  1. Hibernating for the winter maybe.......hadnt occurred to me that bats hibernate till i saw your post WB and did a bit of research this arvo

the bat is still there in the folds of the jacket.

turns out theres such a thing as bat boxes that can be made for bats to live in

was thinking of rigging something up for the bat and hanging it on the coat rack so i can get the jacket back, like a cardboard mailing tube or similar.

would have to very carefully scoop the bat up with the tube, maybe rough up the inside of the tube also so it has some grip with its claws

The bat could either be a Southern forest bat or a Little forrest bat from the looky i had at some Australian Museum sites online

  2. May want to be careful adding anything to a sub patch at this stage, in spring sure, though altering the patch at fruiting time may be detrimental. Ruffling up/disturbing the surface of a section of the patch may encourage some fruiting action with outdoor cold weather wood loving species.

ive found that a new patch needs to be at least 2 years old before a decent flush occurs, takes this long for the substrate to be fully colonised. After the second year of fruiting a patch usually needs to be fed again with more substrate to repeat decent flushes, again this will take another year to colonise, depending what quantity of substrate is added

gypsum is used in monotubs and outdoor grows of cubes to encourage prolific flushes, sometimes used in pan and stone producing cakes as well.

  4. this jacket has been hanging in the same position since the end of last winter, outside - near the back door

    IMG_0246.jpg

went to put it on this arvo before going out in the rain, and there was a bat asleep in the folds

at first i thought it was a moth cocoon or similar and was going to pull it off, when it clicked it was a bat i hung the jacket back up carefully and choose a different jacket to wear

it was still there this evening when i had a look

if its back there tomorrow the jacket will have to stay unworn until the bat moves on

Where on flea-bay will you be posting these, for the benefit of impatient folks like myself?

have put some seed packs up on ebay to cover the postage costs of the giveaway, if people buy some and there from here send me a message on ebay and i will add a nice fat pack of mixed 'pod 2' seeds to your order.

Will announce the giveaway soon on the seed and plant exchange

I would do some seriously depraved things for a dozen of those valida seeds...

Defo some comn your way man, for sure, will msg when the seeds r ready

Well colour me interested... May just have to make some time to take a drive down to your place :) Got some space to do mass propagation now too so that's handy.

Worth the drive and if you 'love the smell of mycelium in the morning' then this area is just the place

  9. Donated this morning, the transaction ate a bit more cash than I donated so it must be in usd, don't phase me though as this place is more than worth it, the donation bar showed the amount I donated, but not what was donated before or after, don't phase me either as I've full faith that all the coin donated will go to sever fees and not to booze n hookers

  10. If it's on a metal pole it's possible to kick the base of the pole so the pole and light fitting wobbles, wobble enough and the globe will blow

or if it's on a wooden pole and the globe has no cover on it hose the globe when it's been on for a while and it will shatter, this can be dangerous though as electricity and water don't mix
