Haven't listened to korn in quite a while. Felt a random urge to this-arvo. Love this song.

    Shotgun terrarium humidity

Thanks for all your help HB. In the next week or 2 I think I'll buy a new tub and all the parts and try again (tub was only about $8 anyway) This is the dodgy little sketch I did up that will be the general plan of the terrarium. I think there's some araldite laying around that I could use to seal up the hole the air pump goes into really well. How often and for how long do you think the air pump would need to be run for each day? And the clay balls, would they be from an aquarium shop aswell, or would I have to swing by a bunnings/similar store to pick up those?

    Shotgun terrarium humidity

Yeah it had some theory behind it with air pressure systems and it's what I've seen a couple other people recommend on the shroomery, but it just isn't working. Could you please elaborate what you mean with the air pump? So is it outside the terrarium? Or buried in it with the fish-tank heater? I only ask because I'm attempting to draw up a little bit of a schematic.
  4. Amazing work! The first one reminds me a lot of some sort of neuron/synapse. I love it.

Lightning fucked up my Graphic Board

You can generally pick up a power board with an in-built surge protector for not too much. From any local electrical/gadget store. You just plug that into the wall and then your electronics into that. It's not 100% guaranteed but it's better than nothing right! Hope it all works out for you EG

    Shotgun terrarium humidity

Hey HB thanks for the advice, these are some images, one is my terrarium, and the other is a picture taken from the guide since you are having trouble viewing it. The holes in my terrarium are about 5mm diameter, and there is just over 7cm of damp perlite in the bottom of the tub. The holes are on all sides (including top and bottom) and as you can see it's sitting up from the ground to enable air flow to the bottom. I should be able to pick up everything you've listed for your terrarium at a local pet store shouldn't I?

Lightning fucked up my Graphic Board

Everything you've listed are symptoms of motherboard failure. Unfortunately with problems this bad there isn't much you can rule out, but the fact that all your USB's are dead/dying means it has to mobo related. Same thing with the cd drives and floppy drives failing, mostly likely due to the connections on the motherboard, or the surge hitting them aswell. Did you have the system or monitor running through a surge protector or surge protecting power board at all? When you came back in from the garden initially and discovered it, could you smell any burning or funny odour at all? But yeah I'd definitely start with the motherboard, but potentially the rest of your computer is bricked too when things like this happen.

At this point you only really have 2 or 3 viable options. Take the computer to a repairs shop, as they have the ability to interchange parts easily and figure out exactly where the problem is (I wouldn't recommend this as they over-charge like crazy) Buy a new computer. Probably the most expensive option, but definitely the most hassle free and quickest fix in this position. Begin buying and installing new parts to diagnose and fix the problem. After what you've said about the USB ports it makes me think its the motherboard. So you might want to start with that first, or if that's too much hassle at this stage I'd move on to the PSU. As mac said call up your insurer if you have any and see if they cover electrical surges (probably won't as most class this as 'an act of god') The whole new PC really would be the easiest way to go right now, especially if your system is 4+ years old.

Lightning fucked up my Graphic Board

EG does your motherboard have any in-built graphics? IE: on the back of the tower is there a place to plug in the monitor cable that isn't the video card, and looks like it goes directly into the motherboard? If so try to plug the monitor into that and see what happens, don't worry if the graphics are considerably worse as this is expected, you're mostly looking to see if the black spots go away. Off the top of my head I'd say it would most likely be the monitor, because any power surge would have to go through either your PC's motherboard and/or powersupply first before hitting the video card, and it would definatley fry one of those 2 before anything else. And usually what you see with a power-surge anyway is the powersupply gets burnt up and most if not everything else is ok. Unless you just got unlucky and your videocard died coincidentally at the same time. Just curiously, did you have either the monitor or the PC power going through a surge protector or a surge protecting powerboard at all?

You think this is bad? Have you guys ever spent much time living in or around Nimbin NSW? Chopper raids began to become a frequent thing there.
  13. What I was thinking. Jigsaw anyone?
  14. ^^ "Police believe the ransom note is attached to her neck but bomb experts have been unable at this point to read its contents." I agree sounds sus to me, who bothers to attach a ransom note that cant be read?
  15. It hasn't officially been confirmed yet that the bomb is strapped around the girls neck, Offical quotes from Assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch are; "I can't confirm whether it is strapped to the woman involved but she is still in the vicinity of the device" 'Asked by the Australian Daily Telegraph whether the girl could move away from the device, Murdoch was quoted as saying: "No, she can't get away from it."' The paper quoted an unnamed police officer as describing the device as a "collar bomb" and the incident as an extortion attempt. Source I personally think it's horrible that anything like this could happen in our country, specifically such a densely populated area. EDIT: The original story and the place all the updates are coming from first are here.

    how to use amazon.com

The "x titles for $y" as you put it means if you buy x amount of titles they become that much per each. Mostly used for businesses that use amazon to get get more stock I believe. As for the erowid thing, wow I didn't know that. I'll make sure I do it through there next time i got to buy something from there.

Quite a nice buy there Sly. I didn't think you'd be able to find one with a HDMI out port but I guess the times are changing. Congrats

    Mobile phones

PD I have a perfectly good nokia prepaid that I no longer use, currently locked to the vodaphone network. If you want it for free send me a PM, only problem is it doesn't have a charger but any basic nokia charger should fit.

    cb radios for rainbow serpent

I'd go a little higher than that just in case. Maybe say 27 or something in that range. You can use this table as a pretty good guide of which channels to use. And yes but it is possible that people not from the festival could hear you. Depending on geography and weather these things have been known to broadcast up to 15k's

Oh incognito you're a charmer after my own heart. And it would appear that a P. Cubensis spore print is pretty hard to come by. The fact that it's not the season either could possibly have something to do with it.

    cb radios for rainbow serpent

Ahh short-wave radios are so useful in almost any situation. I remember a couple of mates and I used to use them when we went camping and went on bushwalks etc. As for the channels, a few of them are emergency only (but if you stay above channel 10 and up you'll be in the clear) and one of them, cant remember exactly which one, and possibly it varies depending on location, is the truckers channel. If you stay off those any other channel is free reign. But remember, there might be someone listening to you guys so I'd be a little careful with what you say sometimes.
