I thought Hawkie eradicated all child poverty back in 1990 & that one of his successor's to the crown was to make Australia the knowledgeable country - or some such thing - whilst similtaneously introducing & increasing HECS for uni students, thereby making it harder for kids from lower socio-economic groups to get thru uni & thus entrenching some peolple in their present situation. Still it isn't as bad as countries such as the USA. In regards to racism - up here in Broome it is absolutely rife in regards to Aboriginals. The general state of their economic & social conditions are pretty poor. It's hard to believe we are living in the same town.

Just say you have a "dry,tickly cough" If they ask qns about whether you have any congestion on the chest or such forth the answer is no. I think if you go to a few of the larger pharmacies in particular the shop assistants & majority of pharmacists wouldn't have a clue.In addition a lot of smaller pharmacies won't keep it simply for turnover reasons. It's pretty rare to get any real knowledge apart from what you can assimilate for yourself from "health care professionals" ie doctors,pharmacists - most ranges of vitamines & supplements are there for one purpose only - profit - not propagation of knowledge(even their own). Heaven forbid you find a doctor who not only accepts "alternative therapies" but also believes & understands the concept of best medical & therapeutic outcomes with relation to these therapies & conventional western style corporate medicine... ... & lets not get started on dentists * almalgam fillings . This is pretty much true of all "health care professionals" in general - doctors, pharmacists etc One thing that remains true is the pursuit of the dollar. Go into a pharmacy & there is a plethora of ranges of vitamins, herbs & crap. Try to find some proper info about a compound apart from it costing $19.95 from the staff & you are doing well. To find a doctor who not only agrees with & also understands the interelation between "natural products" & pharmaceutical drugs is to almost discover a medicinal nirvana. For example Hypericum & anti-depressants - It's not that difficult.

No wonder "the war on drugs" has been so successful.
