I am now calling this seed grown secret garden variegated werdermannianus x op .... "Narelle" ( after my Nan that pasted away a couple of weeks ago... she was a great and strong girl)
I managed to graft the top and bottom of this seedling and they both took.
I have had dichotomous and semi monstrose pups from this cross as well as the obvious variegation. Stay tuned as one may be coming your way soon!
Thanks S and Mr x
Narelle - Defo Tac op from the SG
The Narelle graft Master B sent me was monstrose and had some vari, both grew out MountainGoat.
I got a SG vari tac op on its own roots, slow grower

47 minutes ago, Wile E. Peyote said:Is there ABG tac OP going around as ABG werd OP? I have some of these plants and they look quite similar.
There are two plants at the Adelaide Botanic Garden (ABG) that are labeled Werdermannius.
Pics of those two plants -
Tacaquirensis looking plant
Taquimbalensis looking plant
Imo ones a Tacaquirensis and one may be a Taquimbalensis - imo neither are Werdermannius
The plant at the SG that the seed pods have come from is the Tacaquirensis looking plant, a cutting was given to Mr X several years ago from the ADL Botanic Garden which is why i call them ABG TAC SG OP (Adelaide Botanic Garden Tacaquirensis Secret Garden Open - ABG TAC SG OP)
This is the plant at the SG that all the SG Tac op seeds have come from in pod 1, 2 and 3.
ABG Werd or Tac op means the seeds are strait from the Adelaide Botanic Garden and not from The Secret Garden.
Not distributed by myself, anything from The Secret Garden should always have 'SG' in the title.
Ive a plant from Getafix i got in 2014 labeled as ABG werd.
Another guy from Adelaide sent some ABG tac seeds around last season or the season before, im not sure if he's on here.
Spachianus maybe the only other trichocereus sp flowering at the same time in the botanic gardens as the tacs/taqs or maybe and much more exiting......... the two tacs/taqs are cross pollinating each other........

Your Secret Garden op's are looking great Noname.
I never did impale grafts with mine, i kept them on their own roots cept for some of the val op's which i grafted to pachanoi.
Master B very kindly sent me a Narelle graft, (ABG Tac op) i nearly lost her but luckily managed to save her
The validus op are my fave cuz they are validus, these are from pod 1
This one is especially nice - pod 2
Other SG op's from pod 1
Goliath, Yowie and Bruce.
pod 2 and pod 3 - SG op
Cordobensis, Validus, Rio Mosna, Psycho0, MM Bridgesii, ABG Tacaquirensis, Scop, Goliath.

Ive added some nice Rita pups to the OP.
Thank you.

No probs Halcyon, your most welcome. Rita's sister plant is not as flash as the Rita plant in the pics, looks as if there were miltiple stands of the same bridgesii at one point, some have fallen and regrown. Ive multiple tips with flower buds so will be making lots of Rita x's this season.
The 5 Rita cuttings have sold, Thank you to those who bought a Rita tip, i may put some more up if theres enough interest.

This is Rita
A friend 'found' this plant recently, he's busy atm so i did the work researching and harvesting.
Rita was a lady who really liked cacti, she and her husband bought the house where the Rita plant is growing 80ish years ago.
Rita loved her cacti so much she planted a big garden of plants - a couple of bridgesii, pachycereus marginatus, some cleistocactus and aloes are all that remain.
Luckily the property has belonged to the same family for the last 80 years so finding out the history of this bridgesii was possible.
Like many of the gardens and cacti stands in SA this garden was planted by a person with german origins.
For this second sale, i have 4 pups to sell.
Numbered left to right - ALL SOLD
Each pup is 20cm +
pups are $20 ea
Postage is $15, medium parcel post bag - Australia only, if your OS and want some Rita then send me a message.
Total inc postage - $35 - Aus only.
Payment by PayPal as a Gift.
The process to buy a pup is as follows.......
Message Spooge and state the numbered cutting you'd like, I will respond with payment instructions.
Immediate payment is required.
Once you have paid, then you post 'SOLD' and the number pup you have bought on this thread.
Plants will be sent next Monday.
Thank you.
