2. This was just for a bit of fun. I really like the original game music. It is from a master system game called Battle Outrun, which is a spinoff of the Sega arcade game Outrun. I possibly could have done something better with this if I had more time, but just wanted to get something down. I thought the Europop sound went quite well with the uplifting tone of the music.

Unfortunately, my phone is a hand-me-down from when my girlfriend upgraded from crapple to an htc1.

Battle Outrun

Almost two years later, I finally got around to doing this. I wish I had more time to mix it up a bit, but wanted to get it done in a couple of hours and get back to more important things.
5. Bruce lee used weight training extensively to build his physique and increase his strength and agility. Knowing the exercises you should be doing, in what rep range, how often, and in what order, are essential if you have a particular goal in mind and want to achieve that. The whole point of using weights is to have ultimate control over how you shape your musculature, and you can't do that with manual labour or calisthenics. The body responds to the stresses you place on it, and you can manipulate those responses in a very controlled manner if you are using free weights. There is no machine that will pump your muscles up. Your body is just responding in the same way as it does if you're lifting bluestone in your landscaping work (for example). But you don't have control over the weight of the bluestone and can't choose how many reps you do, or which muscles you are going to work. It's all about taking those natural principles and exploiting them to achieve the effect you desire. If you prefer Bruce Lee to Arnold Schwarznegger, then it is not the 'gym look' you don't like, it is the testosterone enhanced, medium rep, to-failure look that you don't like.
6. The only thing I don't like about the 'fitness' industry is the lies and hypocrisy when it comes to the topic of drugs. There are so many people selling products, be it equipment, supplements, or programmes, without mentioning that the single most important product used by their models to build their physique are illegal drugs. This is the same in sport. I hesitate to claim that almost every elite athlete is using banned substances, but it's certainly a lot more prevalent than people would like to think. However, that is the publics fault because it is something no one can admit to without being kicked out and having their medals taken away. But it gives viewers unrealistic expectations of what they can achieve without drugs. Personally, I think drugs are great for sport. In every way, top athletes are pushing the limits of what the body can do, and the only reason so many drugs are banned is the same reason that recreational drugs are illegal...bigotry. There is no fundamental reason why drugs should be any different to any of the other things that athletes do to get an edge, like shaving hair off their body, lifting weights, wearing certain clothes, or using a hyperbaric chamber. And then there's movie and TV stars. Less of a reason to lie than athletes, but I guess they still might be jeopordising their career by publicly admitting to doing the same thing everyone does. When Hugh Jackman is asked how he got huge for a role in six weeks, and he says he ate chicken, I'd much rather he just be honest. Again, it gives people unrealistic expectations about what they can achieve. People know that professional bodybuilders use anabolic steroids, but they don't realise that even a moderately muscular physique, obtained in a short period of time with minimal fat gain, requires similar 'enhancement'. I personally don't mind some muscular physiques. I think Arnie looked great in his prime. Todays bodybuilders who use lots of human growth hormone, like Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler, look silly to me. Everyone's taste is different. Then there is overuse of synthol or similar injectables. A lot of bodybuilders use it to straighten out assymetries, and that makes perfect sense, but then there are people who use it as a substitute for getting in the gym and doing the work. They think they are fooling people. I don't have a problem with someone thinking it looks good and being honest about it, but a lot of people seriously think people are fooled into thinking there's no synthol in their muscles, when it's sooooooo damn clear. There is a terrible, terrible show called "The Doctors", which some people may be be familiar with. They had a guy on who had, I think, the Guiness world record for biggest arms. They were pumped up with something like synthol to look like balloons, and he got on the show and said, "They test me and found no steroids". And then the hosts proceed to explain how amazing it is what the body can do with exercise. This seems totally irresponsible to me, and they are either willfully misleading their audience, or they're completely ignorant about the topic they're doing a show about. They are supposedly doctors for f*%&'s sake. ETA: found the segment still makes me angry

Breaking bad last season

Awesome end IMO Although I think there have been ups and downs with breaking bad, it never jumped the shark, and that's pretty rare. If you have a strong opening season and a strong finale, I think that's all you can ask for, and makes it a series to remember. Breaking bad had both those...and then some.

9. To be fair, there's a big difference between the state telling you how you need to live your life to be a free member of society, and a private forum telling you what information you need to provide in order to use the service.
10. People also need to be aware that there can be some confusion if they do not specify which zone scale they are using. If you state that you're in Australia, then the only really ambiguous number would probably be 7. But if you don't provide a location at all, then something like "zone 4", could be a USDA number and be really cold in North America, or it could be an Australian zone and be quite hot in, say, Western Australia. Climate is not really enough IMO. It's important, when trying to ascertain whether someone has broken the rules, to know what country (at least) they are in. Someone may have their climate accurately stated, but if they, for example, post pictures of a plant that's illegal in Australia asking for advice on how to care for it, I delete the thread without warning if there is no clear indication that they are in a country where the plant is legal.
11. If I eat the way I naturally fell like it, I think I would keep on putting on fat forever. The first time I started putting on weight, I didn't realise it was going to happen, but realised I needed to do something to keep it in check when I got to about 105kg. So I started eating better and getting a bit of exercise and got back down to 70kg. Now I don't let myself get above 90kg, so it's generally a few months of eating healthy and getting myself down to 70kg, followed by a year or more of slowly putting on weight until I get up to eighty-something. I like working out, but half the time can't be bothered getting myself to the gym. I'd work out all the time if I have weights at home, but don't have the space for them. So I have a gym membership and try to make it at least three times a week, but often don't make it there. I've tried full body workouts, but didn't find I could recover in time to go as often as I'd like, so now I do a back day (deadlifts, pull-ups, barbell rows, etc.), a leg day (squats, romanian deadlifts, etc.), and a chest/tri day (presses, flys, skullcrushers, etc.).

