  1. primary school was okay, seemed necessary to function properly. most of high school was more like "day prison for adolescents under the guise of teaching you useful things".

"how to learn things you are interested in yourself using the internet and libraries" should have been the only mandatory course imo

  2. Oh, that's a clearer description. I wasn't really sure what you meant without the context.

I haven't experienced that exactly, but I think I understand what you mean. Someone who isn't me has experienced similar things on two occasions; once on psilocybin mushrooms, and once on a (smoked) DMT trip. I think the two experiences could easily come together to create the state you're talking about.

On the mushrooms occasion, SWIM was indeed "in two realities simultaneously" as you have described... however, there was resistance to one of them, due to fear of the unknown, so SWIM wasn't able to shut up and enjoy the experience. Trouble functioning was there for sure, he couldn't recognize a sandwich and pretty much had to be carried inside.

On the DMT occasion, SWIM experienced bliss, having learned his lesson and let go completely. However, the trip wasn't long enough to experiment with trying to experience the other reality at all in that state.

I imagine what you're describing is a combination of the above two experiences? Being both at the tipping point between worlds, and in blissful acceptance, that is.

  3. With rue you don't want to be messing around with single seeds in single pots as the result will likely be failure.

What one ought to do is sow many seeds on the surface by a light sprinkle.

Many seedlings will sprout and many will die but the strongest plants that have competed with the others will be ones that you will have success with.

This ought to be a trade secret. B)

  4. Just in case it's necessary for this to be said:

I recommend your friend be getting conventional western treatment for cancer as well, if she isn't already. Too many people have died because they put too much faith in slow-working herbal remedies, and thought they didn't need chemotherapy to survive...

Herbal medicine will help the healing process in the long run for sure, but with an immediate problem like cancer, it isn't an aggressive enough response.

  5. I've come to be able to slip in and out of no-mind effortlessly, but it's a little elusive also. Once I have that clarity, it stays for a little while, then seems to slowly slip away as my attention span falters and I start getting caught up in thoughts again. I'm not sure if this is exactly what the excerpt you've posted is referring to, but that's what it sounds like to me.

While I'm convinced there's a link between psychedelics and enlightenment, I don't think it's possible to attain enlightenment purely through psychedelics (or at least, it would be a very confusing path to walk). I think the experience of ego-death under the influence of psychedelics is fantastic practice and preparation for when that moment comes in meditation, but that's pretty much it.

I think it's important to remember that you're in an artificially altered state of consciousness, and that you haven't really gone to that state voluntarily. Ego death while tripping is kind of like being grabbed off the street, pulled in to the place that contains what you're looking for, having your face pointed at the thing you've been missing, and then hurriedly kicking you out on the street again (although you can obviously resist more or less and make the experience more or less pleasant), leaving you confused and not really sure what just happened.

My point is that psychedelic ego-death shows you what direction to move in and how to surrender, but the real experience requires you to find a path of your own accord.

  6. Yeah Cordyceps may prove to be a bit harder to cultivate, especially to cultivate them with a high enough level of active medicinal components. I love a challenge though. Saying that I think that they will be one of the last ones I will try. Just need a mulberry tree to get grow silkworms to grow cordyceps..........

let me know how that goes haha. i'm interested in growing cordyceps also, eventually.

  7. None of the buttons are labelled for me?

I don't know what these buttons do and enter doesn't reply for me. I clicked some buttons at random and a loading icon appeared, suggesting that something was happening, and I got this settings box to pop up, but none of the settings are labelled either

  8. I really like what you've said about the battle being part of our growth. I will try to keep that in mind. Sometimes it's hard to keep going with the effort, to keep seeing the point of the struggle... but what you've said is a really refreshing perspective.

On the topic of legality of "drugs", one enlightened master (Osho) I loved once said that instead of outlawing them and persecuting the people who take them, the governments should be working to provide new, cleaner drugs with less side effects, because people need some release from all the suffering in their lives. He suggested that the option should be given to everyone to have a safe trip or drug experience under supervision at hospitals. Very interesting ideas. Hard to justify, but very sensible if you understand the value of such an experience.

  9. I just watched the BRF/PF tek videos on that website, and it sounds like shiitake would indeed be a good place to start. I would like to try this technique before I start buying expensive equipment, mainly because I'm short for cash at the moment.

Dowels sound like a neat idea but I think I should try and get the basic technique down before I start looking at other methods.

Can anyone suggest a place for me to get spore prints from?

  10. My friend says he'd like "Bruce" and "Jess". I'll PM you his email address so you can get in touch with him!

And I might grab the Psycho0 while I'm at it.

[edit] actually, we decided it's easiest if I just order all three and then I'll do the trade with him. so i'll just organize it with you myself

  11. I believe a return to pituri would be a good idea, and destroying the pituri trade, destroyed the aboriginals no doubt.

that's what colonists do, by destroying the sacrament, one can conquer the country easier.

or let's look what happened to coca producing countries, only the drug dealers get rich, and the farmers stay poor. if those countries could sell there harmless products world wide, the poverty problem in south America could maybe get fixed.

but most people with power and money have dark hearts, and this is why there are so many poor people on this planet.

    well said... sad but true.
