Gawd, don't give them any new ideas Rahli! -
Thanks guys I guessed having whey sitting at room temp would become too sour to use after extended time, so perhaps brine using whey should be kept refrigerated? Oil/ brine is fine? So mushfun - salt brine would do as well as if not better than oil? If sealed does the salt brine need to be changed at any time? Dionysus - The salt added to the brine/ whey solution also helps pull more whey from the cheese so it could make sense for Persian feta to be put straight into the oil rather than brine given it's texture. It must have salt mixed into curd prior to pressing as opposed to sitting in salt after press. I had been under the impression that Persian feta was once in brine and then marinated in oil afterward. I do agree though, the oil would be for air/ microbe exclusion and also for flavour Pretty sure I'll eat it before there's even a chance it will be bad. I was just wondering for when we live outta the camper, can I take it without a fridge and what the best brine solution would be for the longest lifespan. Big thanks!

Wow that ones pretty spesh. I bags top bunk! There was a shack built around broken buses last time I visited Emerald. I was envious of old 'silverado' because our rusty old shack full of holes would've been nowhere near as warm as in the bus shack.

If you look at that first pic nc decky posted - it's like that but along the entire front elevation of the house. It's fucking spectacular. He said he's just been taking cuttings and wacking em back in the same garden for years hence the length of the garden. He doesn't seem to mind giving the mother plant up and is interested in trade.

It sounds to me like its time to find something else to focus your energy on, I always find things i enjoy without the approval of others are the most fulfilling. You can't expect for something you've been enjoying for so long to continue to feel fresh and new forever (unless it itself is in constant growth.) You'll find your old interests will become facets of your new self that you will be able to enjoy later on, in moderation with a new perspective. I'd stay away from the prescriptions for depression.

I noticed my mimosa hostilis was being invaded with red spider mites today. It seems to happen each year on this property in July/August. Today I conquered the mite! I grabbed a saucepan and added 1 cup water 1 tspn cinnamon 1 tspn cloves 1/4 garlic clove Because the Internet said spider mites hate this. I added 4 basil leaves because Jamie Olivers kids stickers reckon flies hate basil? Then I added a sprig of citronella grass for obvious reasons. Brought it to boil Cooled it Sprayed it on the plant Now there isn't a sign of mites and the plant seems to look much happier I'll report back and do the post of shame if they return..

This sounds brilliant and will be so rewarding for you Bigred. While I don't know you all that well I'd love to get involved with the working bee while I have spare time. has gots a lot of fruit and veg seedlings I could bring along too sorry for my ignorance but isn't the great dividing range like fucking massive? Are you in qld? Just tell me how far away you are from say Brisbane -
Mmmmmmm. Mulberries I think it's important to note that the variety being referred to as Persian, 'shahtoot' Morus macroura differs from standard white mulberry - Morus alba. Which one do you guys grow? I wish we had an established shahtoot here, fond childhood memories in that tasty tree
