. I'll take a couple more photos when I'm there next. -
oooooppps, re-read the OP. I'm not a new member. A new member should get these.

Awesome giveaway Olive! This is not my plant, but I speculate that it's a Trichocereus pasacana f. brevispinus hort.: http://www.llifle.com/Encyclopedia/CACTI/Family/Cactaceae/23843/Trichocereus_pasacana_f._brevispinus EDIT: I'm in the USA so I completely understand if that disqualifies me. Happy to pay shipping.

Buy and old one from a junk yard and take it apart. If you can get it back together, even better.
