Now, if I'm right again, I ought to take some pics of the RFB before the latest round of LEDs arrive .. and then, over time, better rate the lighting system; which will hopefully be the final lighting system for the RainForestBox I will pretty much rip from the LED cactica thread and adjust to suit... "So I tested some cheapo 6000k floodlights; 4 x 15watters, and a 30watter. The 30w burnt my rainforest palnts but a 15w and 2 x 15w ip68 aquarium led light bars are enjoyed well..." "Our cacties seemed to like the 30w somewhat but our mangroves seem to adore it. So the 30watter and a 15w are officially commandeered by mangrovia .. But the RainForestBox needs a good downsize/upgrade to: just one light to rule them all.. -a 20w perple ip68 me thinketh..." So this thread will focus particularly on LEDs being used for High humidity rainforest plant growing as the main topic but they will also be useful no doubt for other ventures... I found some "waterproof" (IP65 -so not technically submersible like an IP68) that can take outdoor use in all weathers but it's stated purpose is indoor growing. My rainforest box is in my opinion using too much with 3 lights.. but alas has to live in the shadey northerly quarters... I figure if it could take more than the 15w, but less than the 30w; then 20watts sounds like a fair gamble to me.. I decided to grab one and see if it will do better and more efficiently.. seing as it's only 20 quid So I'm basically gna be boosting their ray exposure and quality and with any luck some might even flower - or at least start thinking about it.. :D I never owned a purple plantgro light in my life yet so it's time to give them a try and learn ... aaaand some recent pics of the RFB , there is a little bit of growth on one plant and a loss of leaf on another since these pics , also the addition of 2 aquarium mini light bars ...so I will try to remember to get some fresh pics next light ..
