  1. Hi ladies and gents I have a small amount of khat seeds to giving away.

Instead of letting them become un viable im going to give some away, all you have to do is pay the postage costs.

IV got some narrow, and some open pollinated green/ red so there may be some interesting hybrid plants from the latter.

I will send out a small amount of both.

Im looking at giving away about 10 packs of 10 seeds.

Just to make sure of no disappointment I ask that you check your import regulations before  hand.

  4. Hi mate,

my peyote have been flowing prity much all summer, 1 seems to flower a little less then the other.

Iv tried cross pollinating when they were both in flower at the same time and I tried to self  pollinate  when just 1 was in flower, and also just left them on their own and not tried to hand pollinate them.

The thing is that they used to set seed with me not even doing  anything and then when I hand pollinated then with a small paint brush and crossed them they produced plenty of seeds.

Since they got a wet 1 winter and that caused them to become damaged, they didnt flower for the next year, but this year they have recovered nicely with no damage visible and happily flowerd away but they just didn't produce seed pods.

They started to flower around late April/may and its now September but haven't produced any pods.

  5.  Hello all here at Sab.

I have a couple of peyote 1 is roughly 6cm and the other is around 5cm.

They used to freely flower and produced seed then a few years back they got too much water and became damaged and looked bad.

While they were recovering they didn't flower often, now they are back to normal and have flowered parafucialy all summer long, happy days!

I tried hand pollination between them both, and also left them to self-pollination .None of these methods have worked, where as in the past they readily set seeds.

Can anyone please tell me if they will ever set seeds again? Any help would be muchly appreciated.

    Thanx

  6. Hi sabers,  if decided I want to try grow some shiitaki mushrooms.

I purchased some dowells on eBay and did a little research online and found out that in Japan they like to grow shiitake mushrooms in oak logs, so I thought if I'm Gona try this I'll buy a oak log.

I went to a saw mill and purchased an oak log cost me £8 and it's heavy as fu@k nearly pulled my back lifting it into my car!

Apparently if all goes well I can expect to be harvesting for up to 5 years :-)

Been a newby to this do any of you guys have any tips on growing these? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have not yet drilled holes to make the log colonised just trying to make sure I'm doing things correct.

  8. Don't think shooting it out is a way to go lol thought about some sort of shade cloth or something. Iv considered planting a conifer or something like that but I rent the property and the landlord is a dick and doesn't maintain the property well so don't plan on living here for too long!

  9. Ah damn got new neighbours and their was a conifer tree planted in front of it in their garden. This tree also blocked the street lighting coming into my garden too.

Now they have cut it down the light completely illuminates my green house so my plants will be on near 24h light.
