please don't eat a bit, you should never ever eat an unidentified mushroom. some can make you mildly sick, some you wont notice for a week then you can have irrepairable liver damage, some will kill you. it's a really stupid idea.

definately not a cube, so i hope it's not you who's taken a bite out of it doesn't look like any active i'm familiar with, but if you want an ID supply a spore print, habitat, etc and someone might be able to help you.

yes these were from outside dayboro, i've found them in various spots around the sunshine coast at this time of year also - woodford always. very scarcely any further south than that though in winter.

blue bruising is always a good sign (as you know), but it's only one element to look for when IDing a shroom. some mushrooms bruise purple, some green (like the active gyms), some don't bruise at all. blue-ing on a mushroom growing out of dung is an almost definate sign - but you should definately check with someone who know's better before eating any kind of shroom. where in australia are you from? i can try and give you an idea of where and what to look for

cubies fruit almost all year round in Qld, especially when the winter is as rainy and warm as it is this year. according to others, blue meanies will be growing in qld at the moment also, but i'm yet to find any up here (NSW will probably be thriving at the mo). and to all those who doubt these cubies, i tell you i'm 100% positive that they are. if you live in queensland, you sure as hell know what a cubie looks like

homer simspons i haven't got the years experience to comment on how these compare to the old days, but probably the best tabs i've got in the last two years.

i was curious enough of the answer to the original question to have read through the entire thread :D so next week when the funds are up i'll order some and put an end to my curiousity. i'll report back!
