  1. Hi all,

I have for sale/trade a few more lophs and a handfull of Ariocarpus.

Please do not ask how much for something - I dont play like that. PM an offer in cash, trade or a combination of both. If I think its a good offer I will update the image with what I am about to accept from someone. Silent auction would be a good description of the process except for the posting of the current best $/trade offer in a $ value. How long the process runs for is however long it takes for me to go through and respond to most peoples PMs. All the best.

#1 14 Ariocarpus of various sizes. THere were 4 of each type of Ariocarpus arranged beautifully in my garden bed ranging from 1 year old seedlings to 5 year old plants. Unfortunately for me the chickens cut sick in the garden and spread them from asshole to breakfast time. These are what is left - sold as unknown Ariocarpus. Best offer - express post.

Please everyone come to the island soon! the weather is warming up and the water is nice!

  3. Awesome mate,

I am glad you got it all sorted & thanks again for helping me out .

I think the member that got the crests should be made to post photos when they get them potted up !

    Cheers

    Jox

By the sounds of things they wont see the light of day for a few years.

I'll get some pics of the crest pumping mothers up for you one day soon. They are pretty cool - nice main heads on them and they spew crests from mad tumor like side growths.

I could put some pics up of recent grafted baby crests but they are not very impressive at 5-10mm and another member already has dibbs on those.

  4. G'day all. I've had a nice weekend away and see I have a bucket load of PM's to read and reply to.

For everyone's information. As a rule I do not price my plants except for BIG grafts. I let the market decide everything else and I am open to offers only.

The other thing is I only need a few hundred for shade cloth. Not bills or any drama so I don't have to or intend to sell everything here.

As it stands at the moment from the first couple of PM's I've read I have best offers of $70ea for the jourdaniana's $100ea for the caes and a few bags of seed sold.

If your PM was asking how much for something best send a reasonable offer through. I don't reply to low ballers - do your research before offering $20 for a 10cm seed grown solitary plant. I'd like to get whatever plants packed and on their way so you can admire them before the weekend.

    Have a good one.

  5. Hey THC, I would be very keen to get both the Aztekium's , I know you said you need cash for shade clothe but I am currently unemployed. Would you consider trading for other rare cacti? I understand if you say no, but please consider it as Aztekium's are something I have been looking for for ages.

Good luck moving your plants mate.

    Cheers

    Hey mate.

We've got a good history. I'll get 'em in the mail monday/tuesday and we can work the details out later.

    All the best.

  7. Hi guys. Is there a date set for the next Melbourne meet? I wouldn't mind catching up with a few of you guys again soon. I've got a few goodies to share and some deals to follow through with while I'm down there. All the best.

  8. Hello all.

It was a nice morning here yesterday and I decided to go on one of my regular hikes up the side of Mt Buffalo with a couple of friends.

There has recently been a fair amount of rain and the waterfalls cascading down the side of the mountain looked stunning.

Many of our favourite acacias are flowering and seeing the pockets of yellow flowers all over the side of the mountain was a very heartening expereince.

After a couple hours of hiking up the 'Big Walk' in pristine Alpine country taking in all the beauty that was we came up on the area around Mackeys lookout. If anyone knows Mt Buffalo this is one of the spots where the 'big walk' crosses the road. If you drive up it is the area where the main road comes up and turns back on itself a couple of times right where the trees become sparse and lots of rock begins. There is a reason for describing where it is.

Where the 'big walk' crosses the road there is a parking area on the downward side of the slope for parks vehicles and a parking area for the public up around the bend on the side of the road. It's here where people stop and take photo's and go for a little walk to the lookout and take some more photo's of the view and drive away. It's also here that there are a couple pockets of phleb.

In this area close to the road we began to come across 2-3ft long pruned brances. We had a discussion and thought maybe parks had been doing a tidy up along the trail. We didn't need to walk or look very far to see that it was not a parks prune up. Phlebs have been cut to pieces all over this area in the last month. The visual evidence we found was that the trees are being cut up with pruning shears, bundled up and carted off to a vehicle on the road. There are a lot of sick Phlebs and the whole area looks shit.

Whether the tree was big or small didn't seem to matter to the harvester/s. 3+m Phlebs and little what would not have been 2ft high Phlebs.... pruned off and cut back.

I'm speechless as to what to say to these people. The only thing that really comes to mind is rapist.

I hope parks get some camera's up in this area or I come across them on one of my hikes.

    Assholes.

  9. Hi all,

I'm having an impromptu get together this weekend on the island just because I can. Local phleb expert in attendance. Tunes. Big ass fire. Awesome location. Pm for details. Prefer people who came last time or can have one of them vouch for you.

Arrive Friday afternoon. Piss off Sunday :-)

    Have a good one.

  10. Hi all, Anyone got some for sale or trade. Can pay cash or trade for Loph seeds.

    Curcuma amada/mangga (mango ginger)

    Illicium difengpi
