  1. since i'm not a practising muslim and i'm not a muslim woman who wears the hijab or niqab (both SACRED veils of modesty), i have directed this thread to some practising muslim women who cover themselves who can better explain it to you so that you can get a proper education as to why this is sexist, racist and intolerable. i understand it because i spent a year studying islam. how i know the veil fetish models are not muslim women or women of islam is i 'educated' myself so i could be more aware of what is actually happening in the world. some others ought to give it a go. of course, as they say, ignorant can learn - stupid can't.

i will say i'm glad to read what i have from apothecary and find it refreshing. torsten, of course, same old same old. assumptive, presumptive, arrogant and unable to apply his grand rules across the board.

when is a 'fetish' ok to share? a fetish is ok to share in a public forum if it totally bastardises a sacred conception of modesty but it isn't if ______ . i think this is a vocal minority asshole issue. i think the majority of people here really are good people who can understand respecting something that is so sacred to a large number of women, especially when those women are currently bearing the brunt of disrespect in most western cultures.

just something to think about. and yeah, i am done here but i do still read on occasion and this was something i couldn't NOT respond to because of the people i know in my life and because of my personal education in theology and islam in particular. i have some VERY good friends who are covering muslim women. hopefully some of them can educate you better than i can. if i were a practising muslim, i wouldn't have the mouth that i do.

i hope those of you who have done so in this thread continue to practice a reverence to that which is sacred to people's spirits even if you don't hold them sacred yourselves.

  2. naked women in veils are NOT 'women of islam' and you don't know shit about my religious affiliations or my 'issues' either. this is fucking sexist, racist, disgusting shit and, once again, proof positive of your inability to handle your own 'rules' in an egalitarian fashion.

  3. totally fucking unacceptable and one of the reasons i can't be fucked to continue in this community. if people who actually PARTICIPATE but just rub torsten the wrong way get chastised and SEXIST, RACIST, FUCKING DISGUSTING SHIT like this is allowed, this place is FUCKED.

    ~dannye in perth. bye now.

  4. do you have one, prophet? a quercifolia? my stramonium var. tatula also stays quite closed, it may open for a brief moment partially at night before it drops off but for the most part it doesn't open like kenny's at all. or at least i'm not catching it. i'd still say the fruit is the best indicator due to that. mine stay like this for the most part. so whilst you can see inside the flower it doesn't open anywhere near that of the metel species.

  5. yep i can see that now. it's kinda cool to see a couple extra photos too prophet thanks. i was only finding one. the leaves are much more pronounced as an 'oak leaf' type as well. odd but they don't look like oak leaves, either. common names....

  6. hey mescalito that does look very different. how is everyone identifying these datura?? the one photo i saw of 'chinese thornapple' seed pod was a very different seedpod than the ones these 'stramonium var. tatula' present with. the problem is that was one photograph meant to be taken as the source of information that these are not quercifolia. now we see mescalito's which is obviously again, very different. that is not an oakleaf shape at all. quercifolia is commonly called 'the oak leaf datura'. does anyone else have stramonium they can say 'yes this is an oak leaf shape' here? this has become confusing. the source i got the quercifolia seed from was very clear it was quercifolia. maybe it is quercifolia? is it stramonium? what is it?

i remember that story now that you bring it up gomaos, pan pharmaceuticals! mmm floor sweepings..... :drool2::lol:

  7. man i didn't attack you in any way, no need to over react to the situation. I forgot to get back to your email about the quercifolia that is all. I'm not claiming you are intentionally selling misidentified plants. We all make mistakes. I'm sorry you took it that way. I hope there are no hard feelings for the future man. I never try to make a public example of anyone. I just suggested it is probably Datura stramonium var. tatula. You obviously recieved the seeds as quercifolia so i'm not blaming you.

no worries. when it comes to plant id because it sucks when people think they are getting something it doesn't turn out to be, so in future if you ever spot anything of mine you're not sure of if you could get to me straight away that would rock. i sell a lot of things on ebay and the idea that i'm throwing around misidentified stuff bothers me greatly. cheers.

