There has been a silent bid of $100 + trades
This is way heaps more than expected and if it is cool with those who have bid I will pull the auction up here because I think it's too much.
For those who have bid I have 'some' more but am not keen to send any to new homes until I see a flower forming and can confirm it is what it is. Who knows when that will be. I have tagged other reaching maturity plants with bidders names.

Hi, I spotted these growing in a clump on an old three stump in the garden. I'm wondering if they are edible?
Thanks in advance for any help. I tried describing them in a google search but I got 50 million images of nothing like what I have in my hand :-(

Wow! I knew I'd get a bit for it on eBay but this will help out paying for some more channel to grow out more like this.
Auction will end 8pm tomorrow night.
Plant will be sent after recieving payment Monday 25th 09:15am by method requested and paid for by buyer.

Hi all! I'd like to organise another camping weekend on 'The Island' for anyone interested plus those who couldn't make it last time as well as those who wanted to come again.
Everyone who made it last time said they had a great weekend experience and would definitly come again. I would like it if more of you could come have a weekend chillout experience away from cramped city life and enjoy some peace, seclusion, nature, friends and your favourite chillout treats.

Anyone up for it the weekend after the Autumn Equinox (March 20th) or the weekend after the Winter Solstice (June 20th)?
How about the Queens birthday long weekend in June? 7th(Friday night)-8th-9th-10th June?

I'm taking my own sunset canoe trip tomorrow evening. They way you guys raved about it how can I not?
I reckon a do on the island around the changing of the seasons. 4 meets a year. My body could handle that.

It's been a while but here is how the little setup looks now.
I got annoyed digging them out of the perlite so I potted everything up. A lot of the plants have changed since the jan 1st post.
Best solitary loph growth was 14mm from 1st Jan to 1st Feb, Others weren't far behind. Not bad considering 1st of Jan was when most were grafted. I'm keen to see how they go over the next two months.
The bigger blossfeldia liliputana flowers like crazy and seems to grow before my eyes. Very happy with it and will do more of them.
I put the Astrophytum caput medusa in the system on Australia day after I forgot to move it in from the sun. It was badly burnt and half of it withered and dropped off. Since Australia day though it has come back strong with a new branch? growing out and the two remaining branches coming back like nothing happened. The new branch has grown 17mm in the time since I first saw it on the 3rd of this month. Very happy with this one.
The big medusa heads got smashed by the sun too and I though I lost them. Everything had yellowed or turned red and withered to nothing. As you can see in the pic's they are going strong again like nothing happened. All the little medusa heads got burnt just the same but are also coming back strong just a little slower. I don't know if you will see it clearly in the pictures. Happy with these too.
I've started propagating pereskiopsis some members were kind enough to send me. My aim is to fill a couple of big hydro grow beds I've built for the pereskiopsis before I start grafting with it. Still a month or two yet. Should also mean I will have a fair bit to share around. I'm amazed at how quick this stuff grows.
Thats enough info for now... I'm still recovering from the weekend

Hi Guys, Below are some photos of the plants I'm sending Jox and Stillman.
I put them in the system on the 1/01/13 and they have grown extremely fast. They were little tiny babies when I put them in.
I didn't post them earlier as I began to notice strange growth from some similar plants I put in at the same time and was hoping the above plants would start doing weird stuff too.
See if you can spot whats going on with the plants below. Hint = 1 plant per pot
Have I got some real strange shit going on here or is whats going on with the plants quite common?

Thanks to all the great people who made the drive up and shared the love. You are a great bunch of people and are all welcome back. I felt a great sense of community, caring and friendship while with you all. Funny as hell stories and good vibes all around.

Just got back from a look see...

I'm 6'3 and my chest lines up to the window on that van to give you an indication.
The Spot

Plus 500 other spots on the property.
It's not looking promising for cars to drive across the crossing so I'll let you guys decide if you want to be ferried across or make use of another part of the farm.
For supplies and comfort I'm just taking food, beer, something to smoke and a swag. There are plenty of plastic chairs there for seating if you forget a seat.
If its not too breezy I will set up a projector and screen under the stars in the cool night air for a movie maybe or some kalidoscope type visuals
The sound system will accomodate most audio devices and phones so bring some noise with you. I'll just have a lappy or iPhone plugged into it.
Don't forget your rods and some bait!
For those coming can we perhaps get a quick list together of who is bringing what gear? cooking equip and all that jazz I should be able to provide but not cups, plates, utensils etc

I'm heading to the island this morning to assess the water level situation. I'll give the alternate location a mow just in case and get some current photo's up. Wherever we will be located will be secluded and close to the water. Updates this arvo.

I did opt for later in feb, but the majority ruled . I am sure there will be another opertunity soon. Have fun fellow SAbers. What's out for yettis too.
Thats a bummer.... Maybe after this weekend there will be a few good reports and we can organize another camping meet soon.
Property is always available to friends.

The weather has been great and the fishing good if that is your thing. The river level has been down so at the moment most will easily get accross to the island - if that changes though there are still plenty of great spots to pitch a tent or roll out a swag.
I hope a few of you make the journey, It should be a great weekend!
