You've got some work ahead of you with all those then, I'm loving the warm weather where I'm at too, finally!
I just had some of Zelly's validus x open germinate, will post pics when there is something worth seeing.

All your seedlings look fat and happy AZS.
At what point do you plan to separate and repot these guys?

Looking good. Wish I had someone locally interested in trich's, let alone a family member.
Sounds like a recipe for the collection to get out of hand fast, in a good way haha.

I've used DE to try and prevent/treat pests with mixed results at best. It was just difficult to work with in my situation. It has also always been a very fine powder when I've seen it for sale, so if you mean to use it in a soil mix I think it would reduce drainage and clog up the mix at any appreciable percentage of the volume.
-
Lol, I'm intrigued by your research and look forward to the results. Trich seedlings sure are resilient and I would bet yours will be fine. These are T. terschekii seedlings I germ'ed in a baggy and failed to check on for about a month. The fungi were loving it, but the seedlings are fat and happy today

Have these seeds produced monstrose plants for you Ethnoguy? I have some on the way from a different source, so just wondering.

Any updates on the seedlings Got? Would love to see how the ario's and jusbertii seedlings are doing.
I've been trying to find a domestic source for H. jusbertii seeds in the U.S. without much luck. I did find a cheap source for seeds being sold as Eriocactus jusbertii but I can't find any other information to confirm this is synonymous with H. jusbertii. Can anyone confirm this to be the same species? I know Eriocereus jusbertii has been used, so I'm thinking it's just a mistake.
I'm also curious about other species in the Harrisia genus being used as grafting stock. Has anyone had experience trying them (like H. bonplandii, guelichii, pomanensis, ec)?

Prier, those variegated lopho's may not be the prettiest among other variegates but they are stil beautiful in their own right. Kinda reminds me of koh-yo in astro's that change color with the seasons. Ariocarpus are said to be able to exhibit the same phenomenon.
Wonder if it will change any more in time...cool plants!

Looks great, can't wait to see the final product

Cool, thanks hostilis. I've got several species of Stenocereus and Myrtillocactus seedlings growing for use as grafting stock, I wonder how these hybrids would perform.
-
Very cool hybrid Senor Jefferson, didn't know these exist. Do you have any pictures of the other hybrids you mention?

mutant: I've had it about 4 months, first in partial shade now under fluoro's for the winter. I've thought about chopping it up since the day I got it, but haven't been able to bring myself to do it yet. I'll probably graft a column or two in the spring to see how it grows with a vigorous boost.

Hi all, been reading the forum for a while but thought it was time to contribute some graft pics:
Astrophytum myriostigma kohyo x hakuun
Ariocarpus retusus v. pectinatus
Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus v. elephantidens
Astrophytum asterias, dichotomous (I've read grafting can force this in Astrophytums, I assume that's what happened here)
Ariocarpus fissuratus x lloydii
Ariocarpus scaphirostrus pink variagate