  8. those are some nice photos. Is it just me or does the oak leaf datura look like Datura stamonium var. tatula ?

yeah nice dude. thanks for getting back to me personally with your theory after i posted photographs to you to your private email. i think you may be right. in future i think it's best to discuss issues of misidentification with the grower who has been gracious enough to take the time to send you photos instead of posting 'golly could this be something different' inane commentary on public forums after receiving private emails about the very subject and deciding not to respond at all.

i'm happy to relabel anything misidentified and in future if anyone sees plants i have available in my garden or on ebay, etc., please feel free to contact me about it with evidence or your theory so i can label my plants appropriately and not disseminate incorrect information to other growers. that's the polite thing to do, but yeah, whatever. i took it on 'expert advice' that the stramonium was quercifolia, didn't research it myself at all due to the source. i have never grown stramonium in my garden and had nothing to compare it to.

nice pictures, kenny. ;) thanks for bringing the stramonium to my attention. i appreciate it.

    gone again.

  9. ROFLMAO

who does? i mean he the one accually trying to help you and make you happy....hmmm ok he must have mental issues?

honestly i question the mentality/sanity of a person who seaming dedicates themselves to stiring up shit LOL not the one who trys to clean it up.

    oh deary me LOL

no thanks sweetie, not buying anymore LOL

with all due respect to torsten, quite a 'moderating team' you've got here. grown up out.

  10. Posted because I didn't think evolution would be worried about it, retracted because she complained. I knew she was just stirring the pot, if I thought she was seriously offended it would have been deleted.

Don't worry mate, pretty much everyone ignores your bullshit, so it's just you and me really.

you've got some serious mental issues, guy.

  11. well, let it stand his post should be put back up because it didn't offend me and it was amusing, nor was it a personal attack. it's bad enough the bloke has to wait however long to have his thoughts come out of moderation queue but to delete them after posting them based on your misunderstanding of someone's personal offense is ....

  12. The condition was that you do not change your profile [which has not been fulfilled]. And the reward is that you are not in a special members group. This will not change you posting privis.

which, by way of administrative admission on an open forum, actually means that you are still in a special members group, albeit one that isn't searchable via the 'members' link.

    the standover stuff is bizarre.

t, you do have a brusque manner about you that seems to come across online as condescending and as though you're casting your pearls to swine. not just in these recent weeks or threads. i guess that's part of your personality and it's fortunate that a lot of people understand that's just part of who you are and don't knock you for it. or maybe they don't knock you for it because they want something from you. or maybe they're afraid if you don't like them nobody else in the ethno community will accept them. people are weird but. (not excluding myself.)

  13. if we were all in a room together, i wonder how many of us would be able to draw our eyeballs back out of our skulls.

  14. I haven't had enough (or any for that matter) wine to understand exactly what you mean there evolutionNth, but I like your move of logging on while drunk. It seems to allow one some sort of leeway in terms of posting nonsense

Maybe there has to be a new policy on drunk members; or perhaps you are taking a lead from my club analogy and you're close to doing a technicolour yawn on the new carpet that's been installed in this place. I hope you can keep your drink down.

i haven't had wine in .....six months? i go through phases. that aside you wouldn't be privy to that lest i relinquished the information. there's no plausible way i'll vomit as i'm nowhere near that drunk. at my age we hope we're aware of our 'limits'. ;)

p.s. have you smelled your lips lately?

  15. now we done did it a way that was workin' long before you youngin's came along gyratin' them pelvises and acting like you rules the world! if it ain't broke, i say don't fix it! we got along just fine before all this rocking and rolling! back when i was a boy the foxtrot was enough to catch a lady's eye. if it was enough for them then, it's enough for these young girls today!

  16. To me it is anathema.

we don't really need to hear about your enemas but basically i concur. if we're not concerned with alphas and pack mentality there is no reason to clean up our shit so nobody else gets wind of what we really ate.
