thanks, it's some kind of gum, found the piece when cleaning up the garden and it was quite soft and old to begin with, which gives it that driftwood look
i had to look up pareidolia haha but yes, it is most definately inspired by my tendency to see faces in natural forms. the face quite literally emerged as i was carving, there was no defined plan to begin with