I use cactus as a plural

What is your problem with "peoples"? In what context? In fact, your use of the word "people" as a plural is in fact the result of the misappropriation of the word to mean "persons", which it used not to and the two are actually derived from different Latin words, populum and persona, respectively. The word "people" was originally singular and referred to a populus. So, for example, Chinese persons as a group are "a people", and likewise Japanese persons are also "a people". Collectively, along with some other groups, we may refer to them as "the peoples of Asia".

I use cactus as a plural

Are you sure you are using it as a plural and not as a mass noun? I have heard people do the latter (and often do it myself), but not the former. You didn't give an example of your own usage, so it's hard to tell. Example of using it as a plural: "I've got about 100 cactus in my yard" Example of using it as a mass noun: "I've got a lot of cactus in my yard" The problem you note with your examples is not solved by using cactus as a plural, as the pronoun "that/those" still identifies whether you think you're referring to a single plant or multiple plants. However, using cactus as a mass noun solves the problem, because a mass noun can be used with a singular pronoun when talking about any quantity. e.g. your example of saying "look at that cactus" would be quite valid for multiple plants if you are using "cactus" as a mass noun, but would be invalid if you are using it as a plural because it should then become "look at those cactus". Thus, using it as a plural does not allow for ambiguity that you are hoping for, but using it as a mass noun does.

HTPCs and Home Media Setups - What ya got?

I'm using XBMCbuntu on both my HTPCs. All my computers are wired (via a network switch), and all media files are stored on a dedicated server running ubuntu server edition, in an antec 1200 case, which I got because of the 12 drive bays. The HTPC in the loungeroom is set up nicely. It's got a gt220 in it, which supports vdpau and plays full HD videos quite nicely. The case I chose fits perfectly in our TV cabinet with the door closed, so you can't even tell there's a PC there. I've got a cheap ebay microsoft knockoff remote which works fine, and use XBMCremote on the ipad for WOL or browsing shows while we're watching something. I'm running the advanced launcher plugin for games, and I have a usb hub with a dual arcade stick, 2 ps2 controllers, and 2 n64 controllers plugged in, with MAME, pcsx2, and project64 installed for each, respectively. I had NES lookalike usb controllers from ebay for playing 8 bit games, but they didn't last that long and I found I was happy just using the N64 controllers when the NES ones died. The one in the bedroom has older parts in it, but works well enough for its purposes. ETA: Tried to take photos, but they were coming out pretty shitty...but you get the idea. Even with vertical games like shmups, they end up having a decent size and looking pretty good on the 55" TV.

What Video Games Do You Play?

You're all nuts. Dirt 2, burnout, nfs can all be fun, but it's kind of limited and the main benefit of them is that you don't need a lot of skill to play at some level, particularly good if you're having a piss up or something, but at the end of the day for me, if I'm sober and actually want to test/improve my skills, it's gotta be gtr2, rfactor, iracing...

What Video Games Do You Play?

Oh, and I love cave shmups. I have a dual arcade stick plugged into my HTPC running MAME through advanced launcher on XBMCbuntu. Dodonpachi, espgaluda, ketsui, dangun feveron, mushihimesama... all really cool games. Didn't occur to me to mention these before because threads like this are usually about the latest PC/console games, but heck, I love playing candycrush saga while I'm taking a dump.

What Video Games Do You Play?

Playing war thunder a bit at the moment. I bought a joystick for it, but the only problem is that in arcade mode you get the shit shot out of you by mouse players within seconds, and FRB mode (which isn't too friendly for the mouse players) isn't very popular, so it's often ten minutes of waiting followed by it timing out. Still worth it though, and hopefully when it's released that will change. Mostly waiting for the next round of games though. The current ones aren't graphically much better than 5 year old games, but with the advent of the ps4, there should be enough incentive for game designers to work a bit harder. Saving up money right now so the in about a year I can put together a state of the art gaming PC and get a rift, and hopefully by then there will be a new slew of great looking, great playing games.

how to place a hotlink as signature

If your computer came with an OS but no disks, there should be a partition on the HD that has the OS installer. I can't remember for sure, but I'm guessing you have to boot into that partition via a BIOS option to run the installer.

My Music Just copy and paste it into your signature edit box. It will look like this: My Music If you want it to say something else, just change "My Music" to whatever you want.
