Without a machine be prepared for a lot of work and an icy mixture. if you want creamy soft icecream you will need a machine Im sorry. if u don't mind it a little crunchy make are you use some gum / egg. make sure your freezer is below -30 if you want yo keep for more than a Montgomery or two. ice crystals will keep growing after freezing the colder the better.


  2. try your hand at agar. it really is quite simple and will let you see problems much earlier. All of my first grows failed due to bacterial contaminants of the spores prints. Without agar i would still be looking at stalled out jars turning to mush.
