I would certainly agree with letting her know how you fell but wouldn't push it much further. You obviously hope to have some future relationship with her. Could you have as good a relationship if there was no trust? So don't ruin your chance to trust her by causing her to act untrustworthy to her current boyfriend.

So as duality is only a delusion ( albeit a remarkably persistent one ) the sound of one hand clapping is none as everything has all ways been one from the start.

So Americans have a excuse for having voted in Bush. Unfortunately in Australia we have no such excuses for voting Howard in time and again.

Not really sure they are all that endangered as I see a lungfish almost every time I go for a kayak in the Brisbane river near Fernvale. Unless of course they are Saratoga, but I assume they are lungfish as they are very placid.

a pdf file which explains it. http://www.toool.nl/bumping.pdf more then slightly worrying. Will have to start feeding my puppy lots of raw meat in the hope it will grow up big and nasty because obviously that will be the only thing stopping my place being robbed if this becomes widely known.

what is the official explanation for the answer regards the one about the tree in the forrest. My answer stems from the fact that sound is what you get when sound waves reach some sort of hearing device. So if there is no one there to hear it you get sound waves but no sound. the one hand clapping one. I can clap one hand. Bring the fingers back onto the palm of you hand. Although I will be sorely tempted to slap someone in the forehear from now one if I am ever asked that one in person.

Done my good deed for the day. When I bring up that page, there is only some blurry writting but it still works if you click on the blur.

The energy contribution is diverse. Imagine how much energy is used in running hospitals. Sure we would still need them but we would need less beds per population. The energy costs associated with production of cars has to be much larger then producing a bike. Not to mention how quickly cars seem to deteriorate where as bikes last longer I haven't read the article but it seems that it is implied that high energy use is a bad thing. Are we going to cut down the forrest which use up huge amounts of energy? off course not. So if I only rode I would only use extra food. Say I live to be a hundred compared with two people who live to 50 The both have to get educated and buy houses and get all the comsumer goods that are required today. So getting to age 35 or so they have used up twice as much as me. Sure they only go on for another 15 years or so whereas I go on for 65. But in that 65 I am mainly using completely renewable sources of energy ( food )
-
I routinely ride 100 km in under 4 hours ( not including the lunch break )
-
All the extra energy that a cyclist consumes comes from completely renewable sources. ( food ) So no contradiction cycling is good for the planet.

This might be true until you get to know yourself. But once you are comfortable with yourself, other people present one with huge opportunities to improve our state of being. I would guess that people who are feeling great about anything would exude a ' come and get me vibe' As far as the general topic of solitude. I am very comfortable being alone. I would go so far as to say it is something I need. I am moderately comfortable in a crowd. But after x number of hours. I reach a point where all of a sudden I no longer want to be in the company of others. Ist is like I have used up all the neurotransmitter which makes me sociable. My chief gripe with any group larger then two is that is becomes sort of impossible to have a direct and honest conversation.

God at the Speed of Light -
ramon replied to Northern Gnome's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Got no further the the first point, about light being pervasive at the big bang before I started to lose interest. From my understanding, the was no light for a while after the big bang because the universe was too dense for light to propagate through it. Captamazing I think dark matter is so called because we cannot find it at this stage. I have not heard any suggestions that dark matter cannot be illuminated when we finally work out where it is. -
See you there. Able to hang around till about 2pm then unfortunately its " hi ho hi ho its off to work I go"

You would think that it would be a no brainer, it is better to be happy. I have always assumed this is right and have worked towards accomplishing this ( mainly within a Buddhist framework ) However I find that I am more energetic, creative , philosophical and probably all round a better person when I am not happy. My experience of the world is obviously not as enjoyable but if you subtract my experience it seems that it is better for me to be unhappy. I grow at a faster rate when I am unhappy then if I am happy. This seems perverse to me and wonder what other people think about this subject.

or use a vaporizer. -
Maybe I should have chosen " being content " instead of happiness. I do believe that it is possible to be content all the time ( I am not suggesting I am) however when expressed this way it does not seem as perverse as contentment seems to suggest no drive to change the status quo

I am all for freedom of speech. I have much more respect for someone who voices their discontent with any apsect of myself or expressed opinions then with someone who holds their tounge, but then disagrees when I am not there. However some parts of the quote seem to advocate voicing opinions that are not actually held and I disagree with this.

My understanding of Eternity is not so much a abundance of time. But as a measure of no time. In that Eternal existance is not something that is in my future as a reward for a good life. But eternity is when you are no longer aware of the boundary that sepparate yourself from the rest of the universe. This happens only for the smallest instant, but a small instant in which there is no time is eternity to me.

Definately looks like someone has planted a few Trichocereus. Should introduce yourself to the property owner as looks like you share some interests

It is only through discussion that you can hope to alter someone's views. The thing that stands out the most about this forum to me , is the way that contentious issues can be raised and they are discussed largely without it resorting to personal attacks. As to the issue. There is no Self, therefore there is nothing that is not Self. Understanding this would go great lenghts to avoiding some off the lazy thinking that has been expressed. Also it is my experience, that more often then not the things that really bug us about others is telling us alot about ourselfs.

I have heard a number of times over the last year or so that the increase in inflamitory diseases is linked to the number of parasites we have these days. The twist being that it is the lack of parasites which is casuing our inume systems to over react. New scientist podcasts have had something on it and also the naked scientist podcast specifically the 13th of November 2005 has something on it. http://www.thenakedscientists.com/html/shows/Archive.htm
