EG´s Kickass Trichocereus Giveaway Thread! Pics please!
Berengar replied to Evil Genius's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Little beauties! My first batch got murdered by gnats days before I was going to graft, luckily EG sent plenty of seeds, I'm waiting for a new light bulb to start again.- 161 replies

Browningia hertlingiana show off and discussion
Berengar replied to sagiXsagi's topic in Cacti & Succulents
I just wanted to say, SuccSeed has some Azureocereus hertlingianus 'monstrosus' seeds (20 for $1) for anyone that's interested in monstrose cacti. Don't know anything about the germination rates, but I was not satisfied with their old A. hertlingianus batch about a year ago. -

Hey Psyentist, thank you very much for your very generous offer, but I'm from Europe, and with very high sipping costs, stricter customs checks now because of the terrorism threat and our winter in full swing, I don't think it would be worth it. I'll just try to score some quality seeds this time. But thank you very much anyway! -

Ha, and I just came to this thread to see if anyone has some seeds for sale! EG, please announce when you get them! This is one of my favorite looking plants, I wanted one for years now but cant find any for sale (except a few insanely priced ones on ebay with insane shipping rates), and the last batch of seeds I got had very poor germ rates, and the few that did sprout all failed to take to the root stock. -
Yeah the wood is great, good for various applications, great for carving, and unbelievably good for camp fires. Also it's one of the better honey bearing trees. I always thought it was native in my area, it's abundant but it gets along just fine with other trees, I would never assumed it's considered such a weed. Apparently it was naturalized after being brought from America some 400 years ago.

Do You Give Money To A Junkie Knowing It Will Feed Their Addiction?
Berengar replied to DiscoStu's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
I'm sure he would have stolen something eventually. Even tough addicts always say, one last hit then I'm through with this shit, it never quite works out like that. -
Do You Give Money To A Junkie Knowing It Will Feed Their Addiction?
Berengar replied to DiscoStu's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
With 'true' junkies, do you really have a choice? You know, with the knives and guns and such. Peaceful begging is not really their MO. Even if you give them some money, do you really think that will prevent them from robbing someone else? -
what would you recommend for lights with Cacti Seedlings
Berengar replied to Godiam's topic in Cacti & Succulents
One $5 45W 5000K-6500K CFL works perfectly for a m2 of young seedlings, and provides enough warmth for them. -
Oreocereus celsianus.

Got the seeds as well, thank you nitrogen so much! Others have already said everything that needs to be said way better than I ever could. -
seed grown Trichocereus ID
Berengar replied to sagiXsagi's question in Cactus & Succulent Identification
To me it looks similar to some of zelly's validus crosses, perhaps it was also sourced from SS (BK). This definitely doesn't look like terscheckii form, and also as you say it doesn't scream cuzco. My BBB bridgesii X 'validus' looks very similar to this. -
Yeah, most definitely Cylindropuntia, imbricata or something close.

Looks nice, probably a hybrid. Is this maybe from zelly's seed? -

Both of those finds are Amanita section Lepidella. Beautiful mushrooms.

Panaeolus subbalteatus almost certainly. Cow manure is a slightly unusual substrate for this species, they prefer horse manure, but I don't think it could be any other species.

Aeruginous daze.

ID-found growing in fern from Bunnings
Berengar replied to Idon'tstudydinosaurs's question in Fungus Identification
Spore print won't be of much help in terms of identification in this case, many Psilocybe have spores of similar shape and size. But someone with knowledge and experience might be able to determine the species based on cystidia and basidia, thus a tissue sample. -

Berengar replied to Idon'tstudydinosaurs's question in Fungus Identification
Very nice! I guess it could easily be a slightly odd looking P. subaeruginosa, I tried to find something that would fit better, but no luck. Still, you should preserve a piece of tissue if you one day find someone who would want to look at it under the scope. -
Anyone else vaping or using ecigs/ejuice? Lets talk :)

Just had a look and that thing looks crazy! The thing I hate about kanthal is all the gunk buildup and the daily cotton change, temp controlled titanium apparently doesn't burn the sugars in the juice and doesn't singe the cotton, so the coil remains clean and the cotton white for a long time. I saw a picture of a coil that was in constant use for 3 weeks without any cleaning (!!!), and it looked like it was assembled an hour ago. So yeah, I definitely can't wait to get a TC unit (istick 60 is still selling out weeks before it even gets to the warehouse).
