I have been growing and using withania for many years in my herbal practice. 2 - 3 years old usually gets the best yields and best quality . The leaf and seed are used for anemia and treatment of cancer. The roots spread ou to the edges of where the branches extend too. It sends down one very large tap root . Easy to propogate from seed and there are a lo of them on one bush. Vigorous pruning stimulates the root growth. Putting the leaves into your compost puts iron back into the soil. Love s the climate here in the west , grows like a weed. Gotta love the solanacea family . Has lots of the good ones.

I have the following seeds in abundance Argemone mexicana Hyoscamus alba Datura stramonium Leonotis leonorus (orange ) Pink Peony Leonorus sibericus Also will soon have Eschscholzia californica soon , again lots . Have lots of seedlings of both Leonotis leonorus( Alba ) and Leonotis leonorus aka Lions tail. Have discovered that Brugmansia sanguinea grows well from cuttings . A piece broke off my plant and I just stuck it in some very rich compost filled soil and it is sprouting new leaves and doing very well . Dr. D

I have an Autumnalis growing . It loves winter and spring but then dies back during summer .. Basically in line with the seasons of the northern hemisphere where it originates from ... Our summer , their winter etc. It has flowered this season but unfortuneately no seed , this time .. Not sure about the root division story , though if you took a small piece of the root and used rooting gel it may work . Have M .officinalis seed planted but nada yet but I think the same principles apply and wont be suprised if it raises its head in winter . Dr . D

It is good stuff , and if you enjoyed that read " The Realm of the Ring Lords " by Laurence Gardner http://www.graal.co.uk/ -
I have tried 2 - 3 ml of a tincture of Yohimbe that I got from Altered states , a company in New Zealand . Does nothing much for me . However I do have a number of Herbal tictures , some of Them are Chinese which really do the job , ie: extended periods of Tantric exchange . One of them being Xian Mao which is a chinese herb Curculigo orchioides . Tincture of Clary sage flowers also works well and has a pleasant euphoric effect as a bonus . Another good combo which I tried and felt like a 20yo again tinctures of Tribulus and Bacopa combined .. [ 14. May 2003, 02:26: Message edited by: Herbmajik ]

You could try using some good old Lavender and Rosemary as a mixture in an Infusion . Both the essential oils of these two are good for migraines . Also Sandalwood tincture or tea would work as it calms the mind and cools the head . [ 14. May 2003, 02:09: Message edited by: Herbmajik ]
